Omg what bleach on Monday 😭😭😭🥹 thank you guys

Gremmy Thoumeaux

In Japanese, Adult Toshiro actually has a completely different voice than his younger form. He is voiced by Romi Park to Yuki Kaji(EREN YAEGER and Shoto Todoroki) https://youtu.be/nuNaup-htto?is=cod6PI5Heqr9fCTV I imagined Steve Staley would still voice Adult Toshi since he already sounded mature even in younger form but nice he added a deep pitch too. I’ve met him recently and even had him sign a copy of CFYOW since he also voices Shuhei Hisagi. I even tweeted about it. Get ready because it’s coming your way. https://x.com/gremmyvisionary/status/2102121195831513160?s=46&t=wO-da0wEVrXIT_GlznBwjQ

Kage Uzumaki

Yes Yachiru is the manifestation of his sword. When we are introduced to their story she puts her hand on his sword when he asks for her name. This means she was pointing at the sword. Kenny then names her after Unohana. When he fight Gremmy and says Nozarashi it cuts back to that flash back and we see her one more time before she finally disappears. She is essentionly taking matters into her own hand. When she uses the bankai.

2026-09-22 23:00 #SundayRundown Bleach TYBW For Saurj This is Conflictor Repost for EPs 42 & 43. This is a long one since it’s for both EPs. Please read Normies. 🙏 The flower Orihime compared to represent Ichigo is known as the Fire Lily (Gloriosa Superba) The fire lily, or flame lily, spiritually symbolizes rebirth, resilience, and passionate energy. It is known for blooming brightly after wildfires, representing life rising from ashes. It’s Core Spiritual Meanings * Renewal: Rising from the ashes of destruction to show hope and fresh starts. * Inner Fire: Representing strong passion, drive, and bold ambition. * Resilience: Flourishing and standing strong against tough conditions. As Ichigo is able to protect everything & everyone, he loses sight of himself, to which that is where, Orihime becomes the shield to his sword. Now Here we have a rare full on battle of wits turned into brute force and what better than it to be the most intelligent character of the series in Kisuke Urahara with one of, if not the most fatally haxed character there is: Askin Nakk Le Vaar who’s clearly even more of a JoJo’s-Esque character than Yumichika not only in flamboyance but also in haxed intelligence and when dealing with that of Death-Dealer, you’re gonna need the very best & brightest in intelligence that Bleach has to offer by none other than the same man that outsmarted even Aizen and with coincidentally an ability that is ranged just like a Stand- The most Surgically Complex Ban-Kai- ‘Kannon-Biraki Benihime Aratame’ (“Modified Crimson Princess of Dissection” * The Deity: "Kannon" (known as Avalokiteśvara in Sanskrit) is the Buddhist Bodhisattva of mercy and compassion. This reflects the Bankai's ability to act as a savior by instantly healing fatal injuries. * The Double Doors: In Japanese, Kannon-biraki is a term used for double doors that open outward from the center (like a wardrobe or cabinet). * The Dissection: Anatomically and culinarily, the term refers to making a central incision and peeling back two sides (a "butterfly cut"). This perfectly represents how Urahara's Bankai physically cuts and splits open objects or flesh to remodel them. 2. Benihime — Crimson Princess * Retained from his Shikai, Beni means "Crimson/Deep Red" and Hime means "Princess". * It represents the beautiful yet bloody, hazardous nature of his blade's power. 3. Aratame — Revision / Modification * Derived from the verb aratameru (to renew, alter, or examine). * This suffix indicates that the Crimson Princess has been radically modified or overhauled into a new form. It points directly to the Bankai's ultimate mechanism: rewriting, updating, and reconstructing the properties of anything it touches. This reflects Kisuke’s personality to strategically & surgically manipulate his surroundings and others, maintaining the status quo for better or for worse. As a call back to earlier in the arc, when it was revealed, that hollows are a poison to Quincy’s, and therefore even given an opening to Resurrección Grimmjow to land the final blow foreshadowed in Senjumaru’s Bankai- The "metal and spikes" imagery in her loom of fate represents the cold, brutal, and piercing nature of Grimmjow's surprise physical assassination. As for Askin’s “Hass Hein” (God’s Poison Tester) Vollständig: This is an Auto-Adaptation: It supercharges his innate Schrift ability (The DeathDealing), allowing