Dextahh!!

Jesse James

People like Dexter who may or may not kill have literal compulsions to behave erratically. I'm not sure how therapists help handle those compulsions especially if the compulsion is to kill. Exposure therapy comes to mind but I seriously doubt a therapist would help someone kill someone else unless said therapist is another "Dexter". Haha (shrug)

The actors who play Deb and Dexter really deserve more credit... their chemistry never slips, even when the story gets heavy. It's even more impressive when you realize they had a short-lived marriage in real life that ended in divorce... yet they still managed to make their sibling dynamic feel completely natural. That couldn't have been easy to film in these later seasons.

Gaynor

I think they are still good friends too.

Reaction Therapy

I can’t believe they were actually married…was that because of on screen chemistry or were they a couple before the show? And you’re right, to still act after a divorce.:.brutal!😳

* Rose *

I believe they had never met until the show.

Reaction Therapy

No help for Dexter if the wheels are in motion this hard so this would be tough😩

ok, deb mentioned something that i've been waiting to see brought to light in conversation about this show. in the beginning of the series when dexter reflects on harry we learn what deb said which is he should channel his urges to the ones that fall through the cracks, then a little later we witness him intentionally botching reports so the target goes free for dexter to scoop up. and the harry flashbacks become more and more focused on satisfying that urge and how he is defenseless against it. and if a serial killer's mind operates the way an addicts mind operates, at least for me, my memories and thoughts became increasingly about justifying my behavior... also... dexter has got to be one of the biggest egos portrayed on screen. each season focuses on an arch that involves dexter pursuing the suspect in the "biggest case miami metro's ever had" instead of helping with that one case that could save so much face and heartache for the department. he is determined to be the first to get to them. there is so much about dexter that i have still yet to see in conversation and comments about him.

Isaak is such an interesting character. This season is one of my faves

Hannah has immunity, but she might meet Dexter's code. I wonder if he had that in mind when he lied about the blood report. Or maybe, due to the immunity, it didn't even seem like a lie to him since she didn't "need to know" it. Regardless, he should have just told her.

One thing I wondered about was how they had the photos from that reception, but I guess perhaps Dexter grabbed him after and left his camera equipment in his car?

Rob

Gotta love how Dexter completely misses the point of Isaak's story.

Great points Stash, I like what you said! And I think some of it has been talked about a little, the addiction similarity which comes with a huge ego, and him constantly trying to make a situation “fit his criteria” so he can go ahead with it. But one thing I’d love to talk more about is how he sabatoges and undermines the department all the time and Deb has called him out on that. Thanks for this insight😊👍

They got together through the show, but it is believed by fans that they divorced because Jennifer (deb) wanted kids but Michael (dex) didn't because his dad passed away from cancer at 39 and he got cancer himself at 39 and didn't want to pass that along to his kids. They divorced shortly after Michael was declared cancer free

Stash Barber

interesting, i focused my sabotages and undermining on myself, perhaps he is so ego driven he has to focus that destructive behavior elsewhere... i bet if he had never been taught to bend to the darkness he would have been a pain in the ass star detective. basking in all the glory. lol

Jesse James

Do you think in a real life case monitoring someone like that 24/7 would be helpful or cause more resistance?

Ali O

Fun fact, bug spray doesn't repel bugs, it just masks your scent. So bugs can still randomly land on you and bite you Also, Batista is my all time favorite TV cop

Sidney Prescott

i love your reactions but you defending dexter so hard is disgusting, what he is doing is not ok

Demceez

in a fictional world it is absolutely ok what he is doing 👍

Mami's Gatos

She saw him thru thymphoma and him cheating then he left her apparently

Mami's Gatos

Yeah theyre both remarried Idk how one can do that though If u were a bad partner, how can I trust you to be a good friend ?
