It’s crazy how Naïve or in denial Andrea is, it always surprises me. Like i appreciate her will to try and make peace with everyone but she’s not a stupid woman, she knows it’s impossible to bring together both groups and that her man is a dangerous one. I don’t get her character, but still i have a soft sport for her because she’s trying her best 🥹

There's a wonderful deleted scene that I wish they'd left in. It happens after Carol sees the interaction between Merle and Michonne. Carol brings food to Merle in his cell and in her sweet Carol way welcomes him to the family and then without changing her tone says " if you mess with Daryl, I will slit your throat while you sleep." To make it even better, you can see Daryl in the background crossing his arms and glaring at Merle like " brother or not, if you hurt her in any way, I will kill you"

Hershel has become Rick's guidance which I love so much, such a contrast from beginning of season 2 to now. Rick has so much respect for him, honestly Rick would have stopped in his tracks even if it was Daryl or Glenn who yelled at him. Rick may have initated a ricktatorship, but he has respect for his people, especially when they put their foot down lol. Also TWO EP ON SATURDAY & on independence day? Thank you Tom, happy birthday America!

carl saying that to rick always hurts for some reason. i can't imagine how carl feels or is going through and on top of that watching his father go crazy. omg andrea being annoying yet again. shes a terrible friend i simply can't stand her idiocy & ignorance. it's almost willful at this point. for her to believe the governor after everything. to judge rick while literally sleeping with a mass murderer is insane! and the audacity of her to blame michonne as if she had to poison them against her. she makes terrible choices and has a shitty sense of character. carol gave her a great idea but of course she couldn't even do that.

Gotta give Dale some credit, there is absolutely ZERO percent chance that he would recommend peace with The Governor as an option if Dale knew him. It’d take just one iconic Dale stare for him to know that the Governor is bad news. Can’t wait for you to see next episode, it has in my opinion the greatest scene in the whole show.

Funny thing is, I can't fault Andrea for either decision she makes, to end the governer or not, I mean it seems obvious that to end him is the right choice so if she does I can't fault her, but if I were in her shoes, could I? Probably not... so I can't fault her there either.

You can't fault her for not acting on what she doesn't know, but I fault her for choosing not to figure it out or accept it. She's so blinded by this idea of peace for everyone that she minimizes every single red flag about the governor. What she knows about him already should be enough for her to see that he is unstable, and at the very least, it should be enough for her to invesgiate him further before trying to protect him while putting everyone else at risk. The fact that she came back and told the governor who was at the prison, and that they're all weak and uncoordinated, is absolutely insane.

I've been following your reactions religiously on youtube - I love how well you understand the characters and your reflections on why people may be behaving a certain way, etc. You have a fantastic grasp on motivations and personalities. Jumped on patreon because I can't wait to follow along further with you! One thing I have noticed on here though is that people give away spoilers, accidentally I'm sure but saying how much they love a character/people's relationships and specifying seasons, etc. Gives it away that those characters survive until x season! If you would like a comments moderator on here, let me know - happy to make sure people don't give away plot points and character fates.

Lemme tell ya somethin', Tom. Hershel calling out Rick is a PEAK Hershel moment and it's always a satisfying scene to rewatch. I think you're right that Hershel was the only person who could directly call Rick out on his shit and actually have Rick listen to what needed to be said.
