BoJack feels like the obvious choice for Reaction Therapy. It’s probably the best exploration of mental health ever put on TV. Addiction, depression, trauma, self-worth, grief, codependency, accountability, recovery, it tackles all of it with an insane amount of nuance. It’s one of those rare shows where almost every episode leaves you with something worth unpacking. I genuinely can’t think of a series that’s a better fit for this channel. Chernobyl is phenomenal, but as a historical drama, I feel it has less to offer in terms of mental health for us to glean. From a channel perspective, I’d also imagine BoJack has a lot more potential to bring in viewers. If I were trying to sway Tom and not you, I’d point out that several BoJack episodes are considered among the highest-rated episodes of animation ever made. I think it would lead to some incredible conversations. Also, for anyone who’s mainly trying to stop The Boys from winning, BoJack is probably the better vote to consolidate around if it’s the only real alternative with momentum. Otherwise you risk splitting the vote and accidentally helping The Boys take it.

I know a lot of people see “cartoon horse” and immediately write it off. I did too. Then I watched it and realized the horse part is probably the least interesting thing about the show lmao. It just uses animation to tell stories that would be way harder to pull off in live action. The thing that surprised me most wasn’t even how depressing it was, it was how funny it is. It’ll have you laughing at the dumbest background gag one minute and then hit you with a conversation that sticks with you for days. I think that’s why it resonates with so many people. It makes talking about mental health feel normal instead of feeling like you’re sitting through a lecture. For a channel built around discussing characters and psychology, I honestly can’t think of a better fit.

I don't see anything that he could bring up in The Boys that hasn't been covered in 80 trillion other reactions over on YouTube. I want shows specifically about mental health. All the trauma and awful coping mechanisms in The Boys are shoved down your throat with zero nuance or room for discussion, exclusively through disgusting violence that Tom would hate

I'm voting Bojack but I won't be upset if Chernobyl wins. Honestly it would be cool for 1 of the show slots to be focused on short series 2 seasons or under. I think Fallout is also an incredible pick but I think it would be better to have on the channel when we get close to season 3, instead of doing it now and having to return to it later.

I wouldn't say the boys is a bad show, I just think its a lot of shock value that is currently being amplified by tiktok culture... Bojack is literally based around mental health and its a show id like to watch more of, only seen a few myself but liked them. But I voted Chernobyl cause its PEAK (literally the last great show i can recall watching, 2019)

I voted Bojack since Barry didn't make it. The same exact shows are always recommended to all the Reactors. Would be nice to have a bit of variety here, with shows that aren't often reacted to that deserve attention.

Chernobyl looks very good and the only one I haven't watched. Seen some of Bojack and didn't interest me. After watching Archer, South Park etc, it just looks crap. I wanted fallout too but not going well. I almost want Bojack to win just so we can stop hearing about it lol. Where did all the Vinland Saga fans go? I have been watching that and really like it. Last poll it did very well.

Bojack is my personal favorite series of all time. I’ve never before, nor since, seen a show with such a funny concept tackle such real world topics like psychology, depression, character, and so much more, all while have genuinely clever humor and a star-studded cast. I implore anyone left who hasn’t voted yet to pick Bojack Horseman. It changed my life, and I bet it might change your own as well.

In what way? TWD literally has people's faces being torn off and eaten, bodies being ripped apart, intestines, blood, all of it. What gore does The Boys have that TWD doesn't?

When is the last time a human being exploded out of the dick of another person in WD? When was the last time someone got a tentacle through their ass and out the mouth? People are torn in half nearly in every episode, a person has sex with an octopus, someone exploded from a bomb up their ass. I never said TWD wasn't gory, but The Boys is gorier and much much more sexually explicit

Bojack really helped me realize some things about myself and some of the people around me. It can even be uncomfortable with how relatable it is, especially when seeing yourself in characters like Bojack. It's a very powerful show, especially season 4 and onward (not that 1-3 weren't great). It has a rough start but after the halfway point of S1 I think it really begins to find itself. Incredibly real stuff, and uses animation very well to tell its story and jokes. I think "piece of shit" is one of the most real openings I've seen in TV. I'd love for some people to give it another shot if it wins. Too many people I've seen focused on the fact it's animated, which is such a silly thing to worry about imo. To me it will always be a special show, my favorite right now for sure.

I agree with all you said. Season 1 gets a lot of flak, but it’s like you said, it finds its footing very early on halfway through the season and keeps that steamrolling into season 2. Plus, the seeds for a lot of things like Bojack’s parents are planted as early as the first few episodes (also, Neil McBeal 😂). The whole animation hate thing is just incredibly immature and ignorant. For one, these people don’t even understand the difference between a genre and a medium. Animation is a medium to portray genres, same as live action. The comedy is incredibly clever and the cast and amazing. Animation has been used to target older adolescents and adults for decades (hell, The Flintstones was targeted towards adults), so the whole argument of “animation is for kids” is just braindead, plain and simple.
