Hot Off the Griddle: Summary of Upcoming Changes (Patreon)

Greetings Junkions,

As you may have heard, last weekend we made several announcements regarding some BIG changes to the JFC universe. Really exciting stuff happening, y'all! In an effort to keep everyone in the loop, I have compiled this summary for anyone who hasn't been super online the last few days.

ANNOUNCEMENT #1: We finally FINALLY have a website!!

With the help of the amazing Mr. Kevin Dooley, Junkfood Cinema DOT COOOOOOOM is finally a reality! Yeah, we thought we'd try out this whole internet fad. You can listen to episodes directly on the site, shop for merch, see what I'm watching on Letterboxd, and find info on our upcoming live events. I'm beyond thrilled!

ANNOUNCEMENT #2: We are launching a second weekly show!!!

That's right, you now get double the pleasure, double the fun, and double the Junkfood on your main feed as we launch...The Double Stuff!

This weekly show will feature myself and the great Scott Weinberg of the podcast Overhated and former co-host of 80s All Over. I've known Scott for years and we have a lot of fun gabbing flicks with each other, as I'm sure you know from his guest appearances on JFC.

The great news here for Patrons is that not only will these episodes occasionally be Patron exclusives, but even when they are not, you'll still only be charged for 4 episodes per month even though we will now have 8 total! In other words, the presence of this second weekly show does NOT change our billing at all. You are literally getting two for the price of one!

We've already recorded the first month's worth and I do believe you will enjoy listening as much as we had a blast recording.

ANNOUNCEMENT #3: The Lts of Megaforce tier is reopening tomorrow!!!

That's right! It's once again time for those brave recruits to join Megaforce! If you're new to the show, this is a floating $25/episode tier wherein Patrons who subscribe for one full month (that's 4 episodes, total of $100) get to request a movie that we will cover on one of our two main feed shows. The window opens tomorrow at 9am CST with 25 slots. If we manage to book all those slots, I will open 5 more in the subsequent weeks! More details will be posted with the launch tomorrow.

ANNOUNCEMENT #4: Meet the Commentary Cold Cut Crew!!!

In an effort to ensure that you, our wonderful Patrons, receive your exclusive commentaries more consistently, we have put together a fantastic rotating crew of co-hosts to dissect movies in real time along with Brian. We have dubbed this troupe The Cold Cut Crew.

We've got Mr. Weinberg here too, along with Blake Salisbury, Greg MacLennan from Electric Owl Creative and former programmer at The Alamo Drafthouse, and Josh Griffey from The Film Alchemist podcast.

These renegades, along with the occasional one-off guests, will ensure that our $1/episode Patrons receive their monthly commentary, and that our $5/episode level and above Patrons receive both of their monthly commentaries.

ANNOUNCEMENT #5: Get ready for Junk Mail!!

I wanted to find a way to especially thank the members of our $10/episode tier because, barring the annual opening of the Lts of Megforce tier, they are our most generous supporters. Therefore, for this group of stellar folks, we are introducing a new reward called Junk Mail.

Once per month, I will randomly select one Patron from this tier (with a U.S. address) and send them something from my phenomenal personal geek horde. Over the years, I have amassed a dizzying collection of action figures, posters, Funkos, trading cards, you name it. Someone will win a coveted item from that collection and receive along with it a letter from me detailing its significance
