You are feeding us with these reactions! Thank you

Ceylen

Completely forgot that we have 4 episodes per week now. What a sweet suprise;)

CampEvolution

In regards to the Woodbury folks, they didn’t even know good people lived in the prison. Everything they were told by the Governor was a blatant lie. They thought they were going to the prison to get rid of murdering psychopaths. Carl made a choice he thought was right, but that kid he gunned was likely just as innocent as Carl.

I like this episode quite a bit, it got some criticism for not having that much action (and because of Andrea stopping to talk a lot instead of freeing herself) but all in all I thought it was nice to have a finale that’s not overly depressing and that ending is great imo.

penguinseizure9

now that you've finished seasons 1-3, which would you say is your favorite?

That little scene between Daryl and Carol means so much more when you remember two things. First, that bike, the one Daryl has been riding the whole time, was actually Merle's. Second, Daryl was kinda hiding in a corner because he isolates when he's mourning. Carol knows that, and sought him out to bring him back to the family that loves him-- and he let her.

Poor Andrea, she was just a heavily misguided person. I dislike her character, but like with Merle, I think Andrea had room for character development, she only sucked as a character because the writers horribly fumbled her place in the world and plot. There were behind the scenes reasons as to why/how Andrea died the way she did, and it caused quite the stir in the fandom. Laurie Holden had an 8 year deal with AMC in regards to TWD. Glen Mazarra decided to kill her off because, "we needed to remind the viewers that no one is safe." and because he couldn't figure out a better way to end the season, so he did it for dramatic shock value. Edit: and if I recall correctly she sued over this and won and got a decent payout for being axed from the show multiple years too soon. (Nvm I was thinking about Frank Darabont's lawsuit. Laurie never sued AMC over her early termination.)

Skyler

I was sad to see her go for this reason too! She is badass in the comics, she had so much potential & they threw it away to early :(

I don't fault Carl for the way he is either.... I might fault Rick a bit because, as his father, he should be teaching him MORE than just how to be a survivor and a killer.... of course, Rick is trying to figure these things out for himself as well. You notice how he was seeing Lori when he was doing the wrong thing.... and when he started to do the right thing he stopped seeing her. I think she was like his conscious... we don't realize it but Lori was actually a really moral person. She was devastated to realize that she 'cheated' on her husband, she didn't agree with the death penalty, she was uncomfortable taking the dead's stuff when they broke down on the road.... whether she was right or wrong she really did always TRY to do the right thing. Rick said 'there was a reason' why he kept seeing her, he didn't know what it was but was trying to figure it out. I think the reason was because he needed a moral compass.

Korivex

Also, thanks for the extra episode today. So glad you didn't hold off on this one until next week. I am grateful that you do as many episodes a week as you do. I love your reactions to this super special, well written show and your Dale impersonations crack me up so much because you do them so well.

Aidan Fitzgerald

Tom, thank you for finishing out the season today! Here I was thinking we were just getting 1 episode (not seeing that Saturday changed to 2 eps), and you surprised us with 3! There's a whole lot more peak ahead! The next few seasons are some of the best imo. Really excited to go on the rest of this journey with you!

i don't think carl should have shot that kid. he's a teenager being corralled by a crazy person. he was scared. yes he didn't put the gun down immediately but he's not thinking clearly. he's the one with asthma the mom was complaining about in woodbury. but i don't think it's about nice it's about surrender. carl has already lost his innocence he doesn't need to be killing more people especially other kids IF there is another way. and i truly don't think that kid had malice in his heart or mind. he was running away because he was scared he's not a cold blooded killer. also i love the way hershel checks rick and how rick listens to him. i'm on hershel's side with this. yes you can't trust just anyone but the group didn't kill them for a reason. they were shooting at their feet and trying to scare them away. i don't think it was necessary or a life or death situation. from my understanding i don't even think carl is 10 yet (i could be wrong) so him being trigger happy is a red flag. i think carl is angry (and rightfully so) and willing to take his anger out on anyone he see's fit and doing whatever he has to to protect the group. but he's a child so he doesn't have the full capacity to know who is a threat and who you need to kill or not kill. i get his reasoning, you don't kill and someone you love could get hurt but it's not that black and white. i recall you saying kids think literally and cut and dry but there is some gray area he might not be able to understand because of his age. like you said he's right and he's wrong. also the governor is a CRAZY PERSONNNN how he just snapped and killed everyone he is seriously messed up in the head. also ties back to what i said about carl. none of them truly wanted to fight or kill people the governor lied and manipulated tf outta them. practically forcing them to do it. i have nothing good to say in regards to andrea smh good riddance 🫡 also i was surprised rick brought those people in. who knows how that will turn out! 👀

Anthony

I would’ve liked Andrea to make it to season 4 for some kind of redemption. And dude that battle at the prison was so trash 😂 No losses on either side just the Governor killing all his crew and dipping 35:30 Lmao Also anyone know whose grave that was in the ending scene?

Anthony

Also I forgot to mention this when the episode dropped weeks ago. But that scene at the end of Season 2 with Daryl looking at the burning barn sitting on his bike, was symbolic to him seeing his mom’s burning house when she died. Can’t remember if I mentioned it but thats a very easy to miss detail since they only give you the backstory later on.

