I love Daryl, he's a genuine badass ❤️

Korivex

Dwight HAD to bring that guy back, one way or the other. It was a mercy killing, he didn't kill him because he liked it. I think Dwight is wearing Daryl's vest and using his bow because he admires Daryl. You are right about how Negan has to rule this place. He is in charge of some very cruel and reckless people but Negan has 'rules'... the fear he puts in everyone helps to make sure they follow those rules.

Jesse James

I was always under the impression that Dwight was using Daryl's equipment as another torture tactic - I got your stuff, what are you gonna do about it? I don't think Dwight admires Daryl, maybe he's trying to understand him but admire? (shrug) What makes all this very annoying is that if Daryl and Negan fought just one on one, I'd bet Daryl would win.

Jesse James

I would think so, he specifically said "you can have any woman you want as long as she says yes" (so, consensual)

Brittany Lewandowski

He's the best and I dont think he's a monster at all tbh. I've bene on Negans side since day 1. I'll be one of the wives no question xD

Brat Princess

Do you really think that them saying yes to Negan is actual consent? Look at the situation again. Think about it. Just because he says it, doesn’t mean that is what is going on. What’s the alternative for these women?

Squeak418

As much as The Saviors are despicable this episode gave more of a glimpse into the inner workings. Negan specializes in reading people then using psychological torture. We all know too well he can physically hurt and kill. I have faith that Daryl can endure anything thrown his way. Even so, it hurts me to see him cry because he is equally as strong as he is sensitive.

Brat Princess

What’s the alternative of going against anything Negan wants or says… for anyone?

Heather

unfortunately, Easy Street is an ABSOLUTE banger 🤘🏻🙂‍↕️

Brittany Lewandowski

They can work normally like most of the saviors do. Go down make bread, scavange ect. You can live a life of luxury with NEgan or work to pay for your meals and everything. Just like the real world. He's basically just a Sugar Daddy. I'd consent to it 100%

Luke Fitton

I think they’re right about Dwight, I think he does quite admire Daryl. He wants to be like him but the circumstances with Sherry won’t allow him to be. Plus Daryl did help him when he had many reasons not to. Daryl at full strength in a 1 on 1 against Negan? Yeah I also have money on Daryl hands down.

Ana Saldana

dwight admiring daryl is an interesting theory, but i agree with you jesse, i have always interpreted dwight wearing the vest as another way to break down daryl’s psyche, like a “this is your identity, its no longer yours.” i don’t see admiration in this. frankly i don’t think dwight really thinks about daryl as a person at all, just a job he must get done for negan.

DOGFACE

Guess I'll never listen to Roy Orbinson again without this playing in my head now.

David Guerrero

Ah welcome to the bottle neck episodes era of the walking dead. I would say this is in top reasons why a lot of people stopped watching. At one point viewership competed with American football. We would have watch parties with my friends and rotate who was hosting, I can't say I did that for another show. It can be frustrating wondering what the other characters are doing but eventually it starts to pick up again later in the show.

Sussie

Yeah the numbness to it all do set in. For better or worse I guess. But I still felt it when Daryl started crying. I always do. He’s strong but you’ve seen he’s also very sensitive and you know he tries to keep it all inside so whenever he can’t I really feel it. He’s feeling so guilty over Glenn. I think Dwight do admire Daryl in a way. I think parts of him wishes he could have escaped when he had the chance and regrets not being strong enough to go through with it. But I also think he’s using his stuff as a way to torment him too cause that is his job and what he must do. Yes, he is now a slave to Negan. It is his only way to keep his wife safe.

We're on easy street 😁

Reaction Therapy

I’ll never listen to that song without severe trauma from this point forward 😳😩😢

Reaction Therapy

NEVER Brittany, he uses people and sees women as things he can own, I can’t stand him 😡

Brittany Lewandowski

I disagree, but I also have context and info on him you dont. So I cant blame you at all for feeling the way you do currently. Its vaid. Its definitely hard to navigate expressing feelings on a new character to one person when you have al the info they dont lol. I also think if he thought woman are things he can own he would specify that they HAVE to say yes . He can own me anyday though.

ALoneWolf047

I actually made the easy street song my alarm sound on my phone many years ago. I swear no other song will make you get up and reach for your phone quicker 😂

Lucas

Unc almost dropping the f bomb is top 5 moments in this series

SixPhilly Knight

Cracked me up, how he looked to see if we heard it

Daniel Burnham

It is kind of crazy that the thing that gets Daryl is them emotionally starving him, making it so he could only hear this song with no meaning, and then they introduce the photo to get this emotional breakdown. They are like starving his ears and forcing him to listen to this emotional music

Daniel Burnham

It might be crazy but I think Negan would have to kill me

Anika

You say they rape, but we haven't actually seen that. You'll learn more about him (Negan), his people, and his rules and morals. I don't want to say too much before you get to know him. But he is very much against rape. But he has some rough people in charge below him. I think some of them act the way they do because they think that's what he would want. It's interesting and a bit scary to observe.

Anika

Dwight didn't put the guy on the fence because he wants to look at him. You're giving him too much credit. Dwight was told to go get the guy back, likely alive. But Dwight killed him as a kindness, so he could bring him back and not let the guy suffer. Negan wants them on the fence to work for him in death if they won't work for him in life. Dwight wasn't happy to see the guy on the fence. But it is what it is.

