#SundayRundown Bleach TYBW 🔥BLEACH🔥 Cinema Greatness! 🙌 This episode is packed with major anime-original content. The only episodes that come close in originality were Eps 26, 30, and 33. Whether you’re an anime-only or a manga reader, nothing could have prepared us for this one. And the best part is this still isn’t the peak of the part or the arc (keep an eye on Episode 49 — it has the potential to be one of the best in the entire series). This might already be anime of the year material. Orihime out here with the defensive amps protecting her man as best as she could like nobody’s business finally living up to the sword to his shield. This was foreshadowed by Aizen when he said “This is a rejection of phenomenon.” “Her power limits, rejects, and negates events that happen to an object. She has the power to return things to their state before things happened to them.” “It’s above time regression and space regression… “It is a power that encroaches on the realm of the gods.” A true goddess and Wifey for Lifey with Peak Femininity. To all men, Find yourselves a woman like that fellas, never settle for anything less. To all the haters that find her to be too annoyingly and innocently nice, and ppl that only focus on her natural fully developed body or “Kurosaki-Kun” mutters out of her love & care for him, She Rejects!!!! Ichigo’s new form feels like it could be a teaser in itself for what’s still coming, so it’s hard to talk about without spoiling. Let’s just say it hits on a similar level to Episode 6 — not just in the animation, but in the weight of what it happens. What I will say is that his GetsugaTenshō was always meant to resemble the moon as it translates to “Moon-Fang-Heaven-Piercer”. Bleach TYBW Episode 45 – “Defend You” Keyword page Ichigo of the Blood Chain “This is the ultimate form that Ichigo Kurosaki, having awakened the Hollow blood slumbering within him and undergoing a hybrid half-Hollowfication known as the ‘Horn of Salvation,’ transforms into along with his Zanpakuto when he unleashes his True Bankai. He now wears two horns reminiscent of complete Hollowfication, and spiritual pressure in the form of blood chains emanates from his neck, hands, and feet. In his battle against Yhwach, who had absorbed the Soul King, he manifested a new dimension of power in terms of spiritual pressure, physical function, and reaction speed utilizing and drawing from its power that all of his mixed races reflect.” Everything from the art & animation, pacing, soundtrack, direction, storyboard, voice acting, compositing, sound design, to the emotional impact (especially the ending) is a masterpiece. Massive thanks to Kubo, director Tomohisa Taguchi, and everyone at Pierrot Films. They’re firing on all cylinders with this finale, especially this episode, for the 10th anniversary since the original end of the manga on Aug 22nd, dedicated to none other than ICHIGOAT & AURAHIME! Last thing regarding the reaction, Navi is hilarious with the jab of the opening song not playing during the credits, saying that Bleach hasn’t seen JJK when this isn’t JJK but better, can you imagine if the opening played immediately after Orihime’s sacrifice? That would’ve been downright terrible taking away from it, that’s why they played the actual ending song instead, which completely fits the scene, unlike when it didn’t fit in JJK after Yuji saw the devastation of Shibuya.

#SundayRundownBleach This is hands down the best episode in cour 4 until now and one of the best episodes of Bleach ever. Orihime has become one the best female characters and any slander calling her useless has been rejected out of reality. This episode focuses on this philosophy about what power is, the difference between the conqueror power Yuha wields and the power to protect that Ichigo and Orihime claim to fight for. She constantly curses her “weakness” and searches for a way to protect despite it being a “weak” form of power. It all culminates in this beautifull insight to her character where it is revealed that she wishes to cover the world in her shield and reject the concept of violence and suffering so that no one ever has to suffer like she or her friends did. Finally she unleashes her potential and apparently sacrifices herself to erase God from existence. If you remebered, her powers are linked to her mental state, the better she is the faster she heals or the stronger her shieds are but since she is to gentle and caring she was unable to muster killing intent and her attacks were weak but now because of the love for her friends she is able to conjour the strenght to erase Yuha from existence, mind you that this Yuha is the strongest being in Bleach and the closest to a god, so Orihime is now top 3 in the verse and solos your favourite universe. Also please you have to search for the memes the community made for this episode, Aurahime cannot be stopped and you should bow to her magnificence and bread. 2026-09-30 22:00 THIS is the episode I was talking about when I commented about Bleach TYBW being some of the best anime I've seen and how I couldn't wait for you guys to catch up, I feel like this is the gold standard when it comes to adaptations along with JJK and Demons Slayer, so many working parts the soundtrack, animation, cinematography, all firing at full cylinders to bring the best out of the manga and elevate it to new heights. Absolutely legendary comeback for an anime and fandom that was basically forgotten at that point, but then this entire last arc has been made with so much care and quality, plus Kubo's personal involvement AND entirely new material like this episode to truly make this an unforgettable series in my opinion. S tier anime. I'm so excited to see what happens next. It truly was such a letdown when the manga ended rushed and lackluster, but now I have hope they will be able to stick the landing with something spectacular.

