They may have had a contingency plan but then I remember that they were prepping to deal with the quarry walkers and then had to enact that plan early. The walkies were all over the place with the different teams. And they are still reacting/recovering from the last 48 or so hours. I think Rick probably had plans in place for the group, it maybe not the whole of Alexandria yet. I think he has just started to include the Alexandrians in this episode as part of the main group.

In that beginning scene, I think the ants were on half of a cookie. Showing how Sam is so tramatized he's not even finishing his cookies any more (something he is known to love).

Morgan was very eager to protect that Wolf partly because he thinks it’s the right thing to do but mainly for the preservation of his own sanity I think. It’s a trope I always enjoy in characters, ones that do what they think is right but for selfish reasons. It reminds me of Erwin Smith from Attack On Titan and maybe Hank Schrader from Breaking Bad a little bit too.

I think playful roleplaying is such an important thing for each kid to try and experience! I've been doing fantasy (as in a sci-fi , or high fantasy worlds like Lord of the Rings, or Star Trek for example) roleplays for as long as I can remember, some in person with my childhood best friend or group of friends, and some online. As I got older I got interested in Dungeons & Dragons and starting doing my fantasy roleplaying there. D&D has been such a helpful therapy tool for me, I've found that subconsciously all the characters I create, the backstories I create, usually tie back into some sort of trauma or feelings I'm still trying to process, and it's actually helped me process certain things.

I love the ants in the house in the beginning being kind of like a metaphor for what was about to happen in Alexandria. Just a load of walkers infiltrating like a load of ants invading the house and feasting on the cookie.

Deanna is my favorite thing from this season. She's such a badass and I love that the writers didn't go down the 'Corrupt Politician' route with her. It was a nice breath of fresh air to get one of the Politicians that actually care about their constituents for a character for once. I wish we had gotten more time with her.
