The grand finale of our animation miniseries is also a massive cinematic redemption for Brian.

Listen to, but try not to get too absorbed by, Akira!

A good friend of mine introduced me to this some years ago (he kind of forced me to watch it lol) and I thought it was bizarre although interesting, with some great action sequences, but may need to rewatch it sometime to see if I get more out of it. Anyways sad to hear that this is the end of your animated films series but hoping you guys will do another one in the future, and would love to hear you do a Don Bluth month as well, as Secret Of NIMH is one of my all time favorites. 🙂

Ninja Scroll on the next anime series?

I was thinking it would be cool if Cargill came up with a month of anime films that he thinks Brian would be into that they could talk about. Also wondering if Brian likes Studio Ghibli, especially since he has kids. I mean even people who don't really like anime love Ghibli as they're like the Disney of Japan lol. Could see Brian digging Nausicaa with it being post apoc and all 🙂

Some suggestions I think Brian might appreciate: Nausicaa Of The Valley Of The Wind, Princess Mononoke (which Cargill mentioned), Porco Rosso (probably the funniest of the Studio Ghibli movies imo, with Michael Keaton voicing Porco in the dub), Ghost In The Shell (another classic that does qualify as true cyberpunk and was a big inspiration on The Matrix), Perfect Blue (a dark psychological thriller), Tokyo Godfathers (a great Christmas film by same director as Perfect Blue). Those are a few anyway that I think might be up Brian's alley. If you're reading this Brian I get you not being into anime, I don't watch a ton myself, but sure there's stuff in the genre that you would dig, just gotta look for it. 🙂