#SundayRundown Navi did remember right. Kudos to her. That was the thing that Uryu used that took away his powers. He used it on Haschwald to get rid of his powers in the 3 second gap. And also....THATS WHY ITS ICHIGOAT AND AURAHIME BABY!!! Thats why its always been Ichihime!!!! That's why ICHIHIME is ENDGAME!!!! Thats a POWER couple!!! A couple of GOATS!!!! But yeah, amazing episode.

CoreBear

Context on the glove Uryu used. It's the same glove he used back in the Soul Society arc to fight Mayuri that afterwords made Uryu lose his Quincy powers. His plan was to forcibly put it on Jugram and activate it to take his powers away.

Step B.

Ichigoat and Aurahime will never not be the greatest nicknames of all time

s4ean

The dub for this episode is sort of strange... some of the slight line changes, and changes in voice cadence make things seem off somehow. Rukia comes off as more cocky where in the sub it's just confidence (which is weird because she's not dumb enough to walk into this situation being cocky). Orihime's final lines at the had a better delivery I think as well. They were supposed to be what she was saying when we were only shown her mouth moving, but in the dub they sound more like an afterthought.

Step B.

When I tell yall this episode blew everybody's expectations outta the water you truly don't understand how massively insane this episode was for manga readers and anime only viewers alike. Unfortunately I can't really go into WHY it was so monumental for us manga readers for another episode or 2 because it concerns events you haven't seen yet, BUT what I will say is this battle with Ywhach and Uryu's battle with Jugram have gotten the most love and attention compared to the very short and rushed confrontations we got in this portion of the manga. Oh and if you wanna know about this new Bankai form Ichigo has you can google it since it's an entirely new thing for everyone we only have very little info and speculation on this "Ichigo of the Blood Chains"

HalGLC

I don't think Rukia was cocky, I think she knows that Ichigo gets in his own head, so she plays off the sibling dynamic they have. This may be headcanon, but I'm reminded of her and Ichigo's little spat on the bridge with Byakuya, she knew he was miles more powerful than Ichigo at the time, but because he was focusing on telling her to shut up and appreciate being rescued, he never seemed nervous.

HalGLC

Throughout this episode, Orihime kept repeating over and over how she wished her powers were stronger Where does Orihime's power come from? Originally, the Hogyoku. What does the Hogyoku do? At its core, it fulfills wishes

The english dub is not that great on certain characters..

