Lucy has Jordan and Auggy who want and are glad to be there for her, but in her mind she doesn't want to "bother" them..so she gravitas back to an old and toxic way. 😩

This really doesn't feel like Mike setting a boundary, especially with how he was finding solace with everyone seeming happy without him. I'm not saying that Mike SHOULDN'T draw any boundaries, but I feel like this right here is another red flag towards his self-worth.

Mike could take this as her telling him to leave even a space he was alone at, which I don't think it was her intention, but I can see how it could be seen as that.

Mike’s expression in the third-to-last panel is devastating. I just can’t accept the idea that he never cared about Lucy; that’s the look of someone who, despite everything, still wants to reach out and help her. It’s probably for the best that he doesn’t at this moment because neither of them are in the right place emotionally but there’s LOVE there, man! Platonic or otherwise

I doubt it's gonna end here Lucy isn't one to quit so easily. Despite Mike's words Lucy is definitely gonna chase after him, but Mike can stand let alone run. One way or another this conversation is either gonna begin now on the track or in the hospital.

well he didn't set the boundary. but he sure can enforce it. Lucy can't guarantee that she won't hurt him or get anyone else to do so on her behalf, so while this is a problem for so many other reasons, it's not one that gets solved by letting her get close

I think deep down they do both need eachother in some way. platonic or not they do care about eachother. The problem is neither of them know how to be together healthy. Alongside Mike total loss of the self worth and serlf hatred. Lucy's put herself into a bad situation as well. She allowed her support person to go live on his own. Cause he does need to get his own life. But has left her stuck with people she doesn't particularly trust and believes their attempts at being kind and friendly are not genuine. But as far as I can tell, that's a her problem, not them., due to her dreams. I see many people say their reltionship was toxic, thus they shouldn't be friends. But I think it's due to a lack of communication. I remember whenever Mike actually tried to talk about real stuff with Lucy she'd usually shut him down in some way. Calling him dumb for bringing it up, hitting him or distracting him cause she was afraid of having a real conversation that might change their dynamic. And Mike had to constantly worry about Lucy's mental well being cause if he wanted to hang with other friends he always had consider how she felt. It made life stressful for him and her. But they've both grown, seen just how that tore them apart. Maybe that's what they needed to see how things went wrong..... I mean it got really wrong. Lucy leapt off a building and Mike is now a total loner filled with self hatred. Lucy never seemed to show any sign that she was uncomfortable with seeing Mike running with the others, Augustus just assumed. And when it was all revealed Lucy more so went with it largely cause Mike was being an asshole when it was all revealed and I suspect she wanted a bit of a revenge not realizing how badly it'd hurt him. Now they are both stuck in a situation that's only hurting them.
