Hey everyone, it's Early Access Day, and as summer creeps closer to the end (I know, I'm sorry) I thought it might be fun to look back at a few weird music stories that I didn't really find time to cover earlier in the year, but are definitely stories I wanted to talk about. This video also has one of my favorite "Buckley NOOO" jokes yet, and I call out a couple YouTubers, so... that should be fun in the comments. Enjoy!

Buckley looks at three bizarre music stories from 2026 (so far): - Daydream Plus, the indie band who released an album on... the Nintendo Entertainment System? - Angine De Poitrine, the viral "microtonal math rock" band made up of two aliens (or French Canadians, same thing) whose music hospitalized 6 people? - HorseGiirL, a girl who wears an unsettlingly realistic horse mask while singing songs about... umm... loving horses too much?

I actually got to see Angine de Poitrine at a music festival recently, opening for Ella Langley of all people. Had to have been the funniest concert experience of my life, tiny pockets of folks who love ADP interspersed between swaths of people who were baffled at what the hell they were watching.

When the horse girl story popped up . I was like well atleast it aint ai. And the bar being that low is funny to me

Shaka, When the Walls Fell

I misread one of the song titles from horse girl as Farm Fellate... That's enough internet for today.

A Dose of Buckley

I don't know if it's really that far off, I guess they're not "explicit" but a song about a girl who's a horse who loves a boy (who seemingly isn't, given that he has "skin" and she has "fur") basically implies that.

A Dose of Buckley

That really has changed my opinion on a lot of weird things, yeah... "hey, this might be really odd but at least a human has put a bunch of effort into it!"

A Dose of Buckley

Yeah that does seem crazy. Bunch of "country bros" (dudes who live an hour outside of Chicago) going to watch Ella and seeing two polka dot aliens play math rock.

Ale

Buckley, why do you pretend not to know what Umamusume is

Ale

Side note, I’m actually surprised how many music clips were left in the video. It’s honestly refreshing

Ash Archer

I wonder if the Horse Girl gives Bad Head? 😉 I feel dirty for it, but I kinda agree, something about all three were pretty good. Maybe it’s just because all three were different, but more energetic than most of the Top 100. Definitely more interesting and upbeat than anything Swift has put out since 2020.

As a TISM fan, I think Angine De Poitrine might be right up my alley

A Dose of Buckley

Yeah and they didn't get claimed, no ads! That was nice of the weird indie bands. And I know it as the horse girl racing game, I do not know how to type its name if I had a gun to my head

A Dose of Buckley

Sometimes ya just need something a little different than the same dumb shit they keep trying to spoonfeed us

Fiz Gig

Well that was differently different! I do have to say re Horsegiirl... BoJack did it better.

Honk22

I like the sound of that horse girl song, just not the lyrics.

A Dose of Buckley

20-year-old me discovering Gabber and Rottertrance for the first time probably would love it.

Fiz Gig

It was really good. I got hooked immediately.

John Lumsden Jr.

Half Horse Half Man by OCT is a spiritual sequel to this horse song. Seems much funnier though.

Niki MG

That second group had sort of a Devo sound. Just a tad. It wasn't too awful.

Michał Michalski

I hate myself for laughing at such a low hanging fruit