him to automatically adapt to changes in any "poison" or spiritual energy affecting him as long as the base property remains the same. Immunity: It prevents enemies from bypassing his defenses by rapidly altering their spiritual pressure (Reiatsu), rendering changing attacks useless against him. Signature Moves: In this form, he gains access to large-scale lethal area attacks like Gift Ball Deluxe and instant-death focal strikes like the Gift Ring. For EP 43 And so, This is a prime example of how Bleach is more subtly complex & darker/disturbing compared to its peers & contemporaries. It is revealed here in all its clarity, that unlike that in other series where the main characters main goal/dream is laid out from the jump as something to aspire to, like in Naruto being the Hokage for acceptance or in One Piece with Luffy being the Pirate King for freedom, you would think Ichigo should want to be the very thing that that allows him to protect everything in a spiritual focused world, that being none other than the Soul King. However as it was originally revealed in the novel CFYOW (“Can’t Fear Your Own World”) you do NOT want to be the Soul King as it is not what it seems as you would be stripped of any free will and conscience reduced to nothing but a comatose limbless linchpin holding the worlds together, yet just as we saw back in the Fullbring arc when Ginjo revealed to Ichigo that he was being monitored by his soul reaper badge which she thought was a symbol of trust was actually meant to track and restrict his powers if necessary, surveying him should he have ever gone rogue has a safety precaution or using him like they did Ginjo- that it did not phase nor distract Ichigo from the mission at hand to protect others and the worlds at large. To put it how Tobey Maguire‘s Spider-Man said it best “There are bigger things happening here than me and you” never forget what’s most important beyond yourself. Lastly as for Ichigo & Orihime’s moment of silent staring of understanding & mutual trust, he intentionally slowed down knowing she couldn’t keep up to signal to her that he had a plan and that he’s not recklessly charging throwing his life away, that being to use Yhwach’s Quincy Reiatsu so it would awaken/trigger the white transformation on his larger Zangetsu blade (leading into what is known as his composite transformation form the “Horn of Salvation” as a true hybrid form). He needed those repeated “reckless-looking” charges to force the reaction. Once the blade starts turning white, he immediately has her switch to block the next blast while he finishes the process. Yet another prime example of complex subtlety. Starting next Ep, we reach the point of never before seen Eps as these first 3 were released in theaters, and the next few might just be the best not only in Bleach, but also anime and TV history.
2026-09-21 19:55 Bleach TYBW Episode 42- “Son Of Darkness” Keyword Page Bankai "Kannon-Biraki Benihime Aratame" “This is the Bankai of Kisuke Urahara’s Zanpakuto, Benihime. It is a gigantic ball-jointed doll that upon activation has the ability to ‘reshape anything it touches.’ This power extends to everything within the Bankai's range. It can restructure not only people and objects, but even special domains created by enemies. The target of the attack is instantly dismantled and its properties are altered.” Bleach TYBW Episode 43- “Blood for My Bone” Keyword Page Haschwalth “This is the form Haschwalth takes when he unleashes the power of "The Almighty" entrusted to him by the sleeping Yhwach, becoming a vessel for it. Yhwach's power overflows from his eyes, enveloping him and transforming his appearance. This immense power even affects his mind, causing him to display a belligerent attitude and tone of voice that is unimaginable from his usual calm and composed demeanor.” Bleach TYBW Episode 44- “The Perfect Crimson” Keyword Page Bankai "Daiguren Hyōrinmaru" (‘Grand Crimson Lotus Ice Ring’) “This is the Bankai of Hyōrinmaru, the Zanpakutō of Tōshirō Hitsugaya, captain of the 10th Division of the Gotei 13. It is the strongest ice-type ability, generating ice wings and a tail on his back and freely freezing surrounding moisture. During combat, the "ice flowers" on his back scatter over time, and when they are all gone, he achieves "Complete Bankai which allows him to freeze concepts while developed in ice armor. While it exhibits extremely high performance, it also causes side effects for Hitsugaya himself.”

