Hey everyone, it's Early Access Day, but before that just a quick announcement: I'm going on vacation! My first trip since 2017, I'll now have three more countries I can blather on incessantly about as I visit Northern Ireland, Scotland, and England over the next two weeks.

What does this mean to you? Ultimately, NOTHING. I MAY not be able to do a proper Early Access for next week's video (or the week after that), since I need to schedule them on YouTube, and if I schedule them, that makes them private (as opposed to my current system where I make them "unlisted", and then manually make them public every single Saturday at 10am). SO, I apologize for that in advance. BUT, videos are still coming, including bonus videos. And they're some really good ones. So, to you, it'll be like I never left.

ANYWAY, on with this weekend's video, a Musical Autopsy! You guys seemed to enjoy my last autopsy of a "rock" band, so how about we dissect Linkin Park's first year with its new lady-led lineup? Enjoy!

It's been roughly 1 year since Linkin Park reformed, replacing the deceased Chester Bennington with the somewhat controversial Emily Armstrong. In that year, they've released an album and went on tour, and Mike Shinoda feels that the reason old fans might not be giving the band a chance (resulting in one of their concerts moving to an arena with 30,000 fewer seats) is because "she's a woman!" so, is that the case, or is this new Linkin Park as good or better than the old Linkin Park? Doc Buckley's got the scalpel and is ready to find out!

Not going to Wales? Shame, shame.

Hiiii you'll be in my country (England). I'm sorry to say it's very rainy, grey, and cold this time of year, make sure you being a good warm waterproof jacket. Any idea where you'll be visiting? I hope you enjoy your trip.

I kinda dig the new music. It gives me 2000s era Scooby Doo original movie chase music vibes.

Michael Burmy

For me, I think this project would be MUCH better received if it wasn't under the Linkin Park name (LP died with Chester).

Ron

I miss Chester but this is mid, sorry

I think we might only have time for London. We're going with pretty much no schedule, going to figure it out as we go. Worked in Japan, when we didn't speak the language at all, I think it'll work well where I can slightly understand the language!

A Dose of Buckley

I don't think we'll have time. We'll see how the last half of the trip works out.

Oh, I have a feeling this is going to be a slightly controversial video.

6:23 Okay I'll tell you "Causality" doesn't make me wanna do that Buckley; it makes me wanna drive a Porsche 911 through the mall mowing down all the kiosk workers who always accost you with whatever useless crap they try to sell 😂

New singer and album are fine, would have checked them out live if ticket prices weren't so high. I guess a justification is they're #45 most listened to on Spotify, but eh didn't feel like spending hundreds for a decent seat. Have a good vacation!

It's a missed opportunity to have a scientologist lead singer and not pioneer scientology gospel music

There MUST be some sort of metal band that sings about L Ron Hubbard in a positive way, right? Never thought about it, but surely that exists. Clutch has a bunch of songs about the works of Philip K Dick, maybe they can be indoctrinated and start doing Scientology rock.

If you're going to Scotland, don't be too sure about understanding them. I love Scotland, but some of the accents don't sound like English. Have a great time! My two favorite places in Scotland are Sterling and Oban.

As to the video, Linkin Park was the background soundtrack of my escape from DA. Imo, they should have renamed the band. It worked for the Foo Fighters.

As you’ve said, musically the songs are pretty solid - I just find the lyrics all a bit cringe, and I still think they should have moved forward with a new name, even if they still played some of the classics. It just doesn’t feel like Linkin Park sans Chester, Rob and without Brad playing live.

Lizzi Huskey

I am so happy you were impressed and didn't shit on the band you see cause I worked at the Linkin Park concert at my 15000 seat arena and they played some of their new stuff! They mainly played their old stuff but I guess being a twenty year old band you tend to play the classics. Anyway thank you for validating my musical choices.

Aaron Rainer

Yes, I'm one of the ones that hate her for being in that cult, I was "raised" in it. But, I have still listened to the new music and it's not bad, it's just not what I expect from Linkin Park.

Edgar Winter made an album that was cowritten by L. Ron Hubbard called Mission Earth

Well the bonus video about the shout outs should have been shown to Sean Kingston so that was controversial to $30,000 beds lol

Juggalo_V

Yea the music does kick ass. She has a great voice. I just wished the band was named something else, otherwise I would fully support them. Still too emotional about Chester Bennington, I can see why they picked her because she delivers. Lyrics are off beat but probably because Chester was the filter. I guess we'll see in the second album.

Mizutina

I don't mind the direction they have taken, some pretty good beats and I enjoy them but I feel like they are chasing their former glory. The could have started as a new band, like they did with their side bands. Emily sometimes feels like she is trying to emulate Chester but it's not working. Chester was amazing but Linkin Park isn't what it use to be (I still kinda enjoy them 😂)

Liv Strange

Fucking hilarious, Buckley!! 🤣🤣🤣
