These secondary polls need to be out Longer there was over 900 votes on the first poll that dropped to under 500 votes on the second poll. There were 130 votes or more for all 4 choices on the first poll which only should’ve grown after all the other choices were taken away. This shit smells fishy 🍤🍤

I’m confused why people don’t want to just watch Chernobyl. It’s a short show so we can quickly get it done and then be able to vote again pretty quickly

They aren’t giving the people enough time to vote. Not everyone trolls Patreon every second of the day to see if a new poll is up to cast their vote. To think over 500 people up and decided “oh my show didn’t get picked I’m out.” is ridiculous more like 500 people weren’t given enough time to realize another poll was out. Fallout went from over a 130 votes to like 15 on the second poll you’re telling me 115 of those votes just decided to not vote, for what reason?

Each poll is out for at least 24 hours… the first poll is usually longer bc there are more options. I’m happy to make every poll the same time length for future though if that is what the majority wants! After we have a winner for this show, I can make a poll for some different options!

I really want Bojack, but don't mind Chernobyl. I think Bojack is a masterpiece and a perfect fit for this channel and Tom, but Chernobyl is short and we'd be back here in 2 weeks lol

This is what happens when votes are reduced. Me for instance, I voted round one then did not vote round two because the options didn’t interest me. There are MANY others like that. Extending the voting process to account for every one or two stragglers would just draw it out for way too long

Chernobyl is based on a real life disaster that occurred that affected a lot of people. It's sort of like the Deepwater Horizon oil spill (the movie dramatises too much).

I know it's not in the list since you're still watching Dexter but you should definitely see the sequel shows. Especially Resurrection. People claim it's more graphic than the OG show but I'd say it's about the same.

I am quite disappointed that Fallout didn't make the final vote. Ah well. Hopefully Chernobyl wins since it's only 5 episodes and will be done in a few weeks if Tom watches two episodes a week. (And potentially only two weeks if he loops in the finale with eps 3 and 4)

Ive tried Chernobyl, and even though I find it a fascinating disaster, I thought the series was rather boring... Id rather watch an actual documentary 🤷🏻‍♂️ The boys is fun, but I'm not sure Tom would like it. Doesn't seem to have much mental health in it, but I could be wrong as I've seen only a few episodes... Bojack could be fun. I dont like cartoons/anime, but I do like the humor in it. And its very different from any other show Toms watching. I voted Bojack.

I wouldn’t say bojack is mid. I do know a lot of people that enjoy the show. I would just rather do Chernobyl first because it’s nice and short and every episode is good. You just can’t go wrong with it.

When it comes to real world disasters, I prefer documentaries like "The Battle of Chernobyl". I haven't seen the series, but typically TV changes some facts and exaggerates things. I'm sure the show is highly regarded for good reason, but as someone who has been studying for the last few years I much prefer looking at these, events through a different medium like a documentary instead of a show. I'm sure that someone will have good arguements for why Chernobyl should be picked, aside from its short length, and would encourage anyone voting for it to speak a little on what it offers.

Never watched Chernobyl, but i'm voting for it out of spite, since you trash on every show except bojack, and anyone disagreeing has ''bad taste'' Makes me wanting it to win even more.

Exactly how I feel about these things as well. There are so many good documentaries and they're usually much more accurate than series. Series are often too much focused on characters and often times the charactes are even fictional. I just want the real facts and events as it happened.

Chernobyl is a critically acclaimed series, I’m sure it’s great. I just said that it didn’t interest. Now The Boys, that’s trash. It was trash as a comic and it remained trash as a series.

I get the logic, but I’d rather Tom watch the show that’s the best fit for the channel than just the shortest one. BoJack is one of the best written explorations of depression, addiction, trauma, self sabotage, and recovery ever put on TV. It feels like the kind of show that would generate discussions for weeks or months. Chernobyl is obviously fantastic, but I’m a little surprised so many people are more excited for a historical disaster miniseries than a show that’s literally centered around mental health and psychology. Waiting a couple extra weeks seems like a small price to pay for the better long term series.

I’m honestly surprised by how much the conversation has moved toward “pick Chernobyl because it’s only 5 episodes.” I get the convenience, but I’d rather Tom react to the show that’s the best fit for his channel, not the one we finish the fastest. BoJack Horseman isn’t just another comedy. It’s one of the best portrayals of depression, addiction, trauma, self worth, and unhealthy coping mechanisms ever put on television. It feels like the kind of series that would spark incredible discussions after every episode. Chernobyl is an excellent miniseries, no question. But if the choice is between a historical disaster and a show that’s fundamentally about mental health, I’m surprised so many people are prioritizing the that for a therapist reaction channel.

Yeah, I feel Chernobyl will win but I will keep voting Bojack. This show is incredibly overlooked for its mental health in this community, I was quite suprised how many people wanted a short documentary. My fear comes from it lacking much substance for Tom to react to regarding mental health

*to add, Season 4 of Bojack would be his literal job. Tom iirc is a family therapist and season 4 is INCREDIBLY heavy on the Horseman family

Ive never seen or heard anything about bojack so don’t have anything against it, i just think some people (myself included) really aren’t into watching the cartoons, I don’t say cartoon as an insult I know it’s supposed to be like an adult animation show to my understanding, just always preferred “real” stuff over the cartoons, again don’t mean that as an insult just don’t know how else to describe it

Every comment endorsing Chernobyl seems to boil down to "Show short, show better" when I don't understand how a disaster show matches the theme or knowledge base of the channel whatsoever. I haven't seen a single argument for why it's a better fit other than "le short". Idk it's just weird how more people seem to prioritize banging through a show in less than a month instead of what is actually the more interesting watch. You can't bank on "just watching it after." There's no guarantee BoJack makes it this far in any future poll so if you wanna see win ever, then this is probably the best chance.

The Boys and BoJack are basically rated the same, so calling one "trash" is statistically a pretty hard sell. And if your criticism of Chernobyl is literally "oh no Ukrainian explosion," I don't think you've earned the confidence to call other critically acclaimed shows trash tbh

I think the real voting discrepancy between poll 1, and 2/3 is the fact that in poll 1 you can vote for multiple options, so each person's vote is multiplied. For example, I think I voted 3 different shows in the initial poll. The way to fix the gap would be to only allow a single vote even in the original poll. I will say that there is a ~100 vote gap between poll 2 and 3 though.

I have zero desire to see Bo jack horseman. I don’t really like animated shows. But I don’t think I could watch Chernobyl again. It was just depressing.