2026-09-22 03:00 #SundayRundown Bleach TYBW For Ep 44 The Wildly Demonic Ban-Kai Nozarashi (‘Weather Beaten One/Exposed to the Wilds’) Much like Unohana’s shikai/bankai, Kenpachi’s has the same name and double meaning. Derived from the imagery of a skeleton or skull exposed to the elements in a field, now fleshed out into an Oni (Demon) able to slice through or devour nearly anything. Thematic Meaning: The name reflects his raw, primal nature as a warrior. Instead of a refined technique, his Bankai strips away his rational mind and turns him into a mindless, bloodthirsty berserker who relies entirely on instinct and sheer destructive power. It grants him immense physical strength and a level of cutting power so absolute that it can cleave through nearly anything, though the immense strain causes his own body to break apart if he is not careful. Now much like Shunsui’s Bankai that is an adult play, Toshiro’s Complete Bankai is the adult/inverse of his incomplete one, already one of the strongest ice type Zanpakuto’s that could freeze nearly anything now he can freeze concepts like Hope itself, possibly the most broken ice user in fiction. Shikai Hyōketsu (Four World Freeze) This is an ultimate technique used by Hitsuguya. Despite the name containing "Shikai," it is actually an absolute ability of his mature, fully-completed Bankai, Daiguren Hyōrinmaru. Freezing the Elements: Hitsugaya freezes everything within the space he steps across in four paces. It halts the four fundamental elements of earth, water, fire, and wind. Function Nullification: It does not just trap targets in ice; it completely suspends and stops the "functions" or properties of anything frozen down to an atomic and spiritual level. Instant Activation: Once his true adult form matures and he triggers the command, everything in his designated path is crystallized and neutralized within four seconds. As for Gerard, once cut down and pushed to the brink of death he becomes “Ashtonig” (‘Divine Authority of God’) resurrected by his Quincy Schrift as the heart of the soul king allowing him to miraculously come back from seemingly anything. Byakuya’a ultimate technique “Ikka Senjinka” (One Bite, Thousand Bladed Flower/Bite of the Thousand-Bladed Flower) is the result of his training with squad 0. And finally at the end with Ichigo accepting both sides of his powers, representing the true msg of Bleach of self acceptance and parallels of the world. The English meaning of this Bankai came as a surprise even to me, edited in just now meaning that this EP has a double meaning, you’d think it stands for the crimson skin of Kenpachi’s Bankai when it’s actually for both. Makes sense why the title of the EP appeared immediately after. Lastly Fun Fact: The VA is Yuki Kaji who voices Eren in AOT, and Next week is the 10th anniversary since the original end of the Bleach manga. There’s no question This is anime of the season. Ain’t nothing competing with this.

2026-09-22 23:00 #SundayRundown If you recall to way back when Kenny talks about first meeting Yachiro he says he found an unnamed child. When he asked her for her name she said nothing and touched his blade. In the scene in this episode where she appears to Kenny once again, you can see his blade in her eyes right before she says "bankai". https://x.com/gloomyanimal/status/2088693711438062073

One thing I like about Byakuya’s technique is how it can be seen as a callback to when he told Ichigo that the thousands of swords will not attack him all at once when we first saw him use his Senkei. I look forward to reading your comments every week man and thanks for the translations. I always wondered what they said exactly.

