#SundayRundown So! There’s also a ghostbusters video game that came out on the Xbox 360 era that is basically written to be the third movie. All the ghostbusters reprise their roles and the game versions all look young as they were as when this movie came out. You play as a new rookie ghostbuster who tests out all the new dangerous equipment that Ray and Egon create. You wrangle ghosts, investigate haunted locations, and revisit some of the settings from this this film! There’s also totally destructive environments so when you’re trying to blast a ghost you’ll cause just as much damage as the guys do during the ballroom sequence. It’s really a love letter to the series and it’s considered one of the best additions to the whole ghostbusters mythos.

The Terror Dogs still freak me out as an adult, it’s the human teeth between the canines… also the fact that the run animation is quite a bit goofy. Still one of my favorite movie monsters tho.

2026-10-31 20:00 I use to always do the Ghostbusters dance from the music video. Even today it’s still hard not to groove to it.

The funny thing about the cartoon is I remember that somehow they do a weird time travel thing where they go back and accidentally bust the ghosts from A Christmas Carol, which has ramifications.

WATCH PART 2. IT'S ONE OF THE BEST SEQUELS EVER. RIGHT UP THERE WITH: T2 TURTLES 2, ALIENS, ETC... Sequels that surpassed the original.

Gozer said trans rights

Hold on, hold on, hold on! Suraj went to film school?

I'm glad you're reacting to classics like Ghostbusters and Child's Play (even though they're not really scary imho) but if one day within the next 10 years you can include one of the following in your Halloween roster, I'd be truly grateful: Gonjiam: Haunted Asylum, Autopsy of Jane Doe, Hell House LLC Part 1, and Host (the movie shot on Zoom during COVID lockdown by Rob Savage).

Hell yes, you have to watch Blues Brothers. It's one of the greatest movies of all time. Don't think, just do it. (And, Little Shop of Horrors)

I think I only just realized that Janine uses the same “seduction” tactics as Venckman.

"Kenneth Branagh" 🤣🤣🤣🤣

James W.

This fried me, not even remotely Kenny B.

Kenneth Branagh looks nothing like William Atherton. All they have in common really is that the are fair-skinned white men. Atherton is like 15 years older than Branagh. The first thing I saw Branagh in was his film adaptation of Henry V (1989), but I think his first proper Hollywood project was Dead Ringers. Branagh is known primarily for his stage work and his attempts to do faithful adaptation of Shakespeare to the big screen. His Hamlet won some Oscars I think and I loved him in the Lawrence Fishburn's Othello as Iago. You guys have probably seen Will Atherton as the asshole reporter in Die Hard. He usually plays jerks, my favorite role of his was in the Val Kilmer film Real Genius which I bet y'all would really enjoy. Funny movie, cool soundtrack. I think the only place y'all would have seen Ernie Hudson before this is in "The Crow" where he played the cop that helped Eric Draven. For whatever reason, the dude didn't get many roles even though he seemed solid to me. He was on the press tour for the Paul Rudd films and he looks amazing, like 80s years but looks half that, or less. Maybe he traded a bigger career for eternal youth because how good he looks for his age transcends the whole "Black Don't Crack" trope.

Harold Ramis' Egon is so awesome. As a kid when these came out I loved Egon as much as Venkman. Ramis ended up doing work behind the camera later in his career and directed Groundhound Day which was probably Bill Murray's best role until he started doing cool indie movies in the late 90s and early 00s.

I would fold, immediately, Annie Potts is dumb hot. Glasses, accent, and all.

BindingofNack

What about Bob is the ultimate rage bait movie, would make for a great reaction down the line sometime

James W.

I think the second film was more rating conscious. Temple of Doom came out after GB and that triggered the new rating of PG-13. Melting faces and ripping out hearts was too much. The drew the line at heart ripping.

James W.

I just remember how big it was when I was a kid. I was like 8 when it came out and it feels like tailor made for that age. Perfect balances of silly and scary.

"Not the Chinatown Spooks" had me

The other Ghostbusters cartoon Chris was talking about is based on a crappy tv show from the 70s about a couple of ghost detectives and a gorilla but it actually came out before the Arkroyd’s version so they had to co-exist.

Raul Panzar

Fun easter egg since y'all are watching The Sopranos. The actor who plays the Mayor of New York in Ghostbusters is the same guy who plays Tony Soprano's lawyer in the show, David Margulies.

Tom B

Lmao the rant about citizen Kanes story at the beginning is so funny, I love the story of citizen Kane it’s great!

#SundayRundown The guy who played the E.P.A. villain was also the A-hole reporter in Die Hard, the one who out's McClane's identity and almost gets McClane's wife killed in the process. Talk about some of the most hated roles of the 1980s. People have pointed out one of the plot points is the Environmental Protection Agency going after small business owners. This is the 1980s. Some cars were still using leaded gasoline, smog clouds were common in all major American cities, acid rain was a serious problem, Cleveland's river kept catching fire, but noooooo let's go after the real villain the E.P.A. who's trying to kept the small businessman down. That being said, Ghostbusters is awesome.
