How did you all misunderstand the parting scene between Sasuke and Sakura so much....Kishimoto talking about the scene “Growing distant, towards darkness.. the one to appear before him as he began to leave was Sakura. To the back of a Sasuke that tried to face away from what was left behind, Sakura desperately conveys her feelings. Bright and earnest feelings - feelings that did not want to lose Sasuke. The one who filled his lonely existence with the emotion called love was Sakura. But as expected, Sasuke cannot respond to those feelings. Sasuke was only able to leave a single word of thanks as a parting...” I noticed you guys never seem to pay much attention got the emotional storytelling, or character developments. It’s always just focused on action. It’s so dumb because Naruto is an emotional story as well not just all about fighting. And yall already misunderstand the characters so much because toy never pay attention. I’m withdrawing my patreon lol at this point it’s mad annoying

NARDOOOOOOOO SASUKEEEEEEEEE

KELVIN

I'll never understand people that say they're "watching it wrong". If you wanted their reactions to be exactly the same as yours just put up a mirror while you're watching it.

Neal Cabanos

Chris: Hit him with the A word. Rana: No dude is worth that. Me: Nahid, that's a challenge bro, XD

Nolan Pino

I got mixed feelings bout this, but Rana girl I feel you lol I felt the same way watching this scene, something bout Sakura and Sasukes whole relationship just hits different for some reason 😅👍

Rcl

Was that description a reference to The Godfather?

Danny Jeter

I think His brother trapping him in the family massacre nightmare really messed him up

George Byrd

Hld on bruh that Sakura VA went kinda crazy. I felt that man. I never realized that Sakura did have some development early on. She went from not understanding the loneliness they felt to completely understanding it. Lowkey a really good scene

PS

at least Sasuke said thanks

JediMasterSamson

Sasuke definitely comes off as a toxic fuck boy in this, but I think the underlying tone was that he knew what he was doing and he couldn’t let Sakura follow him bc she honestly would have probably been killed by the Sound 4, or died following his path chasing love that he felt he’d never be able to give. I think that’s why he said those lines where “he didn’t remember” or “she’s still annoying”. He did remember and he did have some form of affection for her, but his decision was already made, and it outweighed the feelings he had for her. But he also knew she would not let him go. So he tried to push her away verbally, and it didn’t work so he had to knock her out on some Vegeta/Kid Trunks ish. The whole scene is pretty fucked up though so I can see where the toxicity shows for a lot of people lmao

IKIGAI

i always thought the main reasoning as to why sasuke is so easily drawn by evil and makes these decisions is mostly because of the curse mark. like its corrupting his mind to orochimaru.

Nick

Sakura is so trash, even when Sasukes clearly leaving for his own reasons she tries to make it about her. Then tries to "confess her love" as if thats gonna do anything, like he wasnt already blatantly aware of it already. Worst anime character ever. At least she gets a slightly better in Shippuden

Rah Sheen

Begone thot-no-jutsu lmaoooo 😂😂😂

Darryl

Well the majority of you were "cringing" I'm glad Rana got how sweet the scene was.

Resident stan

Scenes like this one make me cringe when I remember that I used to ship Sakura and Sasuke.

George Byrd

Also Sakura has a childhood crush that probably would’ve went away if she wasn’t on a squad with him. Being on a squad with him made that crush develop into actual love because of how much she learned about him instead of just being attracted to his looks. If Sakura was on another squad then she probably wouldn’t felt so strongly about him to the point where all she cares about is him. That’s just my interpretation

Brian Gerald Ford

The thing with Sasuke is while on the surface he seems like a dick to everyone including Sakura I learnrd after watching and reading all of naruto that Sasuke feelings are a lot more complex and his everything he does has a hidden meaning.

Anonymous

Yeah, orphans Naruto and Sasuke suffering throughout their childhood because of their loneliness and literally having no one around in their lives, yet here she is, Sakura, who has friends and parents, yet still claims that if a guy that barely pays any attention to her and clearly said "no" to her attempts at """love""" left, she would feel just as lonely. And in doing this, the only one she truly cares about is she herself and her own feelings. "Please don't leave ME, come back to ME, it won't bring happiness to ME". ME ME ME ME ME. She's just a selfish immature girl that prefers to live in her own delusions

Neal Cabanos

Sakura: The man I love left me in the village all alone in his pursuit of power. He said thanks and knocked me out before leaving. Zuko: That's rough, buddy.