Toshiro is speaking facts. The only person in the manga who claimed Toshiro’s Bankai will disappear if all of the ice petals fall was the Arrancar, Shawlong Kufang(Grimmjow’s Fraccion), but Toshiro never confirmed nor denied that claim. He wasn’t able to go into Adult Form before since Kubo recently confirmed that if Toshiro tried to become an adult before mastering his Bankai, it would damage him instead. After his Bankai got stolen by the Quincies, he spoke about how frustrated he was because he spent so much time refining his Bankai after the battle with Aizen until it could be called a TRUE BANKAI. I used to assume that him mastering it would mean getting rid of the ice petals as a timer completely. So it was odd to see the ice petals still being around, only to find out it was actually a countdown for his mature form. If he had this form during the 2nd invasion, Bazz B wouldn’t have stood a chance since he can freeze even fire in this form and would’ve gotten so many wins.

The Whole Gang's Here!!! 🥳

Step B.

#SundayRundown - To answer your questions on Kenpachi yes Yachiru is his Zanpakuto spirit. She's his Bankai spirit to be precise kinda like the "young" Zangetsu we saw with Ichigo before his fight with Aizen, but his regular spirit is an adult woman and we have no idea what she looks like. According to Kubo; in order to get through to Kenpachi who couldn't hear his sword's voice at all it split a piece of itself off and manifested it physically into the world and that piece was baby Yachiru. You won't remember this, but when we see the flashback of him meeting Yachiru he asks her "Where did you come from kid" and she places her hand directly on his sword. If you wanna see the flashback again it's in TYBW 2x20 during his fight with Gremmy when he uses his Shikai for the first time and right after that Yachiru disappears from the show until I think this episode

CoreBear

Hooo boy you guys aren't ready for episode 45. Probably a top 3 all time Bleach episode.

Now have to wait another week for Absolute Cinema 😩

How the hell are you walking around bro you're literally a brain in a jar

#SundayRundown #Bleach #HeHim Since when were you under the impression that Yachiru was a soul reaper? From the beginning, she said it herself, all she knew was murder and that's because she was his blade. Kenpachi's power was so strong that a part of it managed to break away from him, essentially giving birth to her. Once he named her, he gave her power, just like what Ichibe said, a form is fully realized once given a name. When Kenny activated his shikai against Gremmy, she unconsciously renounced the name Yachiru, and became a part of his sword once again. What I've always been more interested though in is his bankai form, he's a demon, an oni, where the HELL did this guy really come from? And as I've said before, Shiro Sagisu is the GOAT composer, that number one remix coupled with Ichigo's gran ray getsuga was euphoric. Have fun with the next episode, it's going to be one to remember.

MyDude SnakePlisskin

Please, for the love of all deities good and benevolent, please dont give the garbage live action Yu Yu Hakusho the time of day. It's...really bad.

Meh

I'm sure there are plenty of comments breaking down what Yachiru is better than I could but I do have a not so important question. I wonder if any of the more senior captains (Yama, Kyoraku, Ukitake, Unohana or even Aizen) knew or at least recognized something off about her. I can't imagine Mayuri not losing his mind over it, and would love to hear Nimaya explain it in his way XD

Nabeshin

I SO wish they'd gotten Papenbrook to voice his adult form. Woulda' been a nice rhyming moment between dub and sub. 😆

Nabeshin

#SundayRundown #BLEACH "Bitch, if you a miracle, he's a curse!" - Straight BARS from Rana! 🤣 The last time you saw Yachiru, she was indeed taking on Gremmy. Or rather, she was taking on a manifested being Gremmy created. Then Gremmy got bored and decided to step in himself. You remember the rest, surely. Anyway, after that fight, Kenpachi called out to Yachiru and she didn't answer. We then saw her shinigami outfit on the ground, empty. That was the big hint. Of course there've been little hints all throughout the show. 😉

Sickleweed

Been waiting for your reaction to this episode!!! Your reactions to Kenny's bankai and Toshiro's adult form was everything I'd hoped for! ❤️❤️❤️ Never in a million years would I have imagined a grown up Toshiro would be hotter than Byakuya. Good job and thank you to Kubo-sensei!

