Are the Brackens among Roose Boltons forces in the Crownlands? Boltons, Frey’s and Mootons would only count for half or a third of the army (depending on if Roose’s remaining two thousand is counted among the 10'000 or is added to it), Ryswell’s and Dustin are good to add their, they are similar to Bolton in their lack of loyalty

By my own math, Robb should have 33'200 or more (15'500 Northmen, the Riverlands gathered 11'000 in canon with half a kingdom that was on fire and repeatedly bloodied, that’s counting Mallister men but not Frey’s (here they have two thousand left) or I’m assuming the extra four thousand survivors Jason Mallister gather’s here, add Mootons 700, meaning they have 17'700), assuming Glover went home with a thousand men and Roose only has a total of ten thousand that leaves two thousand to defend Harrenhall and watch the prisoners, so I’d imagine Robb has a fair bit more that simply isn’t directly present at Harrenhall.

It’s nice to get a look at the happenings of the North with Robb winning insane legendary victory’s.

Robb giving Theon his props is nice, hope you do something more interesting with Theon than taking his head.

The politics between the many Lord’s Robb command’s is pretty amazing.

Seems Robb is afraid he’ll get a Joffrey Dogget situation, cutting his supply lines and raiding his camp and so on, causing problems he’d rather not have.

Since Robb doesn’t want to waste time taking the Banefort, he also likely hasn’t taken Estren or Broom, who are even more isolated in the Hills of the northern Westerlands, Robb has Addam Marband, Lord Swyft, and a bunch of Crakhall’s, but I don’t know if he has any Serrets or Lyddens, no mention of the Crag, Robb should be incredibly wary of them and the Spicers given his fall in Canon, but without Tywin they could be used like Bolton or more like Frey and Mooton.

Seems like this fic is setting up Renly to get done incredibly dirty lol.

I honestly think just like in the book renly will be killed by the shadow and the reach will try and reach out to both the Lannisters and Robb stark. They like to play both sides. Also maybe Robb will have Theon go through the sewers to take casterly rock.

I think this story is setting Renly up to get done even dirtier then that, I think Balon will attack the Reach and Stannis has already taken Storm’s End and likely more of the Stormlands soon, I don’t think Renly will get off that easily here.

Robb is about to take Lannisport, I wonder if he’ll find any secret tunnels leading from a Brothel to Tywins solar or other private chamber in the Rock, like the one in Kingslanding from the Tower of the Hand.

Greetings, I wanted to share my thoughts with the author about Chapter 41. I think Robb is letting the Lannisters get off far too easily after everything they have done. I found it frustrating and a little upsetting that he would do this, especially considering that he knows what happened in book canon.

I think he could have at least told Genna something along the lines of, “House Lannister can no longer remain a Lord Paramount,” or “You will announce Cersei and Jaime’s incestuous relationship in the streets of Lannisport.”

By the way, Robb doesn’t seem to have any intention of holding the Westerlands. Leaving the region without proper leadership, or even worse, leaving it under Lannister rule, could have a very negative impact on the future of the Kingdom of the North. After all, they will need to protect the Riverlands in the coming years.

In my opinion, Robb should annex the Westerlands into his realm and appoint a Westerlands house, such as House Farman, as the new Lord Paramount of the West.

Robb’s definitely being unreasonably merciful here, though I can kinda understand why.

    • the Westerlands is a spent force, they have no men left to fight, no grand gold host to terrorize the Riverlands any longer.

    • House Lannister is broken and defeated, he has no intentions of giving Kevan back to rebuild and manage House Lannister, and in all likelihood they’ll be dealing with a lot of problems going forward, not like Cersei is gonna suddenly grow a brain.

    • I think we’re gonna get a Bolton and Frey situation for the Lannisters for the Spicer’s, Baneforts and Farman’s, possibly Lymond Vikarys claiming Castamere from the crippled House Lannister, without Tywin and as insanely weak as the Lannisters are now, the Westerlands is in a horrible position.

    • he’s annexed the Golden Tooth, this gives him a tighter, more easily defended border to the South than annexing the Westerlands would.

I thought about, and there will be other ways Robb will keep the Lannisters in check, but all that you mention would be pushing too far. There is no way for Robb to enforce another house’s rule over Westerlands. And if Robb pushed it too far there might be retaliation from others. There must be a balace that benefits Robb the most. And that is where was left after thinking about it.

In my opinion, the logic here is very simple. If Robb intends to invade the Westerlands, he cannot allow the Lannisters to remain Lords Paramount. If he has no such intention, he cannot allow the Lannisters to remain his neighbors. In your own comment, you said that such an action would go too far. We are talking about a family that has already committed numerous atrocities, including incest, and murdered Robb’s father. What more do they have to do to lose their position as Lords Paramount? What Robb is essentially doing is giving them a slap on the wrist and warning them not to do it again. The Westerlands will return to their former state within 10–15 years at most.

Problem with getting rid of the Lannisters from power from the Westerlands is they still control Casterly Rock. There is just no way Robb is getting Casterly Rock. So Robb is using other ways to hurt the Lannisters that benefits him, hurts them for a long time and stuff Robb can actually enforce. Then there is the Lannisters in the Westerlands didn’t actually do incest and killed his dad. That was the Lannisters that are in Kingslanding. Now those are people he can actually destroy because Kingslanding is easier to take.

Casterly Rock can be conquered. All Robb has to do is lay siege to the castle until those inside starve to death. They may be sitting on a mountain of gold, but they can’t eat gold.

Yes but it may take years before the food runs out, while Robb has to deal with Kings Landing, Tyrells, Stannis, Greyjoys, Wildlings, Aegon, Daenerys, and White walkers.

Since the area around Casterly Rock is quite mountainous, the entry and exit routes are limited, and it has no coastline. This means the castle does not require a powerful army and fleet to blockade it, unlike Storm’s End. It can be besieged with a relatively small force, and supplies can be prevented from entering.

Additionally, there is a secret entrance through the sewers, which is mentioned in both the books and the show. If Robb remembers it, he can use this method.

He doesn’t need to, or care to for that matter, don’t forget that Robb still has Ironborn, Renly and Stannis, alongside the Vale, Freefolk and so on to deal with outside of the Lannisters.

And the Westerlands doesn’t have anyone left to really lead them, Genna will have to deal with general prejudice of being a woman ruler, and House Lannister is definitely not going to be anywhere near as powerful or respected for quite some time, annexing the Golden Tooth is a strong blow to their power and ability to wage war against Robb’s Kingdom.

The Westerlands also have more than a little potential for civil war and infighting, and once Robb is gone, the Reach or somebody else will more than likely waltz on in, five years is no small time, 10-15 even more so.

Seems Lord Vance didn’t actually see the Tyrell Host, instead just getting rumor and second hand Word, else he’d likely know that the Tyrell Host is closer to sixty or seventy thousand, depending on if Mace joined it, unless the extra time they wasted means they really do have a hundred thousand men this time around.
