We are all looking for the magic bullet: the best camera and lens combination that will solve all our photographic challenges and make our photos look terrific! Although having the right equipment for the job is important, experts like Guest Artist, Alyn Wallace, will tell you that you can take amazing astro landscape images with a lot less money than the camera and lens manufactures would want you to believe!
I think this new eBook update will surprise you on the quality you can get for budgets of £500 (USD$600), £1000 (USD$1200) and £1500 (USD$1800). Alyn explains why the old Canon 6D and the old Nikon D750 are still two of the best cameras around for the astro landscape photographer.
Side Bar: Be sure to check out the link on ISO invariance. The Canon 6D is NOT ISO invariant, but the Nikon D750 is one of the best ISO invariant cameras ever made. You might also want to check out this interesting video about Why New Cameras Aren’t Improving Noise Performance. It's pretty technical but it also explains why old cameras like the Canon 6D, with it's larger pixel pitch (pixel "buckets") continue to perform quite well against to newer cameras.
