People like the person that did the video on Chris genuinely have made me give less of a shit about politics. I know this is incredibly apathetic but I just struggle so much to engage with politics when all the people that I agree with for the most part are seemingly retarded too. The political part of this episode was so cathartic and vindicating. I discovered Chris’ content during the surge of identity politics in 2016. The general polarization fascinated me, and the YouTube algorithm began to push me down the wrong path. Chris’ channel played a part in steering me off of that path, which I’m very thankful for. I lean FAR to the left, but as soon as I see someone “on my team” acting the fool, I’m just as quick to scrutinize them as I am for someone who lies on the opposite end of the spectrum. Pressure creates diamonds, self-reflection forms a stronger person, and constructive (yet harsh) criticism strengthens your arguments when trying to sway someone’s vote.
