Here's the sketch of yesterday's comic along with the final version. For those who are new to the Patreon page and are interested in process, here's how I draw the comics:

I make a rough pencil sketch, scan it into the computer, and then color with Adobe Illustrator with a Wacom tablet. It takes anywhere from 45 minutes to 2 hours to draw a cartoon. This one took about 75 min, from sketch to final.

There's a huge storm, an atmospheric river, coming into the Bay Area. It's already starting to rain here. The worst of it is projected to hit late this afternoon. Fingers crossed it won't cause huge problems. Hang in there, fellow Bay Area residents!

I love seeing sketch-to-finished-panel work! Thanks. Take care over the next couple of days. That storm is ginormous.

Love seeing the process from start to finish. Stay dry. Crazy weather!💦

Thanks! And yeah, it's going to be big. A longtime metrologist in SF, who really knows his stuff, posted an image of the coming storm and said "This is the real deal!" Yikes.

Scott Metzger

I heard this morning that it’s expected to be similar to a category 3 hurricane 😳

Karen Jagielo

Aww, love seeing your sketches. Positive thoughts to you and your family for the storm.

Wendy S. Katz

I love the behind-the-scenes glimpses! I hope you get through the atmospheric river okay! I have a sister in Oakland and another in Martinez - I haven't talked to them yet.

Scott Metzger

Thanks! What I'm reading about the storm, what they're saying is coming later tonight, is a bit scary. So far just mild rain. Fingers crossed. I hope your sisters weather it okay. The worst of it is supposed to be on the Peninsula.

Laurie Stoker

Wait, do you still live here in the Bay Area? I know you used to live in SF. The storm wasn't as bad today here in Castro Valley as it was over the weekend, but there are more storms lined up. Stay safe!!!

Nancy DeStadio

How is your area holding up? Atmospheric river? What the holy heck? Thunder shirt needed

Scott Metzger

Things are okay here, thank God. There's been some flooding a few miles away but on streets that typically flood in mild storms. In our area so far, it hasn't bad nearly as bad as predicted
