Can we not stream these anymore

Allan Jacob

will there be a video of you guys reacting to the Godfather if we missed the live stream?

SunnydaleClassof99

Suraj, Heat is an absolute must. No hyperbole it's one of the greatest films of all-time.

phunkrsd

Can we find the vod somewhere?

Erik D

You probably don't even hear it when it happens, right?

One of the greatest episodes of the series. Stuff like this is at least partly why the show is so great, how it mixes domestic family life with mob life. How they overlap, conflict, weave into each other in troubling and unexpected ways. Tony’s revenge on Bobby is far worse than hurting him physically or taking his pound of flesh. Taking the house back would’ve been too kind. Tony took a piece of Bobby’s soul. The one thing Bobby still has left, the one thing that isn’t completely corrupted. Something that Bobby still has that Tony is arguably losing or has lost. He chose the most vindictive path possible.

#SundayRundown Such a fantastic episode. Bobby has been an object of ridicule for Tony since he first appeared on the show. Things have only deteriorated since he was shot by Uncle Junior. Add in his long-standing strained relationship with Janice & you have a recipe for disaster. Losing a fight to Bobby is devastating blow to Tony's incredibly fragile ego. Every interaction following it is loaded with tension because you have no idea how he's going to respond. Bobby literally trying to flee the scene in the immediate aftermath is a great example of that. Him using Bobby for a hit is a great way for him to extert his control over the situation & to put Bobby in his place. The knife twists that much more because it's another Father who is devoted to his daughter. Bobby looking at the picture of his victim with a happy family & then the coda of him coming home to his own daughter greeting him 🤌

Where did the option to screen on TVs go on the website?

When’s Godfather coming out? Y’all keep up the good work.

This episode never fails to remind me how Tony Soprano is perhaps the oldest toddler in TV fiction. He just can't help making people miserable, even his loved ones. He thrives on it. And when they understandably decide to bite back at him, he gets so deeply spiteful. Great character? Absolutely. Lil'bitch? You know it.

Agree with everyone here.... Tony's salty, vindictive and deserved to get his ass kicked BUT at the end of the day, you don't raise your hands on the boss, whether Tony deserved it or not. It was the stupidest thing Bobby could ever do in that world they live in. As petty as Tony was, Bobby was so lucky that his punishment was getting blood on his hands because in any other mob family it would have been a REQUIREMENT. I'm surprised Junior didn't have Bobby do this before in order for him to make his bones (prove himself) that he can be trustworthy and reliable. Bobby could've also gotten himself killed just for raising his hands to another made guy - let alone the boss.

I love the one girl is so innocently worried that Canuck is a slur. Aaand Meanwhile the other guy(Chris?) just lets fuckin loose with “They can’t afford cameras”, “beavers & moose”. Making fun of the accents of the actual French Canadian actors. Insulting & stereotyping other countries & cultures. That’s a good look lol. Good to have Surj back this week. He was missed last week. Also: Do they know this takes place in 2007? The show states a year but i think I heard a Limp Bizkit reference by buddy as a reference for AJ’s look.

10000%. Heat is one of the GOATS

Stan the Man

Tony took the one thing Bobby still had. His soul. The last shot of the episode, his little girl running to him as that song plays? Him holding his child facing out against the infinite. It’s beautiful. Honestly. This season is just banger after banger. Every episode is an A+ except one which is an A- But the first 3 episodes of this season are all timers. Next week is a personal favourite.

The Normies

It is scheduled for October 3rd, but that is subject to change!

The Normies

what do you mean? like the uncut doesn't allow you to screen it on the tv?

The Normies

yes. right now it is scheduled for oct. 3rd. but that is subject to change.

Season 6B really did have some of the best and rewatchable episodes of the entire series. There's a lot of little easter eggs throughout and shot placements are obviously very intentional this season. "Soprano Home Movies" is in my top 10 personally, and Tony vs. Bobby is the best fight in the show, bar none. From the choreography to the cinematography.

it's pretty clear they don't read the comments. chris has said multiple times carmela doesn't guess murder or the "why" in terms of people disappearing, when it's been repeatedly pointed out here that she knows what happened to ritchie and pussy. it's literally in the episodes if you go back and watch them. this is why remembering stuff is important because it's going to change how you would parse out meanings from certain scenes. carmela isn't stupid. she knows murder happens. it's the whole subconscious thing underpinning her struggle with her complicity and she had a whole arc for it in season three. there are a number of different things to take away from her conversation with janice where it's important to remember small things (also the fact that she tells tony one thing, and janice another). the show is largely about the power of self-deception. combine that with tribalism (which again, they're always going on about discrimination against italian americans, meadow echoes that theme here), and you'll hone in on themes and different synthesis of larger ideas that are layered into the story. in relation to the idea of self-deception, the story that janice told may be funny to people on the outside, but tony had a traumatic past (and processes it differently than janice) and doesn't like being in the mob, so he wants to maintain the idea that his family is as normal as they can be within the context of their background. good discussion otherwise.

