Something Like a Curse | Gachiakuta Season 1 Episode 12 | The Normies Group Reaction!

Rana, Suraj, Navi, Pat, and Marketa present the reaction and review to possibly the best anime of the year, Gachiakuta Season 1 Episode 12 "Something Like a Curse" - SPOILER ALERT - Gachiakuta Season 1 Episode 12, Amo’s mind-controlling scent traps Rudo, Delmon, Riyo, and Follo, forcing them to relive painful, illusionary happy memories and turning them against their fellow Cleaners. Once the group is freed from Amo's illusions, the contrast between her fake "golden days" and their harsh reality plunges the victims into depression and rage. Enjin manages to steal one of Amo's boots, effectively stripping away her movement-based powers. Uncontrolled rage takes over Rudo, who removes his mask and delivers a brutal, visceral beating to Amo. He justifies the violence by highlighting that despite her appearance, she actively toyed with their emotions and nearly killed them all. After the fight, Enjin takes Rudo aside to calm down. Rudo opens up about his psychological scars, explaining that Amo's trap triggered the deep-rooted feelings of helplessness and being "discarded" that he felt back in the Sphere. The episode ends on a massive narrative breakthrough. After recovering from the beating, Amo drops a major piece of information: she has actually witnessed someone traveling directly between the Sphere (the sky city) and the Ground (the Pit). This confirms the Cleaners' theories, and the episode cuts to a cliffhanger as they demand she repeat exactly what she saw. Yeaaah guys... the thing about this show is how EVERYONE is BROKEN in some way. Everyone is trying to deal with their problems and traumas. Rudo's issue is the HATRED he feels. He doesn't know how to connect properly with people and has a huge anger management problem. And I really like that a big part of the show's message is that we shouldn't "throw away" anyone who seems broken like "trash". Sure, there are people who are beyond redemption, and we’ll encounter them throughout our lives, but there is value in trying to save those who can be saved and a large part of the show will be about how someone as broken as Rudo can indeed learn to connect with others as we saw in the conversation with Enjin. I agree with Pat, we can and should fix/save Amo! And I guess the next episode is going to make you all regret how quickly and easily you judged her, her clothes, and her poses...

Based on what she said in episode 9, Riyo probably saw one of or both of her parents poor girl. “Parents give us a lot of things, some good & some bad” Looking back at it she looked sad asf that whole scene cos she turned off the happy persona.

You guys are not ready for the next episode .

Meh

The father figure you were thinking of was named Regto. Up to now we don't know of any actual blood relationship to Rudo, and he gave Rudo the gloves due to the damage to his hands. Everthing else is a question. As for Ketty's therapist angle I think I have to disagree there, and the show actually made the case why. Granted we don't know the full degree of control she can have in the interpretaion of those memories, but as Zanka said "wakeing up is like losing them again". I don't think retraumatizing or the angle of "getting used to it" through repetition is particularly good (outside of like brainwashing soldier goons) so I don't really see a very positive use for it.

I get it but im still slocked the ladies ddon't catch what was happening they usually catch little things like wat they did with Amo. Also the way they shot tomme was also crazy good. This show is very.... season 1 GoT level detail. Not that you guys do it but I find alot of people disregard that level of detail due to it being animation. Looking forward to the next one. Very dark, very well made however and captured what too many people i know went through

Catch on to what? Were you able to spot the clues during your first watch of the series? Or are they more obvious now because you have more context? Keep that in mind whenever someone doesn't immediately understand something the first time.

#SundayRundown I love the quick details in this show, when I first watched it blind I knew exactly why Rudo was walking towards her so I wasn't surprised when he just let loose. And also for the part about people pulling him off the two people who held him back were just in shock, and the others who's memories were also toted with you can see them looking slightly away almost as though they're turning a blind eye because they had their emotions abused.