Xonok

The Schutzstaffel (Yhwach Elite Guard) are all broken, each one could have been a main villain in a previous arc. Gerard there is almost no way to kill him, Pernida only die to cancer thanks to Mayuri's intellect, Askin was ridiculously hard to kill, he got jump by multiple people and it took Uruhara's intellect to kill him, Lille Barro took a sacred treasure and reflecting his own power to defeat him. If all 4 had stay together they were not losing to any combination of captains.

Jack Witt

She's actually the bankai of Nozarashi. It's like Zangetsu and Tensa Zangetsu's relationship.

Jack Witt

Fun Fact: "The Perfect Crimson" title refers to Toshiro's perfected Bankai, Daiguren Hyōrinmaru (大紅蓮氷輪丸, Mahāpadma Ice Ring; Viz "Grand Crimson Lotus Ice Ring").

Anderson Lake(The Bleach)

#SundayRundown Don't worry, you guys didn't miss anything with Kenpachi before, this is the "confirmation" basically. But there were clues to it before, especially after the Gremmy fight. So let's look back a bit. When they first met was on a bloody battlefield after Kenny had finished killing a bunch of guys a "nameless" child crawls up to his sword and touches his blade and then Kenny gives her the name Yachiru after the person Kenny admired most, Unohana Yachiru. And remember names have power as said by Ichibe. And ever since she's been right by his side. In the Gremmy fight when Kenny saves her and starts fighting him Yachiru is watching the fight and the "new" Kenny. And when Kenny calls his Zanpakuto's name and releases it for the first time we don't see Yachiro after that. When the fight is over we see Kenny looking for Yachiru just to find her Shinigami robe folded neatly and placed on the ground with Yachiru nowhere to be found. Disappeared. But she didn't disappear because she was by his side just as she always was. Yachiru was Kenpachi's Zanpakuto the entire time. His Zanpakuto fully manifested a physical form, a form strong enough to be a lieutenant for who knows how many years. To be by Kenny's side and fight alongside him since she couldn't as his sword yet. We were led to believe Kenpachi had the worst relationship with his Zanpakuto when in fact he had one of the best relationships someone could have with their Zanpakuto. Beautiful and thematic ass shit by Kubo there for Kenpachi. For Toshiro's Bankai we the fanbase and even the characters in the show assumed that his petals breaking was the time limit of his bankai. You can see it in this episode with Byakuya telling Toshiro to shut off his Bankai when he sees his last petals falling. Even the enemies he's fought assumed this was the case. But...throughout the series Toshiro never confirms or denies this is true. Daiguren Hyōrinmaru = Grand Crimson Lotus Ice Ring

