Here's tomorrow's Caturday comic. As far as I'm concerned, Spooky Season has officially begun.

I'm not big on Halloween costumes, but I usually wear one because we end up going to a party or go trick-or-treating in a nearby neighborhood that's like a huge Halloween street festival. It's quite a sight to behold.

This year I want to actually get in the Halloween spirit and buy a new costume, instead of reusing one of the many we've accumulated over the years. We have a bunch of costumes in a bin and I've worn most of them at least twice over the past several years. Last year, I put my costume on and my son said, "Where's Waldo AGAIN? Dad, this is like the third time." (It might've been the fourth.)

I saw an ad online for this Old Man Mask - looks pretty realistic, but I don't trust it. It can't be that good.

I do love Halloween for the movies, drawing Halloween comics, and the excuse to eat a bunch of candy.

Do you like Halloween? Are you planning to dress up? Or do you just want to fast forward Thanksgiving?

No dressing up for me not like I used to. I do still enjoy the carving of the pumpkins and creating jack-o'-lanterns.

The last time I dressed up for Halloween I think I was 7. Australia doesn't really do Halloween. 🤷‍♀️ Or Thanksgiving.

Scott Metzger

That's interesting, I didn't know Halloween isn't really a thing in Australia. I had to Google it just now and it said only 25% of Aussies said they planned to celebrate it this year.

It's becoming a bigger thing in recent times, but I find things like trick or treat is typically only for the younger kids, and generally will occur within a certain area (i.e. limited to just a neighbourhood where it's been pre-arranged but there's no obligation or expectation that houses will participate).

Scott Metzger

Interesting. I don't know why I always assumed Halloween is about as popular in Australia as it is in the US.

Read the current National Geographic (I get the online version) if you want to know about Halloween in Ireland back in the day. Hair standing on end!!!

In our house, October 1st is the first day of Halloween! 😎😁🎃😈😸

Well, you can’t leave everything to the Great Pumpkin! ☠️🎃👻😁

I’ll jump on board with “spooky season” - as opposed to Christmas as apparently, Home Depot has started according to my husband.. 🙄 Never have been a fan of costumes, but since I work in kindergarten, I’ve had to get over it… I play along….reluctantly. 😜

Scott Metzger

😂 That’s exactly how my wife feels about costumes. She only wears them because she has to for school

I stopped dressing up after I accidentally scared a toddler. I do like the candy and the general atmosphere. In the past, I've spent the month watching Halloweeny movies, but now that Netflix has stopped delivering DVDs, I may have difficulty finding enough. I will draw for Inktober for the second time.

Scott Metzger

That’s cool you participate in Inktober. I love seeing what my artist friends draw but never do it it myself. For me it’s Spectatober
