Hey everyone, it's Early Access Day! This will PROBABLY be my final Musical Autopsy of 2026, as I start getting ready for The Ten Worst Songs, but I think it's a pretty solid one to hold you over for the next... 8 weeks? Don't hold me to that, but this year's Worst Songs will PROBABLY be December 19th. In the meantime, enjoy!

Taylor Swift is now in her mid 30s, married, and SURELY has more to talk about than "guys are mean to me" right? Oh, she sure does, now she's singing about how "guys that were mean to me are mean to someone else!" Also, I don't think she knows what "Patient Zero" means...

At least Taylor Swift’s country stuff had *some* upbeat stuff… same as her first two pop albums… it was still shit but it was at least upbeat. The last ten years have been nothing but slow electronic music with the excitement of eating boiled chicken. Boring and bland.

As much as I dislike her on a personal level and as an artist who is an equivalent of a cardboard cutout of an unsalted cracker- the production on her vocals during the hook is very good. If I tried to layer charmonic lines on vocals like that it would be a noise, her team can make it sound somewhat pleasant. If someone likes her tone- they're in for a treat in this one so I can partially understand the appeal. The talking part is gas though.