PurelyRed

#SundayRundown SO THIS IS A BIT LONG, BUT A NECESSARY EXPLANATION ABT YACHIRU + moments of foreshadowing of Yachiru's true nature. So, it has been officially confirmed by Kubo to his fanclub that Yachiru IS in fact the manifestation of Nozarashi, Kenpachi's blade. Because Kenpachi couldn't hear her, she had to manifest herself in a way that he COULD perceive her, and that was why Yachiru was born. This was something hinted even WAY back when we first met Kenny--Kenny found Yachiru as a nameless baby in one of the worst areas of the Rukongai, District 80, where he was from, a place described as a lawless place full of thieves and murderers. Logically, no baby would have been able to survive as she did AT ALL in such a place. But Yachiru did. And as shown when he asked for her name, she placed her hand right on his blood covered sword, foreshadowing her trying to tell him that "I am your sword." / "I am the partner that has always been swung beside you." This is subtly echoed unconsciously by other soul reapers + other moments: - When Ichigo first meets Yachiru, he doesn't say "WHO are you?" he asks "WHAT are you?". - Yachiru is somehow always able to sneak up on the other soul reapers (even highly ranked ones) and surprise them - When Yachiru's spiritual power manifested when she was upset at being interrupted from viewing Kenny's fight in the earlier bleach episodes, it manifested as a raging demon. (https://www.youtube.com/shorts/utrK_pxAvuA) - Yachiru's Shikai is commented to be odd. She doesn't need to speak it to release it, and it takes the form of two creatures, with the basic function being "even if Yachiru's attack misses, the other two creatures follow up attacks will still hit, calling back to Nozarashi's function-- "if you wield me properly, there's nothing that you can't cut." - When she tells Kenny about Bankai, Nozarashi's beaten down / chipped form is reflected right in her eyes. The most solid confirmation of ALL is how after Nozarashi's voice FINALLY reaches Kenny, and he unlocks his Shikai of the blade and releases it...Yachiru disappears. Completely. She just vanishes, leaves behind her badge and her uniform. If she was taken or dead she would have been taken clothed, if she was dead, there would have been blood. Yachiru disappeared BECAUSE Kenny finally heard Nozarashi, and there was no longer any need of her to be in a form that he could physically perceive in order to reach him. Kubo has also officially confirmed that Kenny's bankai in fact, manifests as an adult young woman, which is why when we hear Bankai, it does so in both Nozarashi and Yachiru's voice, since they are one and the same. But why a young woman? It's my speculation but this is probably because the person that Kenny has admired the most for the majority of his life is none other than Yachiru Unohana. Nozarashi was formed after being stolen from a shinigami and Kenny forcibly imprinting his soul upon it (which turned her into his sword). Naturally, it would take the form of what he admires / needs the most, or in a sense IS like the most, and that is a demonic butcher--of which in physical form, there is no other more prolific murderer and butcher than the one Kenny truly admires and the one he ultimately named Yachiru after, Unohana herself.

PurelyRed

She never said that she was his blade. She never said either that she was a soul reaper. The soul reaper conclusion was always something that others have drawn for her, because she came from the exact same district 80 that Kenny did -- of which souls and soul reapers all come from. She never renounced the name Yachiru, whether consciously or unconsciously tbh.

iman

Nah she implied what her existence was in her flashback during the soul society arc. She also wasn't discovered in Kenny's district, which was Zaraki. He found her in Kusajishi, and whether she renounced her name or not, she certainly renounced the identity he gave her.

Shockzz1234

See but this makes me wonder what the ice petals will do when he's older? Will he become an even older Toshiro, like a middle aged version of him? Or will the petals disappear when he actually becomes an adult (in like a thousand plus years lol)?

Shockzz1234

Also, I could be wrong, but the forest area we see in this ep seems to be Zaraki's Inner World, probably based off of the same forest where he first met Nozarashi/Yachiru. Which means it's the only one we've seen other than Ichigo's (we also see one in CFYOW, but that's yet to be animated ofc). I wish we could see more inner worlds!

Shockzz1234

And with Lille, even after being defeated that fucker STILL split off into smaller bird things that are currently attacking the Seireitei lol.

Michael Acuna

It's enjoyable in some parts, but we can save that for a later reaction.

Miasimon

We finally meet them: Biblically Accurate Kenpachi Captain Hitsu-Gyad Damn And Ichigo's latest drip.

Adan Guzman

That’s how I looked at it too. In the manga, Zaraki reunited with Yachiru in the debris of the ground of the Warwhelt where he was lying in so it seems like the team added something new for us to see and would make more sense that only he can see her. Even though it’s crazy how Zaraki got a Shikai and Bankai in the same arc, I never had a problem with it because he always had such a close bond with his Zanpakuto Spirit without even realizing it.

Askin Nakk Le Vaar

You guys are correct to assume they should attack the cross that emerged from Gerard’s body since Kubo confirmed recently in Klub Outside that destroying it will put down Gerard for good and will prevent him from coming back. The anime added the cross turning into a heart to further remind us that it’s the power of the Soul King’s heart. I don’t know why the cross didn’t emerge a 2nd time after freezing and shattering his body but that’s how it was in the manga too. Did the Captains make a fatal mistake and missed their opportunity to attack it? Find out next time on BLEACH TYBW!

