Hey hey!  Hope everyone is staying warm and cozy wherever you are, sounds like its freezing all over the States and Europe πŸ₯Ά Hopefully this will warm ya up a little bit!  For those of you that have watched our older videos, this one is a little throwback to ep. 46 (just a casual 400 episodes ago πŸ˜‚ ).  Like our time in the Philipines, our stay in Tahanea stands out as a chapter of our journey where we were just so content, so in love, and totally at peace.  We really settled into the groove of simple living.  But the cyclone season was creeping its way towards us, and we finally got a good weather window to start making some miles east against the tradewinds, so we pulled the hook and set off back towards Raroia (that's where raced Colin to in previous episodes, saw the KonTiki monument, went crab hunting, swam with mantas...so yeah that made saying goodbye to Tahanea a bit easier πŸ˜‚ ) When we went back and rewatched that episode, we were so struck at how there have always been a few constants in our life (especially, each other) despite the nature of our lifestyle which is full of change and unknowns.  I think that's one of the things that has allowed us to do what we do for so long...it's exciting to live everyday not knowing what's going to happen...but certain aspects of that can be a little draining too, so having each other through all the ups and downs just takes away so many of the question marks and creates security and stability which is so important.  We hope you enjoy this episode, and we are sending you all WARM sunshine vibes and lots of hugs!

Do I have to wonder if this will be a good episode? I don't THINK so! : - )

Awesome episode, definitely paradise! This one has me missing my boat really bad! It's going to be in the teens here next week, but in a few months she'll be back in the water.

Colleen Balch

You were due a good passage after that last one! Thanks for bringing us along, 35 degrees f here in Vermont and it’s a treat to join you there!

Ashley Simms

I mean even in SoCal, we’re freezing (literal freeze warnings and frosted over windshields twice this week!). So, thank you for the warm vibes.

Jeff Mack

"Just calm down, Daddy!" That was hilarious.

today we got some spring feelings in Stockholm 😎 it's supposed to be minus 25 on Tuesday though πŸ˜‚ it's a bit strange for me to hear you talk about episodes 9 years ago because I started watching you only a month or so ago and have been watching like crazy since then. I'm on episode 273 now and my analysis is that things have calmed down a bit with all the partying in the later episodes (completely understandable considering Sierra) do you miss that time a lot when you look back? I have 4 children myself so I know there is nothing better in the world but you can still miss another part of life and dream back 😊 take care / Mattias

I binge watched all episodes last year so to me ep 46 isn’t that long ago. Funny how time works πŸ˜„ Great episode. I would love to swim in those waters! Small typo on the infographic for South Eaxsterly btw!

CATHERINE HACKETT

That was superb!! So chill and fun. Love your little bommy hunting party on the foredeck! ❀️⛡️

Dan Moss

Beautiful episode.

That's great you've only got a few months to go, hopefully these weekly adventures can tide you over until then!

Oh wow, glad you've got a little bit of sunshine before the cold hits! To answer your question...yes and no...Our party pace has definitely slowed down SOOOO much, but we still have our moments (we even bought a fog machine and little strobe lights for Delos last year πŸ˜‚ ). I think right now we have a really good balance with finding time to let our hair down a bit, but as we get older of course the hangovers get worse, the energy after this kinda stuff goes down, and it feels nice to be fresh and ready for action especially with Sierra.

Sailing SV Delos

Glad you enjoyed Catherine, we love seeing how excited Sierra gets for bommie spotting! She's so adorable every time πŸ₯°πŸ₯°πŸ₯°

Shelly Ackerman

The love is so apparent in all your vids! You guys treat each other very well, providing a great example for your daughter. It is so nice to witness. Thanks for sharing your beautiful family and the spectacular places you visit, with us!

John Kimbler

Stay calm and color Brian! :)

David Levine

Have you always had that remote control for the autopilot? I don't remember seeing it before. Pretty cool!

Sailing SV Delos

Hey David! Yeah, I got it for going down the ICW but didn't really have much use for it since then until we got into Bommie Land here :)

The episode you talk about in the beginning is the 1st sailing video we ever saw. It used to be called Real Time Stood Still or something like that. From there we went back and binged every episode. This was a good 8 years ago that we found it. Your journeys inspired us to buy a boat and sail away too. Sadly, I had a stroke and needed heart surgery so our story ends with the health crisis. We bring sailing back into our lives with your beautiful family on our big screen TV so its all good and gold. Fair winds mates!