PS
>>28427499

he's no toxic fuck boy, he made it clear from the start he's not interested in Sakura

Kevin Hansson

"then she hits you up with the a-word", -"a-word?", -"anal". Never laughed so much during these reactions. Glad he is back (sorry don't know his name). Priceless

Idunn Pil Søndergaard

I think I have boiled my main problem with Sakura down to, not actually being a bad character, but a bad character to be in a tree-man-band with Naruto and Sasuke. A lot of three man bands in fiction, especially such as this, boils down to: The leader, The lancer(the second in comand, that in many ways has the closest and most complicated relationship with the leader, and represent the opposite of the leader and at the same time mirroring the leaders character in some way) and The heart. At first glance you could say that Naruto, Sakura and Sasuke fit that pretty well. Naruto being the leader(or at the very least the protagonist) Sasuke being the lancer(representing a lot of thecharateristics I mentioned before) and Sakura being the heart. The hearts fuction in the team is often to be the sort of emotionel core and ground the other characters in what is often a quite "eventfull" world. That is perhaps a slightly reductive way of describing the heart, but you get the idea. The problem with Sakura being the heart in the trio is that, that is bacically Narutos role. Besides his whole "crouching moron, hidden badass" that he has going on, a huge part of is character is being the emotionel core of the story, not just because he is the protagonist but of the way he interacts with the other characters around him. A part of this you see in his whole "talk no jutsu-thing". So whenever Sakura tries to fill the role of "The heart"she can't do it too much or too well, or she will be encroaching on Narutos territory.

Idunn Pil Søndergaard

Sorry that ended up being so long ;) I could actually keep going on how Sakura actually in my oppinion has a lot of cool defining characteristics, but they always seem to overlap with someone elses characteristic, so she can't shine too much in any of them, orshe will be outdoing someone else in thier core characteristic, and as a result, she ends up being kind of average, or really good, but not as goos as someone else in a lor of things, wich in turn just makes her character seem.. underutilized at best, extremely annoying at worst...

I really don't get the troubles some people have with this decision. There are tons of factors and this outcome was basically foreshadowed(more like "thrown in your face") many times before, yet still...

Ghost_Troupe
>>28430955

Many people fail to realize how good Sakura's character arc is. Her whole character arc is about her not being as useful as Naruto and Sasuke. She's average at everything aside from Genjutsu, but Sasuke is good at genjutsu.

Ghost_Troupe

Lol at 15:26 that shot foreshadows the entire series even though it's just a coincidence.

Luis Beltran

I'm wearing the same planet fitness shirt as Suraj right now 😂

Ez

I’m surprise the Normies actually talked a little less during the Sasuke Sakura scene. Props

DSTRYR

Yo Chris is hilarious! The “A-Word”. I love y’all’s chemistry

Jevan

Man the feels this is really the turning point from Naruto too Shippuden (the new outro looks A1)

L

Sakura is a shit ass character. I don't give a fuck what you say. Nothing will change my mind after seeing the entire series a few times. BTT (Big Titty Tsunade) IS BEST GIRL. Sakura should have been replaced with Hinata

Anonymous

Lol, your reaction to Sakura had my dying. Also, love the 100 reference. Love you guys! I'm off to work at a Ramen restaurant lol

John

Stop talking bad about Sakura I feel you Rana 😢😢😢 but this was an emotional rollercoaster I can tell the dudes was shook there reaction to the scene lol also she said he was annoying but not in that way he was being sarcastic

John

When Nahid said thot begone that shit was unexpected I died 😂😂

Karthig
>>28438313

To be honest the author can't write 99% of his female characters for shit. The reason she stands out if she is part of the squad.

llB0JANGLESll
>>28439246

This is the one time I'll be one of the haters on the reaction. I wish they tried a wee bit harder to absorb the moment. They were at the start of Sakura's soliloquy but then they started realizing they might get really sad and started making light of the situation. Its fine tho they can react however they want. I think Rana was about to cry but they nerfed it. Still love you guys but disappointing.

