Build an 8-bit decimal display for our 8-bit computer

In this video, we'll use an EEPROM (28C16) to create a decimal display for an 8-bit value. The display uses multiplexing to drive four digits using a single EEPROM. As a bonus it supports both unsigned and signed (twos complement) display modes.

Hi Ben , thanks for your videos , I really enjoy them, I had watched every video on your Youtube channel .I’m considering adding Chinese subtitles for your videos and writing a computer introduction book which based on your videos in Chinese,so your video can reach and help more audiences.I’m pretty sure there are lots of people in China who are interested in computers , they’re eager to know how a computer works , but they have difficulty in understanding English. As you may know , Youtube has been blocked in China mainland, the Chinese audiences who are interested in your videos can’t watch your videos easily. Maybe we can figure out a way to make your videos reach as many people as possible .And I’m not very sure writing a book based on your videos whether violates your copyright. If you’re interested in my project. Please E-mail me,my E-mail is zhangpanfeng@protonmail.com , thanks in advance.

Hi Ben! I love your videos, thanks for the effort you put on it. Could you record a video how you cut your wires so precisely?

Happy to support you as a Patreon. I finished building the 8-bit computer and actually created a diagram of all the connections that helped me keep everything straight. I added this multiplexed display to it and modified the code a little to delete the leading zeros in the display. I will try to create some videos if it and post it on You tube when I get a chance. I found your videos very helpful. Thank you.