The street names in Monopoly are based on actual street names in Atlantic City, NJ. Bobby should have known better than to mess with a mob boss's Boardwalk Empire!

I don't think Janice was trying to confess to killing Richie. I think she and Carmela are both on edge because they are both afraid that Tony is going to kill Bobby. Janice killed Richie because he hit her (just like Bobby hit Tony) and she knows that this is how her family operates. Johnny Boy was a hot-tempered killer (like Janice and Tony), while Livia was a cold-blooded monster who couldn't stand people standing up to her (like Janice and Tony). Carmela knows that Tony has killed people. She also knows that Janice killed Richie. Tony basically tells her as much when Richie disappears: “Carmela, after 18 years of marriage, don't make me make you an accessory after the fact.” She probably also know that something awful happened to Big Pussy. She has simply decided to ignore it. So I think they're both dancing around the real subject: they're scared of what is going to happen to Bobby because they know what Tony is capable of, but neither of them can actually admit that to the other. Janice gets closer to saying it outright, but then Carmela loses her temper and insists that Tony isn't vindictive even though she knows that isn't true. Because admitting it would make them "look like a dysfunctional family"

On The Normies website when I used to play uncuts on my phone, there would be a little TV button to click so that I could connect it to my TV and watch it there. It seems to be updated now and I don’t have that option anymore. I had to watch today’s reaction on my computer.. The horror! 😹

Veya

yeah, i've basically have repeated that carmela point before, but they don't read the comments lol. carmela KNOWS they murder. i think they're (maybe not everyone on the couch) conflating how she reacted to adriana disappearing with other mobsters disappearing. but the nuances are there. carmela holds herself morally superior to the mobsters who actually murder people. but then there's someone like adriana who is in the same boat as her, who also disappears and that shakes her more because it shows that they aren't immune to the same consequences of the lifestyle. it's even echoed here in a subtle way, with how she also gets physically hurt trying to stop the fight and is complaining about it afterwards.

Bobby was definitely in the wrong. Janice didn't care....she was actually having a good time. The only reason Bobby did what he did was because he was HAMMERED. There have been plenty of times before where Tony was WAY more disrespectful to Janice than he was in this episode and Bobby didnt do shit. As for the Carmela and Janice conversation. No Carmela was absolutely not reading too much into it. Janice is a very manipulative person everything she says is planned and calculated. Janice was fishing for information about whether Tony was gonna do something to Bobby because she was worried he would, she subtly compare tony to their mother in front of car , especially the fact that like tony , their mother was also very vindictive and "could lay in the weeds for days, weeks, years waiting to strike" while also implying that if Tony did do anything to Bobby , that she would kill him just like she killed Richie. Carmela already knows what happened to Richie and Janice knows that Carmela knows so she has no reason to say "I had an ex boyfriend once" as if Carmela doesn't know exactly who she's talking about..... It was a very subtle threat. Just not subtle enough for Carmela.

The Normies

lol. we did do an update. let me see if we can get that back.

Jussi

Tony is also like his mother in the way he adores his father, Johnny Boy, “The Saint.” He blames Livia for everything but constantly struggles to admit that his father wasn’t a good person, father, or husband either. When he met his father’s goomar, he had a brief realization that Johnny Boy didn’t really care about his family (giving away their dog, staying with his lover while Livia was having a miscarriage, making Tony lie for him, etc). But after that, he has refused to acknowledge anything bad about his father, not even to Melfi. Janice’s story reveals Johnny Boy for what he really was: an abuser. It’s a story about a man who threatens to kill his wife if she doesn’t shut up, shooting a gun into her hair while driving. A small bump in the road and Livia could have ended up with a bullet in her head. It’s not funny, and Tony seems to be the only one who realizes that.

The Normies

my website guy said it was fixed, so let me know if you can do it now!!

#SundayRundown Breaking balls has done more damage to the mafia than the FBI over 6 seasons

Why? Why would you do that? This comment and others like it spoiled something you only get to experience once. At least two of the reactors all but came out and said it during this weeks episode. So it not only robs them of the experience but also all of us who were excited for it. You can’t put the genie back in the bottle and what’s done is done. But please be more careful in the future.