Keep It Zen

"You're --STILL-- annoying" Sasuke definitely remembered. Everything he did there was to try to push Sakura away. "I'm walking a path the rest of you can't follow" He knew it would be too dangerous to give her the chance to tail him. Who knows what the sound 4 would do if they found out someone was on their tail, and Sasuke knows that they're stronger than even him. This, with the fact that he said "Thank you for everything" before he put her to sleep makes it kind of obvious that Sasuke had good intentions for his friend here. I'm not a big Sakura fan by any means, but I think the biases some of you have against her clouded this scene for you.

Tom

Fun fact this episode was voted the saddest ep in part one of naruto by the fans

DAki
>>28443455

it was sad but not as sad as some episodes coming up. All I’m saying is ‘butterfly’ got me...

DAki
>>28442854

wait how the hell did you put paragraphs in this? Thought you couldnt do that in patreon comments.

Crystalrose

this episode was the start of a VERY long journey...

Rain

I didn't realize sakura's desperation was pretty cringe until a group watched it like this lol

Anonymous

Dont put that sponsorship shit in the middle of the reaction, so annoying

Neil Patel

Bro re-watching this episode reminds me of how Kakashi's perfect line of "Those who abandon the mission are scum, but those who abandon their comrades are worse than scum" rings true from Sasuke's first introduction where he says "I have a mission, to eliminate a certain someone". He is presented with the choice here to follow through with the mission, however at the cost of abandoning his friends.

Anonymous

Sakura is amazingly infatuated and diluted. She's 12 years old, claims to be "in love" with him but literally doesn't even know much about him or who he is. Granted, Sasuke isn't easy to open up, but she's so far up his butt how COULD she get to know him? She doesn't understand a thing about his"pain", losing family is not the same as losing a crush. She's just a desperate little fangirl in love with the idea of love and fixated on him.

botanbutton

I forgot how sad that scene was though it was a little melodramatic in English.

Ryan Graham

In all these anime that have more than a single ninja, there's always one that has spider themed powers. The name the two-headed guy mentioned is "Kimimaro"

Benjamin Donahue

I think what you're over looking is that with Sasuke's goal being what it is and everyone preaching at him he does in fact understand that acomplishing his goal will leave him more hollow. He doesn't mind "giving up" his free will because has made the decisions to commit to revenge and not actually face life after it in anyway. It's difficult to realistically understand tha mentality with having ever dealt with true depression or at least suffering almost unbearable grief

Gabriel Moreira

AND THEN SHE HITS YOU WITH THE "A" WORD HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAHAHAHAHAH

MaaikeBrownie

Please do more of the questions like what does Sasuke have to do to make you hate him? It's fun watching you guys discuss that stuff! For me the answer is nothing, hated him and his emo ways from day one :)

ShadowfaxSTF

You should keep doing stuff in the middle. It really grabs the attention, I immediately went to OtakuCharms.com and checked out their wares... it's dope af! Unfortunately I'm a fat guy and none of these cuts will work for me. Maybe in 3 months.

Scar

Why do you guys use fair use timer in patreon?

Narutofreak94

I'm so hype about this arc. I did an episode count for when we hit "the" point in the arc. We have a few weeks lol. I'm excited for the ride.

>>28448483

I think you're ignoring the fact that she is 12 years old. Kids at that age feel like they understand themselves and everyone around them. At this point, Sakura has no goal in life besides being with Sasuke, so of course she's "infatuated and diluted" to the point of saying anything to be with him. There are adults who go through this same thing, so a 12 year old who's got hormones and emotions racing through their head, hasn't yet found a purpose and is still figuring out who they are shouldn't be so ridiculed, even if what she's saying is stupid. She's flawed, but realistically flawed.

skylar

please react to promised neverland!

Cynthia Huynh

When I watched this when it aired, I was so sad he was leaving and Sakuras confession was sad as well. She did love him and didn’t want to break the team up with sasuke leaving. She had her instincts right and tried to get some sense into him but sasuke was already determined to sever his ties to become stronger. In a way, he’s using orochimaru to get to his goal. Also cut Sakura some slack. She’s 12 and in love. Lots of girls her age has been in her situation and I’ll give y’all a pass since I know guys don’t know how to express or relate such feeling when they’re around their friends. Only Rana was able to understand Sakuras sadness and I thank you for that rana. Sakura doesn’t deserve to be hated just because she’s a teenager in love.

Cynthia Huynh

Also sasuke leaving is one of the reasons for Sakuras development. She’ll train to become stronger.

Chaos T

Sakura really doesn't go beast mode until Shippuden.