2026-09-30 20:00 I adored the visual presentation of the Horn of Salvation (Ichigo's one-horn form), seemingly portrayed as being crucified by Yhwach's black power. I also loved the ideological battle between the power to protect and the power to conquer that this episode focused on. There's also a cool callback in this episode: Yhwach stabs Orihime five times, which references the five-lives monologue Orihime gave when she came to see Ichigo before leaving for Hueco Mundo. The number of times Yhwach killed Ichigo in this episode alone, only for Orihime to bring him back, is crazy. Yhwach even beheaded Ichigo the last time it happened. Kubo often uses comedy to establish lore or characterisation. We know Ichigo accepted his hollow side during Final Getsugatensho and realised the truth during the Blade is Me, but it is cool to see him be proud of his horn as he was bickering with Rukia. Powerscaling is the least of my concerns, even in Shonen battle stories, but it was funny to see the powerscalers being thrown off by Rukia's involvement. On face value, it makes sense, but they never seem to apply context. Yhwach was mocking Ichigo when he fought alongside Rukia by saying that "that's an interesting type of power, as it only shackles you". That statement gives away how Ichigo lowered himself to sync better with Rukia, and Ichigo himself follows up on it by asking Rukia to speed up as he starts to exert more after that while still trying to sync with her. Yhwach's mocking statement further plays on the power to protect vs the power to conquer, as Ichigo is depending on others on his side of the ideology. Unfortunately, in terms of thematics, Ichigo regressed a bit when faced with the threat of fate itself in Yhwach. He stood by the power to protect but decided to tap into the power to conquer, as he wanted to protect his friends and the world. This is signified by his two-horn form (Blood Chains Ichigo). Yhwach also comments on this by saying that in this form, Ichigo almost does not need to depend on his friends and can fight alone. That is against the thesis of the story. Hence, a regression. Even the blade itself is a visual representation of it, as it does not seem "sharp" enough to cut down someone. I know it is a simple thing thing but it does matter. Another example of it is how Ichigo's appearance also changed. He lost his features in this form, which is also important. Self-actualisation does not mean that you lose the essence of what you are as a person. Horn of Salvation, for example, is celebrated, and while it did have characteristics that we do not associate with Ichigo, that form still retained his main feature, like his hair, which is indicative of a healthy progression. Horn of Salvation's horn is on the left side of Ichigo's face, and left is associated with progression in Bleach (Pernida/left hand of Soul King/advancement). Blood Chains, after being cut down by Yhwach, had just one horn on the right side (Mimihagi/right hand/stagnation). Yes, Blood Chains had two horns to begin with, but when the form was forced to be compared to the Horn of Salvation in a similar case, the link is there, imo. There's yet another visual representation, as Ichigo seemed caged within the environment. Yhwach used his black power to shoot beams from several pillar-like structures while Ichigo used chains to block them. Imo that feels like a jail. There's further proof of this regression when looking at the underlying narrative of Ichigo's words and how it reflects the poem from ep 44. Ichigo said "I need this power to protect" and not "this is the power to protect", which is the main ideological essence of this episode. His poem from the last episode was "There is nothing I can do; I just want power". That is not indicative of a healthy progression. Orihime is the one who followed up on that poem by focusing on the power to protect. Ichigo self-actualised during Blade is Me, and yet he did not even call out his Bankai's name, showcasing a hesitation of some kind, providing more weight to this interpretation. After all, names have power in them, and yet he did not call it. Of course, Ichigo has not regressed too much to go all the way back to his flawed ways in the Arrancar arc, where he shoved aside his friends by taking it all by himself as a way to protect them. He is still self-actualised, but under the circumstances, he was forced to regress. He still accepted help from Rukia, and Yhwach also said that this power "almost" screams that he does not need his friends. This further highlights how the journey to enlightenment is not a straight line and will have its ups and downs, and even outside factors can play a role in your life. In terms of mechanics, imo Ichigo tapped into the Soul King's power, which he has access to after undergoing Irazusando under Ichibei's supervision. The black reiatsu is similar to Yhwach's own black power, too. That, in turn, is reflected in his abilities, thus resulting in the Blood Chains form. His Getsugatensho still had his essence, as it showed a crescent moon (representative of Ichigo) while tapping into that Soul King power. Suraj touched upon Yhwach being alone, which is true, as his existence goes against what Bleach stands for. TYBW anime's adaptation of the chapter God Like You is a watered-down version, which provided a great deal about what Yhwach is and how you can characterise him. His flashback with Ichibei did offset the problem somewhat, but that was not enough. Yhwach is simply conditioned by his existence, which is what makes him "alone". Suraj also noticed Jugram's change in personality. It is down to him projecting a persona as a way to cope with having killed Bazz-B. It is also down to how delirious he is feeling at having the opportunity to access Yhwach's powers, considering his devoted loyalty. Uryu is a low-key performer in this episode with his contribution. He clocked in on the weakness of the Almighty when it is with Jugram. He then used the glove he used against Mayuri to strip Jugram of that power, as that is the consequence of using that glove, which Navi clocked on. Now for the star of this episode, Orihime, my