Overall I really enjoyed this season, obviously Studio Trigger continues to be one of the top anime studios, but I liked the first season more. Makes sense since this had a different director and that changes the tone significantly, they probably wanted to tell a different story also. My single biggest complaint is that despite taking place after 2077 you don't really feel that, especially since nobody mentions V or the incident at Arasaka tower, or even Adam Smashers death, this could have taken place sometime after Season 1 and you wouldn't really be able to tell. But still far from like a bad or disappointing season.

Meh

Certainly liked the first more, but I really lked this season too (espescially the sound track). Surprisingly something I kinda sused out was King not being Talia's father. I didn't flat call it out but thought it was odd that he had to bribe the hospital to notify him about Talia if he were verifyably her dad. Then there was the part where he tells her she is his "reason for living", but refuses to tell her the entire time and that was what stuck the idea. He knew the entire time but was so broken down after cyber psychosis and medical bankruptcy he NEEDED a purpose to keep going and latched right onto the idea of saving his daughter when Avida brought him the job. Question is how calculated was that for Avida, because the way this world is I'd think a paternity lie wouldn't be so easy. A detail I've been kinda struggling with is what was Kyoko doing in the beginning of this season. In the flashbacks towards the end we see when Arasaka cuts the program for Capricorn and takes away Kyoko, but what then? Seems like she was still working there somehow because she seemed surprised by and took advantage of the break in to steal Capri. I'm also not sure if the implication later is that Kyoko sold Soul Killer to Kang Tao or if Arasaka was just trying to make some money back on a failed project (as Soul Killer is what she would have had to use to create Capri). This was fun and glad you guys liked it.

I'm actually with Chris I much preferred this season. It's simply because I think the character work is better.