Raz

Fun fact: when Kenpachi first meets Yachiru in that forest when she's an infant and crawling on the ground, he asks her "where did you come from? What's your name?", she points at and touches Kenpachi's sword. And yes, she is his sword, much like Stark and Lillynette, both were lonely and unconsciously split their soul into 2 pieces to have one another around.

Bakerz

Welcome to..

Castiel_01x

Corrections: Urahara sliding on the stitches was there in the manga as well, but it was just in one panel and was not highlighted either. That is why Kubo was impressed with Taguchi, the director, for how he was able to recognise its importance. As for the Uryu-Jugram fight, it was not completely different, but a lot of additions were made. Externalising a zanpakuto spirit is possible. We saw Old Man Zangetsu manifesting on his own during Ichigo's fight with Kenpachi, just like Renji's Zabimaru manifesting while he was jailed. Others are also able to see the spirits, like how Yoruichi saw Old Man Zangetsu during Ichigo's fake Bankai training. Yes, that was made possible through the usage of Urahara's device, but that is more due to Ichigo's lack of experience, which prompted the need to use a device. In fact, we saw Renji externalising Zabimaru on his own, which Ichigo and Yoruichi saw when he came to warn them about the change in Rukia's execution date. Basically, Yachiru is Kenny's zanpakuto spirit. I won't go too deep into it, as other comments have already explained it, but I'll mention the moments leading up to this point. Ichigo vs Kenpachi fight, the Kenny vs Nnoitora fight, Kenny vs Gremmy and Kenpachi's flashback with Yachiru. She also said in this episode, "If you use me properly," which essentially confirms it. Kenpachi's Bankai is so epic but also so emotional for me because of what it represents, given the relationship between Yachiru and Kenpachi. I'm so sad for Kenny because of how alone he would be after this (the ED portrays it too). He essentially lost two of the most important people in his life through Unohana and Yachiru, making him more alone than he has ever been. The two women's voices that said Bankai are Yachiru's and Unohana's. Yachiru is Kenny's young zanpakuto spirit in Bankai form, similar to Tensa Zangetsu, while Unohana's voice probably reflects his zanpakuto spirit in adult form, like Old Man Zangetsu. Unohana's involvement can be confusing, but like how Ichigo's soul reflects his journey (I'll explain this further below), Kenpachi's also reflects his journey. His fight with Ichigo recontextualised his worldview on fights, as he asked to connect with his zanpakuto for the first time after that. This is reflected in his sword's colour, as it is similar to the OG Zangetsu sword Ichigo had at the time of fighting Kenny. Unohana, meanwhile, helped him to return to his old self, and that impact is reflected in his soul spiritually. Yachiru's eyes reflect the zanpakuto Kenpachi always had before his awakening. That is such a cool detail. Kenpachi's body being unable to handle the power was hinted at earlier by Gremmy's defeat. It was also established by now through several scenes that attaining Bankai is not enough, as you also need to master it. The mechanics behind Kenny and Yachiru are influenced by the conceptualisation of his ideals and identity. Yachiru tried to connect with him on her own, but he was not ready despite her manifestation. Kenny also "regressed" after his fight with Unohana the first time, which did not help his case. As for Yachiru's persona since then, it is down to what Kenpachi did. He gave her the name Yachiru and imprinted an essence into her psyche, as names have power in them, just like Ichibei said. With Toshiro, Shawlong assumed that his Bankai was timed, but Hitsugaya never corrected him, so we, as viewers, thought that Shawlong said the truth. But we saw after the fight with Shawlong that it was not timed, and Toshiro's body could not handle his Bankai, just like Kenny when all the petals were gone. There's also a moment during the Harribel fight where he alludes to the fact that his Bankai has room to grow. Another hint towards this adult form is when Toshiro said in Cour 1 that he had achieved True Bankai after the fight with Aizen, but he must look forward to retraining the basics after losing his Bankai to Cang Du. Adult Toshiro is so funny. When he grew, his clothes tore off, but since he had to aura farm, he froze the areas where they tore off to make his design look even cooler, pun intended. I also love how he said he does not like this form. After all, this is a