only 4 minutes in but I LOVE that when daryl was attacked by tyreese his response was to reassure rick and Carol not to fight back. Daryl saw man was hurting and that he wasn't thinking straight and reached out with words and not violence, what a development

When Hershel said "Daryl and his group" he wasn't talking about an enemy returning, he meant Daryl about to take Michonne and a group out with him to get meds. He knows they'll be more vulnerable in general with all those people out on a run

I don't think Tyreese was making the statement of murder being OK now out of a desire to kill the person responsible, I think he was digging at Rick by implying that Rick doesn't care if people are being murdered under his watch 🤔 which obviously not but then equally Tyreese has only known Rick for a maximum of months at this point, and after their rocky start I wouldn't be surprised if that trust has just dissolved entirely now

I was never really into this show until now so what's in it and what we all went through with COVID, doesn't really get me. The movie Contagion, on the other hand, now that is basically a play by play of COVID. During and after COVID I lost 4 people in my life. 3 aunts and 1 very close friend. My aunts, the jury is out for cause of death, it could have been cancer or sickness or both. My close friend died of a heart attack.

They did such a good job at showing how a strain of swine flu affects someone. Back in early 2010 when H1N1 was going around the world I happened to catch it. I missed almost 3 months of school, my brother was sent home with my coursework and homework assignments and I somehow kept up with them despite how shitty I felt. I was so tired all the time and my whole body ached, and I constantly felt thirsty even though I was staying hydrated. I never coughed up blood though, my throat got sore from all the coughing and that sometimes caused some bleeding but that was it haha.

Herschel said 'there is no telling how long it will take for DARYL and his group to return' so in the meantime he wants to take other precautions while they wait. Daryl is taking a group out to get meds. That young guy was NOT the son of the guy that went over with the governor... that kid was shot by Merle... remember he stepped in front of the bullet that was intended for the governor and the father was shot by the governor on the road.

Accidentally hit enter and didn't feel like adding the rest in on an edit haha. Continuing on with what I was going to say: the only other illness I've had that's made me as bone-dead tired as H1N1 did, was COVID19. I caught it in December of 2020, a few months before the first round of vaccines were made available to caregivers as that was my job at the time. Thankfully my breathing never got bad enough that I needed hospitalization but both my exhusband and I were bedridden for several days. I was so tired and ill for about a month. I was just glad that my client I was working with at the time didn't catch it. I think I lucked out (in the sense of not infecting my client) and got sick on the way home (via public bus with a cloth mask since masks of any variety were a rarity at this point in time) on Friday, because it was Sunday evening into Monday morning where I began feeling shitty so I called off, and spent the next few days scrambling to find a place that would and could test me and my partner who was now also showing signs. I'm sure there are people who can't watch this season of TWD or anything disease related after the COVID epidemic. Virology was another field of science I found fascinating as a child and it's been interesting to see interest in Virology and other infectious diseases increase after COVID and how that interest has influenced media and streaming services which has given us some rather interesting stories to watch and experience.

One thing I’ve noticed about season 4 is that there is a lot less space in between dialogue. Much different from the first 3 seasons. I remember when it aired and it felt different during this season, maybe that’s just me.

Also, I feel like the way people talk starts to feel a lot less realistic compared to the earlier seasons. I believe they got a new show runner on this 4th season.

Maybe I’m not meaning the dialogue all the time, but I thought it was silly at the beginning of the season that Rick wasn’t wanting to use guns? Seems out of character given everything that just happened in season 3. Also Michone got taken down by a couple of walkers on the first episode of season 4, I’m like 🥸come on. Maybe it’s just all of the new characters that kind of throw off the vibe after the first 3 seasons. I’m rewatching this season 4 with you for the first time in like 10 years so my perception of the show is kind of old 😂 but imo the writers start taking advantage of the audience. For example, when they leave an episode on a cliffhanger and don’t start the next episode where the last episode left off 😆 rant over, glad to be watching it with you Tom!

My theory is that whatever made everyone sick was caused by something in the water. Antibiotics wouldn't help something that's viral (spread person to person), it had to be bacterial. Isolating people didn't help because it wasn't being spread that way. Then they have weird troubles with the water stopping because something jammed it and Hershel picks up a mug that says "coffee saves lives"- which has a secret meaning because coffee is boiled, killing bacteria. Anyone who drank only coffee likely wouldn't have gotten it.

If there's anything rhat prison has to have, its cleaning supplies. Bleach, latex gloves, wipes, sponges, disinfectant sprays.. they need to get goggles and face masks on a run. Going in there with a bandana is crazy work. You're right. They should all camp out outdoors for like a solid 3 weeks. And then disinfect the inside really good.

I know a lot of people stopped watching at some point in the series, but I for one think it's worth watching the whole thing. For me, if I stopped watching without finishing the series, I would feel like I've kind of got some unfinished business with it, so I'd have to watch it all. And for what it's worth, I think the series as a whole, all the seasons, were great and definitely worth watching!😁❤️
