Ahoy Friends!  The moment has come that many of you have been waiting for....the BOATYARD CHRONICLES have arrived!  Today we present part 1 of our adventures (and misadventures) in Puerto Penasco as we prepare Delos for her first big ocean crossing since Brady and Blue took her across the Atlantic while we were in Sweden welcoming little miss Nuggs into the world.  Some highlights of this episode include the arrival of the legendary Super Ryan, drilling holes in the hull (one necessary, one not so much 😂), two obscenely large tubs of peanut butter, the classic never ending list of jobs, and a few world class Sierra cuteness moments that will have you smiling for the rest of the day.  We hope you enjoy this one!  And if boat project videos are your thing, don't worry, this is just part 1 of 4 episodes documenting our time in the boat yard, so we've still got a LOT in store for ya!

Sending lots of love from Mexico!

Not Boat Work Again!?!? LOL Can't wait to watch.

As an answer to the poll question I say D, totally the seagulls fault! 😂 And despite the labour required to maintain a boat seaworthy it is part of having a boat, and by golly it is satisfying seeing the finished result and knowing you have done it! 💪 Thank you for yet another great vlog, soooo looking forward to seeing you back out on the pacific againg, it´s been years since! 😎

Love boat work episodes!

William Domb

Wow. How out of date ARE we? Posting from last October???

Alex

I would give you free labor just to learn this stuff and hang out. 1 degree off. hahaha bummer!

Seagulls are very untrustworthy, definitely the right answer 😂 Glad you enjoyed this one, and we can't wait for the crossing too!!

Hey William, the videos tend to get a bit far behind when we're sailing and filming a lot like we did in the Sea of Cortez, but after these boat work episodes we will be pretty close back to real time :)

I know right, of course it was 16 degrees 😂 But will all be worth it when we roll up to some super sketchy anchorage entrances in French Polynesia and dodge all the bommies with our new sonar!

Mark Hubbard

Ahhh.. such a large boat! Thanks for sharing the refit activities, it's the stuff I'm in the midst of right now and it's good to know it's the same for all of us!

Marshall Schroeder

What a great episode. I didn't realize how much there was to do to keep a saltwater boat ship-shape. Thanks for this video, showing your hard work. Your videos make me feel like family.

Sean Martin

Such a great friend to have Ryan come back again. That guy truly earned his "Super" nickname!

Lisa & Claude

Awesome for Ryan to come and help out needs a Super Ryan teeshirt Love the boat work episodes but can wait to see Delos back in the water

It is great to see all that productivity. So many successful maintenance projects. Tomorrow I'm meeting my crew on our 41 ft boat in SF. I recommend an angle grinder with a wire wheel for the jobs you were using the drill for because the drill maxes out at 1500 RPMs while a battery angle grinder is 3450 RPMs and an air tool 20,000 RPMs. The higher speed is necessary for the impact of the wires against the solid surface to be really effective. Try it next time. Buy or borrow. Safety glasses a must!

Ryan steals the show again, I can't believe it's been 2 years !?!

I know right, besides being Super Ryan he's also a professional videographer and vlogger now! He really is the best :)

Patricia

The finished mount for the forward-facing sonar was SUPER satisfying to see. Something that keeps nagging at me: how is Sierra going to handle not having Grace around since Calico won't be buddy-boating with you guys across the Pacific? Of course she'll be fine, she's got a great family around her! But I'm feeling the sad. 😓

Its amazing the people that God places in our lives. Just thinking about how you all have blessed so many. It is really great to see those blessings getting reflected back to you all thought some of these amazing people like Ryan.

Talking about inspiration - these boatyard episodes do inspire me to go back to the boat yard and take care of our boat :D So thanks for the inspiration!
