Negan said he wanted to ASK Maggie to come back with him. Dwight's wife, Sherry, OFFERED to marry Negan to spare Dwight. Negan ASKED Tina (Sherry's sister) to marry him and she told him she would think about it. So for everything that Negan is... he does NOT force women to be his wife. It is their choice. There are 'rules' when making that choice but non the less.... it is the woman's CHOICE. So don't worry that Negan might TAKE Maggie, he wouldn't do that.

Tom, when you said everything would feel different now, yeah, you’re right about that. Think back. Almost every season so far has had these smaller and bigger moments where individual characters—or even the entire group—went through major changes, and every time, the whole feeling of watching the show changed. Despair, motivation, sorrow, fear, optimism, pessimism, and then motivation again... we’ve been experiencing that the whole time. But this time it’s the most extreme, which is why it stands out so much🌻I'd like to add something: you're wrong about one thing, Tom. The reason Negan and his people are supposed to think Maggie is dead isn't because he'd make her his wife—the comment he made to Rick when he asked about Maggie was just Negan being Negan. The real reason is that Negan realized Maggie was a driving force behind the killing of his outpost, and now, as Glenn’s widow, she could be even more dangerous—which is why she’s become a target for Negan.

In the comic, Carl is 10 years old if i remember correctly. And his actions are just as impulsive

No, sorry....Sherry, Tina, and all the other women in Negan's harem—none of them chose that life voluntarily; they were forced into it, either to protect a loved one or themselves. So it wasn't exactly voluntary, was it...? But he didn't want Maggie as his wife. shes an enemy