girl, I've always loved you. Aizen also knew her worth from the start, as he was the one who said that her power rivals the gods, and that is what she did here. I'm so happy for all the love she got after this ep, but I'm also sad that people needed this ep to really appreciate her, when it's her journey across the series that led up to this point to give this the value that it had. I loved how Yhwach recognised Orihime's worth as the battle went on. He initially called her a woman in a mocking manner and, at the end, he said her name, indicating a greater acknowledgement. Even though Yhwach said that she was throwing her life away, and the direction also conveys this emotion, the primary message is that she was embodying the power to protect. This could be the awakening of her Fullbring, which Ginjo talked about in the Fullbring arc, and how there needs to be someone to contain it, or else it could cost that person's life. She knew it was a sacrificial move (selfish sacrifice is something Kubo advocates against through many examples like Gin), but her intent was still to protect, conveyed by how she wanted to envelop the world with her powers to get rid of all the pain and suffering. She reached enlightenment in her arc, but the sacrificial nature was an unintended consequence coming from a good intention. Yhwach tried to use Ichigo as a way to hinder her. Despite that, she continued to go past Ichigo, showing how she broadened her scope to protect Ichigo rather than just looking at what simply lies in front of her. I'm devastated for Ichigo. My boy regressed and had to see another person, Orihime, sacrifice to protect him. Masaki's sacrifice is what shaped his character, after all, and to experience that all again is too brutal. Orihime is even portrayed as Masaki in this moment. Both of them have been called the sun previously in the series. This is the greatest episode in Bleach so far. As for Navi's doubts regarding Rukia's Bankai, her Bankai was a one-hit AOE, and she would not have been able to move after the attack. But since thematics and mechanics align together in Bleach, like how Ichigo's increase in strength has always aligned with his growth as a person, she was able to gain more freedom to move as she developed her insight through Byakuya. The latter warned her about the current condition of her Bankai by saying there's nothing that can be saved by throwing your life away in exchange for one's sword (this is Kubo further doubling down on how he views selfish desires after we saw Komamura throw his life away for revenge a bit earlier). This made her reflect and grow as a person, which in turn is seen in her powers. Yhwach wasn't using his Almighty throughout this fight despite having access to a portion of it. I explained the details in previous uploads. I am trying to condense my comment as much as possible, so if you're interested in why he wasn't using it, then please feel free to check it out at your own time. Sorry for the long comment, but it is the end of the series, so the content gets very dense. 2026-09-28 21:02 I adored the visual presentation of the Horn of Salvation (Ichigo's one-horn form), seemingly portrayed as being crucified by Yhwach's black power. Yes, Blood Chains had two horns to begin with, but when the form was forced to be compared to the Horn of Salvation on the same level, the link is there, imo. #SundayRundown #BLEACH Navi is confusing 2 different things when it comes to Rukia's power. Her bankai doesn't kill her. In shikai form, she lowers her own body temperature to the point that it "kills" her nervous system. That's what she used to become immune to Äs Nödt's fear power during the first phase of their fight. When she finished him off with bankai, her frozen body was starting to crack, and Byakuya stepped in, telling her to melt it slowly; thus revealing her bankai to be high-risk/high-reward that leaves her vulnerable. --- I cried exactly once when reading "Naruto". (It was the 2-page spread of the final "Forgive me, Sasuke." IYKYK.) There were a few times I came CLOSE to that in "BLEACH", but never got there...until watching this episode. 😢🙏🏽 FYI, it was after this episode that the Auswählen of reaction channels began; leading some to speculate that toxic fans of other series were responsible. In reality, the overwhelming response to this episode brought TYBW to the zenith of its popularity, which caused the toxic companies who troll for copyright strike opportunities to take notice of channels they hadn't before. Super annoying. 🙄 As for the episode itself, everything about it was utter perfection; from Ichigo's bankai, to him and Rukia joining forces like old times, to Orihime finally getting to be the protector she always wanted to be. That said...Orihime NEEDED this; and as good as it was, I wish she didn't need it. In other words, I don't think this incredible moment was worth her character being a wet blanket for almost the entire series. She laments about not being able to do much, vows to do better, doesn't do better, and the cycle continues, until this episode. I wish some time had been dedicated to, for example, exploring why it is that Orihime has the power to kill instantly (Tsubaki) when that goes against her character (similar to Ichigo's hollow or Hisagi being afraid of his own power). If not that, perhaps a bit of actual training with Hachi or Tessai so we can actually see the process of her improving her shield. Or AT LEAST show us what she and Chad were doing in Hueco Mundo during this whole arc! 😂 I'll post a snippet of a comment I made under a different discussion that fits here: "Naruto/Sakura and Ichigo/Rukia are the pairs that grow the most together, helping each other through physical and emotional turmoil, taking on villains and growing in strength alongside each other, while Hinata and Orihime, respectively, have their biggest growths and journeys alongside OTHER characters - for Orihime it's Chad and the Urahara team, for Hinata it's Team 8 - and that mainly happens off-screen or in filler." --- Oh, and you've never seen Ichigo do bankai since he got his new powers. Until now. 😛

