Hello, friends!

Honestly, I didn't expect so few people to vote for a male character in the last poll. While I understand that you're here primarily for the Bright Past, where the main character is a woman, still... Now I'm having doubts about whether it's worth wasting time on the male antagonist option. Let me know in the comments what you think.

As for development, I consider the past week to be fruitful. Esterium is an ambitious project where I plan to implement something I've never done before. And I like how it's turning out so far. Firstly, the game's appearance has been transformed, but that's not the most important thing.

I'm continuing to develop the combat system. In particular, I've added a status system. Now certain attacks can inflict bleeding, causing you to lose health every turn. You can also now use potions during combat. This costs one action point.

I'm also working on making the combat log more informative.

Hover tooltips have been added that appear when you hover over important words.

Two new weapons. One can be crafted, and the other can be looted from NPCs in Battle. Related to this, there's a new crafting item: leather strips.

Equipment slots has been slightly reworked. There will no longer be a separate slot for gloves and a cloak, but there are two slots for rings.

A new location with a naked statue has also appeared.

As for the story, you can now talk to the Nest leader and get useful information from him. I'm also adding additional lines for different origins. I want the game to be a true role-playing experience.

Yes, right now it's not quite a game, more of a prototype, and there's still a lot of work to be done. But I think I'll have something to show you this month.

Thank you for staying with me.

Not that I want to crap on the 18 people who want a male mc, it does seem like a lot of extra work to have all three body types. But as someone who only plays female mcs, preferably on a lesbian only path, I know what it’s like to see an option get pulled because it’s not the popular one and it sucks. So basically I’m no help. Only you know how much extra work it will be for development.

My feeling generally echoes that of Whofellnow. I want add that there are a myriad of games and stories that follow a male protagonist but far fewer that follow a female. As such I am far more interested to see how this story pans out from a relatively uncommonly chosen narrative.

I prefer female characters, as I do it can also be seen from my avatar, my PC will definitely be a woman, but a bit of variety in the world is good, otherwise it gets boring, as written it also depends on the time of creation but male enemies would be useful 😁

for the rest, I like the progress, excellent 👍

I'm with Kazuma, there are a lot of sci-fantasy games with a male MC, very few with a female. I'm not so interested about this new game to be honest, I'd like to have more to play on Bright Past, but if you can use the same magic as you did with Alex story, I'm in!

DemnorTheSwede

I do not mind the male MC, infact most games I play have a male MC. I just didn't like the UI and the clicking and the grind. But then I am not a fan of sandbox typ games. In Bright Past's case it was saved by great graphics and a good story.

I´m with most of the other players, if i can play a female character, i will never play a male

Frank Baum

I will only play the female character. And I will follow the lesbian path. That is me. Obviously, I would appreciate it if you would focus on female only. Then your creativity would go towards content that I appreciate. I think that the audience that likes to play as a male MC and that likes to play as a female MC will be quite seperate. So, you do have to chose which audience you want to provide the content for and for whome the entire story / open world should add up. If you allow for the choice male / female MC then you may miss the focus of at least one of not both parts of your audience.

honestly you have a great game with a woman but i think you would do fine as a male lead doesnt matter to me

TPB

There are few games with females MC so I think it provides a good niche.