Anika

I don't mind the way these episodes are. Maybe Tom may get used to them, and not mind them, because he also gets frustrated when they switch to different people and plots in the normal episodes.

WillDaBeast Grasslands

I think the context is just that you like Negan, lol. If other men you didn't like behaved as he did, dictated as he did, tortured like he did, I don't think you would find yourself being very comfortable in that regime. At least, I would hope not.

Amy J

Daryl is so stubborn, Negan clearly likes him a lot or he would definitely be dead rn 💀 (Town Called Malice is such a banger 💃 )

Brittany Lewandowski

I would still agree with what he did in the lineup regardless. I also still wouldnt think him having multiple wives is wrong either. Liking negan doesnt really matter here.

Josh Evans

Just FYI Negan is BIG on the NO RAPE rule within the savior camp… although I’m sure it still happens , they better HOPE that Negan doesn’t find out about it lol

Rosa

Yeah I agree with the difference between Rick and Negan group! Those who say they understand Negan I cannot get around it. Yes Rick killed a lot of his people, but Negan and his people were all evil people!

HENDOE 33

In real life I've lost so many people it's hard to feel my grief. That's why I love shows like these it helps me build bonds and feel something when I lose them.

Cyrill_JJK

He literally said that there are 3 options for Daryl. One is being dead, the other is wishing you were dead while working for points, and the last is to be his work horse. You legitimately think that working for points and wishing you were dead is a decent way of life? He said it himself. Good grief.

Ana Saldana

she thinks he’s charming and she likes jeffery dean morgan. that has evidently clouded her ability to think objectively about negan’s character.

Brittany Lewandowski

Ana I didnt like JDM before he was Negan so no. I am thinking objectively. You all cant think objectively because he killed Glenn. As for Cyril he 'working for paints and wihsing you were dead' was specific to Daryl. He'd have given him a really bad job. Most of the saviors are happy.

Ana Saldana

it has nothing to do with glenn brittany. i like negans character, he’s a great villain, i also don’t pretend he’s something he’s not. the saviors that are “happy” are the soldiers that benefit from a system that rewards cruelty and intimidation. their “happiness” comes at the expense of oppression, of people being terrorized and exploited for everything they have. if you choose not to be a soldier you’re kept under a system that just barely keeps you alive, negan himself says it, it’ll make you wish you were dead. he essentially gives you the option of become sadistic and tyrannize for me or be poo on the bottom of my shoe. there is absolutely nothing that indicates that that system is specific to daryl, it’s a hierarchy, not a land of freedom. now as for his “wives”. that’s abuse and coercion not a “sugar daddy” relationship. he uses his resources to pressure women into agreeing. he pressures sherrys sister tina into making the choice of “marrying him” or literally dying from lack of medication. he pressures amber into “marrying him” or allowing her sick mother to die from again lack of medication. he agrees to sherry’s proposal so she save dwight from literal death. this isn’t bright lights and stars in your eyes for these women. it’s survival for the people they love at the expense of themselves. stop being tone deaf PLEASE.

Brittany Lewandowski

Full disagree to all of that. Considering all the non soldiers looked happy and content in the sanctuary. it was 100% exclusive to Daryl (along with anyone else in cells ) The system works the same as real life, you work for 'points'(money) And you buy things with it. We have further proof they were happy their but thats spoilers so I cant say most of the relevent info.

Ana Saldana

you’re choosing to close your eyes, you’ve somehow managed to turn a textbook tyranny into the work of the messiah in your head, evidently a charming man is all it takes to get you on board lol, have a good day. this is pointless.

Brittany Lewandowski

Well 1. I loved him before jdm was even on screen so Charisma is irrelevant. 2. I liked him in the comics and he wasnt Charasmatic in there. So dont assume things you know nothing about lol. You simply assume I like the character because of JDM but I liked NEgan before jdm was even cast.

Ana Saldana

we’re on easy street 🕺 and it feels so sweet 🕺

Steffi H.

I was really looking forward to this episode and your reaction, Tom^^ And interestingly, I get the feeling that you’re going through the same emotional conflict as many others who watched this episode for the first time. You love Daryl and know he’s not really to blame for Glenn’s death, but Episode 7x1 managed to make you feel exactly that connection, and so the conflict...whether you want to or not.... Because if Daryl hadn’t… then Glenn wouldn’t … that’s right… but it could have been anyone else—it was purely arbitrary of Negan to choose Glenn… and the intention was to be able to blame Daryl for it....anyways

2026-10-18 01:00 i feel like this statement is a writers error. they’re unable to associate rape by coercion with their definition of rape. if a relationship is offered in exchange for safety/your loved one’s safety, it’s not a relationship. that fear carries over into when he or one of his men want to have sex with them. their choice isn’t much of a choice rather a decision made out of fear. writers and jdm assumed that negan being against aggressive rape is him against rape period but it contradicts a lot. thats my perception

Brat Princess

Yeah, but it took 2 weeks for that damned song to stop playing in my noggin.

Brat Princess

It’s equivalent to water torture. Sleep deprivation. Then on top of that moldy nasty food or dog food. That’s why he vomited in his cell.
