This crash test dummies comic was a greeting card for a while. I can't remember what it said on the inside, but the card didn't last very long. It was too niche, I think.

The second image was also a card for a few years. The inside greeting was "Go crazy on your birthday." When I posted this one on social years ago, it wasn't censored (but the greeting card was). A lot of people on Facebook complained about the swearing. I understand curse words are off-putting to many, but I still like this joke.

I give that curse a pass, because the joke doesn't work without it.

It's so interesting to see the details that are added and subtracted when you turn the sketch into a finished comic.

Nancy DeStadio

Everyone is offended by everything in todays society. I say go for what’s funny to you, I’ll laugh along with the joke. Lighten up, baby!

Carillon Nicol

They both make me laugh. The bat especially

Kimberly Beckham

Oh my goodness the bat one is hilarious! Did they just not get it? Anybody who gets it would not have complained about that tiny bit of swearing and it's not even swearing you've got an asterix there. Silly people silly world

Scott Metzger

That's my rule of thumb. I'll use a curse word if the joke doesn't work without it

Sometimes some editing happens between the sketch and final version. But I'm not sure why I didn't include the seat belts

Scott Metzger

I know some people didn't know that Brian is a bat. Also some people might not know that batshit crazy expression. Also some people just cannot stand swearing at all *shrug*

Stephen Gilberg

What did they think he was, an owl? I admit that real bats have rather different faces, and some people might never expect to see a bat sitting upright, but still.

Kimberly Beckham

I wonder if bat-crap crazy is the alternative expression for mixed company? I think I use that one around children. I probably shouldn't even use that around children.

Love the crash test dummies! Lol! Takes me back to when my son was little and he had crash test dummy toys that literally shattered into pieces when slammed against the wall! He had a blast smashing them and reassembling them! 😊 and FB is just “bat sh*t crazy for censoring. It’s hilarious! And totally doesn’t work without the swear! 😜

Scott Metzger

I've never heard of crash test dummy toys. That's funny! FB was fine, they didn't censor the comic, just some people got bent out of shape about the swearing. What're you gonna do..

Karen Jagielo

Those crash test dummy cars were the most awesome toys for my son! Not the easiest on the walls….. the dummies would fly out of the cars! Lol! 😉

I'll go with the joke doesn't work without the curse. I hear versions of that a lot and not that big a deal really.

Hi Laurie! I'm going to be out of town that weekend so I won't be there. It looks cool tho. Have you been before?
