I like reading holiday letters from family and friends, but sometimes they can be over the top with the bragging.

Do you send holiday letters? I think it's a cool tradition to keep people up to date with your life. (But we don't do it ourselves. We are lazy.)

This year, my daughter said she wants to design a family Christmas card for us to send. We haven't done one in years, and she's really into photography, so it's a perfect project for her. Have at it, kid!

When I was a kid we would get one or two of these types of letters from people far away. Somehow they always became the butt of jokes. So we would never send one. I can see now they're how they might be kind of a valuable bit of anecdotal family history. Said the genealogist.

Yes! I hear you - we get at least one letter every year that is so obnoxiously braggy. On the flip side, one of my friends from college sends the best holiday letters. A summary of their year -- with the highs and lows -- that's always a joy to read because it's also funny.

I was always too private to send my life's highlights. I figure if anyone who is close enough to me that I want them to know what I've been doing, they probably already know or were a part of it. Then there's the also lazy thing. lol Your daughter sounds amazing! Seems like she inherited alot of her mom and dad's creativity. Sweet 😻

Exactly. I feel like people who I'm close to already know what's going on. It's about time we send a holiday card. It's been about 10 years. I'm glad my daughter is taking on this project. :)

Not a big fan of “Christmas letters”, but I do like Christmas cards. I feel like so many are not sending them anymore, but I enjoy receiving them and sending them. I’d say I’m too lazy to do the letter thing too. 😂 My cards consist of miscellaneous pics from the year printed already signed. 😉

The Christmas letters that bug me the most are the humblebrags: "Jessica got into Harvard, which was her second choice. Her top choice was Oxford, but you can't always get what you want!" Those kinds of letters make me want to hurl.

The cats I've known don't defecate in unusual places unless they're very upset or incontinent (which then makes them upset).

Just before Christmas we are off on a European tour. Christmas dinner with the royal family and then on to alpine skiing followed by a wine tour of Italy and some fun in the sun on the French Riviera …but enough about us, what about you? Had enough or do you want more “me” stuff.? PS. None of the above is remotely true🤣

Scott Metzger

I actually thought the first sentence was true, but then I read the second sentence. Haha

Gotcha! Merry Christmas to you, your family and to all. Peace be with us. We