Buddy stfu. Every English VA involved in this episode is a industry veteran and they all did an incredible job especially Orihime's voice actor.

#SundayRundown Bleach TYBW Time to give Orihime all the flowers that she deserves. The thing is, Orihime's power has always been extremely OP. Shun Shun Rikka (盾舜六花, Six Flowers of the Hibiscus Shield; Viz "Six Princess Shielding Flowers") has always had the power to not reverse time, or heal as what we and everyone else previously thought, but the very power to 𝙧𝙚𝙟𝙚𝙘𝙩 𝙥𝙝𝙚𝙣𝙤𝙢𝙚𝙣𝙤𝙣 / 𝙧𝙚𝙖𝙡𝙞𝙩𝙮. Orihime doesn't just undo what has been done to living beings (seen as "healing"), she basically REWRITES the entire "reality" of the situation. If someone is injured, she "rejects" it, which basically "rewrites" the reality of the person being injured. "I reject" is a powerful word and sentence--it composes of the intention to deny, to vehemently refuse to accept or believe in something. And when you refuse even the basis of what reality 𝙞𝙨, you re-write reality. That--is Orihime's power. Re-writing the fabric of reality. The only reason why she has not been OP and is seen as weak is because Orihime is in essence a very kind and gentle person. To her, violence is never an option that is considered. She has never really used her power to attack anyone, even though one of her spirit's powers, Tsubaki, is intentionally FOR attacking. And that is her critical flaw. Because she is so kind, she never really imagines attacking anyone. Because she is so gentle, she always saw herself as a second priority compared to others. And thus the potential of Shun SHun RIkka has always been limited viciously, because its owner believed that compared to others, she was always secondary. But within her flaw lies her greatest power. Because she is so good and kind, she is the only person that is able to cast her final ability, one that envelopes everyone and sacrifices herself, because ultimately that is what Orihime has always been: a self-martyr that has always, always put others before her own self. But because she is so kind and so self-sacrificial, she cannot imagine erasing someone completely from reality without experiencing that pain of it herself. And so when Yhwach dies, erased from reality, she consequentially erases herself to contain him too, because it is exactly what seems like an equal sacrifice to Orihime's reality. That being said, this was fore-shadowed and explained as well by Aizen in earlier episodes. Orihime's powers manifested not because of her proximity to the soul reaper Rukia like everyone thought, but because the Hōgyoku that was planted in Rukia's soul heard her constant chastisement of herself over her powerlessness and responded to her call. The Hōgyoku's power is the manifestation of desire, though that desire and power can only awaken if the person has enough strength to carry it out. And because Orihime cursed herself for her lack of power and wanted to be powerful enough to protect her world and those she loved, the Hōgyoku answered her and awakened her latent powers, and the Shun Shun Rikka manifested into full bloom.

Keep in mind, Yhwach was fighting them all without having the Almighty the whole time. Goes to show how fatal he was with the Soul King’s power and killed Ichigo many times and even DECAPITATED him in a frame you might’ve missed. But Orihime proved to be fatal herself to reject herself and Yhwach out of existence like that.

#BLEACH #SundayRundown #HeHim This entire episode was anime only, barring one panel. An absurd amount of effort went into this and they pulled off one of the best episodes of the series, if not, the best. Ichigo's bankai? Not in the manga. Orihime's power up and death? Not in the manga. Rukia even showing up wasn't in the manga, let alone her using her bankai again. Everyone here has done really well to explain most things but there is something that needs more focus. Ichigo's bankai, specifically, his 'clones' were able to surpass the almighty. We were told that black is the power of chaos, chaos is the power of the soul king(again not in the manga), and Ichigo's clones are bathed in this colour. Ichigo himself is a successful soul king candidate, and this power has led to him being able to counter the almighty ability, if not for a brief period, like Mimihagi. It obviously isn't completely faultless but there was a way to defeat him had Orihime not made the sacrifice play. MASSIVE shout outs to Johnny Yong Bosch and Stephanie Sheh. They brought their absolute best into these performances. Stephanie was able to pull off that anger, bitterness and sombre tone that was demanded from her. Johnny's all around performance is honestly quite understated, his pronunciation of "Ban... Kai!", and that Getsuga Tenshou scream obviously had us in awe. But for me, the best part of his performance is when he realized that he's going to lose Orihime. Specifically, when he helplessly murmurs "Don't", it genuinely felt like he had a lump in his throat, and was in total disbelief of the situation. No surprise that this episode completely shattered you guys, it blindsided everyone. Usually when something like this happens, anime only people refer to manga readers for an explanation and we were crashing out even more if anything. Orihime tweets went triple platinum, I've not seen anything like this on twitter since Naruto when the Tobi reveal happened in the manga(fuck, i'm old). Once I saw Orihime delete Yhwach, I knew it was a filler episode. There's no way they're going to let Orihime defeat the last villain in the series. I can understand why some people enjoyed the episode but I didn't feel anything by the end of the episode. I'm pretty sure Yhwach is going to pull some deus ex machina shit like usual and come back making Orihime's sacrifice for nothing.