shortcut to what he would be in the future. His powers age him forcefully, as he simply can't handle it at this moment. It is not natural. He realises that he has room to grow, which should come naturally, as we have seen it through Ichigo. Toshiro's concept freezing power is pretty OP, and it scales past elemental control as well. He essentially froze Gerard's hope that resided in his sword. After all, Gerard causes damage reflection when opponents shatter the hope, raining down despair. Byakuya's evolved Senkei might seem underwhelming compared to the other two, but it shows how he has achieved the next step in progression. His Senkei, while being effective against other foes, was also caging him in it as well in the past, but since he knows more about himself, he is now able to use that cage on others specifically. I can't express how much I love that Orihime Ichigo moment. Their arcs, coinciding since long ago, finally culminate at this point. It is so good. The way the shine came back to Orihime's eyes when Ichigo assured her was perfection, due to the trauma associated with what she experienced during the Ulquiorra fight. Kubo called this form Half-Hollow Ichigo, but we manga readers like to call it Horn of Salvation, as it was the chapter title of the associated material. In this form, Ichigo has taken in everything he has learned through the story so far and has embraced it to reach this point in his journey of enlightenment. The one horn resembles the Merged Zangetsu he fought during the Final Getsugatensho training, while the marks show how much the Lust chapters (Ulquiorra fight) impacted him. Mugetsu was portrayed as a form of enlightenment during his fight with Aizen, but that could not be the case due to his design. It changed him completely. Yes, it is parts of him that are expressed outward, but the journey of self-actualisation does not change you completely as a character; rather, you retain your core while improving as a person. That is why Horn of Salvation is a superior form of self-actualisation, as it is still the Ichigo that we know despite having additional elements that reflect his journey. Then there's another great moment when Ichigo says he is still not able to call out this form at will. This shows that self-actualisation is a constant journey and there are no end points to it. The anime is cooking yet again with these meta elements. The episode ends at the very moment when Ichigo cuts through the story as Yhwach has become one with the narrative (I explained this layer in the previous upload). This directly follows what Yhwach did previously, as Ichigo, the protagonist, is wrestling to get control back over his story. The Gran Ray Getsugatensho Ichigo used to cut Yhwach is very symbolic. It is shaped like a crescent moon, which is representative of Ichigo, while Yhwach is presented as the black ink of the manga itself (difficult to translate into the anime format). Additional info that was in the manga: Since Ichigo is zen at the moment and there's balance within his soul, he absorbed Yhwach's Quincy spiritual pressure to unbalance it, thereby releasing the Hollow outside, hence the form. There is also a cut dialogue. After transforming, Ichigo gives his rebuttal to Yhwach that he got the Quincy powers from his mom and not from him, while also acknowledging Old Man Zangetsu (who is a representation of Yhwach in his soul), further stamping down that he has agency. Ichigo's and Orihime's poem at the end mirrors Isshin's and Masaki's in Cour 1. In the last upload, I explained how the Almighty is shared between Jugram and Yhwach, but why people get confused is because Yhwach is not using it at the moment. This is because of the dynamic between Yhwach and Ichigo, as Yhwach genuinely want to feel the fight/conversation he is having with Ichigo, since Yhwach is the story itself and Ichigo is his magnum opus as the protagonist of the story. That's why I'd have to disagree with Chris a bit. Yes, Yhwach is presented like a video game final boss, and there are aspects of it too, but his words and actions have a genuine fatherly meaning behind them in the sense that he's coaching Ichigo to be at his best in his own twisted way, unlike what we usually see in video games. Sorry for the long comment, but it is the end of the story, so the content gets denser as it goes on.

Wait, did you wait to change your profile picture until AFTER they had seen the Gremmy/Kenpachi fight? Because if so, that is some impressive dedication to a bit that I can only marvel at. I'm not being sarcastic either; im completely sincere.