Skyler

This season finale has a much more bittersweet ending, less action packed. But i like it a lot, it shed light on a new beginning that our group is going to pursue! How do we navigate this world when it is solidified that people like the Governor will always be out there? How can we take these 25ish people and intigrate them into our close knit family? Do we keep doors open for new people or do we shut them out? For now they can settle in but for how long? This ep did lack that bloodshed you thought would happen, but I thought it was a beautiful wrap up. The bloodshed is kept at bay, atleast for right now. See you in season 4!

selma🎬🩰

Carl is the "perfect" product of his environment unfortunately, and his dad shutting down emotionally whenever something happens kinda set him up to become like that too. I feel for him.

WeirdAutumn

The funniest things is David Morrisey, the actor that plays The Governor is like one of the most kindest, charitable guys ever. I knew of his work in the UN refugee agency before his role in walking dead. Such a contrast lol

Jack

I can't wait for season 4! I also can't believe you bless us with 3 episodes in one day😆

Reaction Therapy

Season 3 because they have all bonded and built something really cool😊🙏

Reaction Therapy

Thank you! I love this show so much! Appreciate you watching along😊👍

Reaction Therapy

A big risk bringing those people in but they all seem like the best of Woodbury…and so true with Carl, he hasn’t had the guidance needed and parents that stay close…I still think he’s trying to be like Rick but can’t get out of his shadow😢

Elliot

Great reactions once again Tom. Thanks for watching 3 episodes as well. Bet you never thought you would tear up for Andrea and Merle. Me neither. Such a great show that we can hate characters and still have remorse for them. I am not upset about losing Andrea but such a shame we no longer have Merle. The writers couldve had so much fun with his character going forward. But I am so glad Merle went out like a champ.

Elliot

You are correct Tom, you definitely can't blame Carl for shooting that kid. And your immediate comment when you saw him was shoot him haha. Carl obliged.

Kadi

They brought Andrea back. She was the body wrapped in brown fabric on the back of a vehicle. I didn’t expect to watch nearly all of your season 3 reactions. But I did. That’s not happening in season 4. But there are episodes in s4 that I can’t wait to watch your reactions. BTW, TWD should have copied Marvel and said at the end of 3- The Governor will return in season 4. That’s all I’m going to say.

Jesse James

Getting it out of the way now - the first few seconds of this video literally made me laugh out loud. This is TWD, Tom, it makes you sad.

Amy J

When usually stoic Michonne is in floods of tears, so am I 😭

Jesse James

The governor's a manipulator and they like to nitpick facts if it means getting people to side with them.

Jesse James

I think if someone got in Tom's face, like really, it might get under his skin. I don't mean disrespect either. It's just how us humans are, survival mode kicks in when we're in a corner, figuratively or literally.

Thia

Awww thank you for pointing that out about Andrea’s body! I’d never noticed that blanket before but that’s obviously meant to be Andrea coming home with her people 🥹

Djp

Carl wanted to kill someone "only" thing thats bad about it. Hershel is defiantly rright its the time this is wrong for sure he was a kid. Hershel may not be right by saying he was handing it over he looked sus, but he wanted to kill him. which IDK shiii he a lil demon THATS ONE MY GOAT for now but still not a good thing he was a kid that got dragged into it

SixFeetUnderKai

"I just didn't want anyone to die." That can honestly sum up Andrea's intentions and mindset perfectly, as misguided as a lot of her choices were.

* Rose *

Carl shooting that kid has me really torn. On one hand, Carl told him to drop the gun, not hand it over. Reaching out to hand someone a weapon could easily be a tactic to close the distance, grab Carl's gun, or make another move. In that situation, Carl had no way of knowing the kid's intentions. On the other hand, Carl pulled the trigger almost instantly. There wasn't much hesitation or time given to see if the kid was genuinely surrendering. That's what makes the scene so morally complicated,I can understand why Carl shot, but I also can't say it feels completely justified.

Theresa Morley

I don't know, logic says that kid was probably innocent but my intuition says otherwise. I didn't trust the look in his eyes.

Wolfy! Wolfi! Wolfé!

THANK YOU!!! Finally someone agrees with me! Carl did the right thing!! And you shouldn't make him try to doubt himself!

Demceez

I think Andrea holds the record for the most unenthusiastic escape from a life and death situation i've ever seen on TV.. She makes me cringe lol🤣

Edward

Shoot shoot

Edward

No russia

Edward

40:38 call me daddy rick

Dee D

We first met Andrea when she pulled a gun on Rick at the Dept store, then she did it again when he approached her to deal with Amy's corpse. But then she shoots my man, Daryl and that was it for me. I've been ready for her to go!

Amos Smith

1:30 in and tom hits the “white man’s overbite” 😂😂

Amos Smith

fun fact, laurie holden (the actress who plays andrea) has talked QUITE a bit about how stupid the writing was here. andrea made some bad decisions, but she was a survivor. there is no way in hell she would’ve actually sat there for that long.

Ana Saldana

not sure where this rumor came from but laurie holden didn’t file any lawsuits. she was disappointed and frustrated by the way the character was handled but not to that extent.

Angelica Albanese

Yeah, that's my bad. I was thinking about Frank Darabont's lawsuit.

Ash Lee Can

I remember reading years ago that there was beef between Mazarra & Holden, hence the direction of Andrea's character and sabatoge. He didn't even have a real goodbye for Andrea. I believe Scott Gimple had that scene done after Mazarra left, to give Andrea a proper send-off...

Ryan Boddy

30:34 you’re cold as ice Tom Stevens ;)
