*Bruce Buffer Voice*: IIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIITS TIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIME!

Dashi

why was maple so set on jon being immortal when they literally said IN THE EPISODE he wasn't :')

Pabb

Yeah we have Berric as an example of a guy who was ressurected 6 times each time he died for real. I guess just a bit of a lore brain fart.

That whole battle sequence was absolutely beautiful, such gorgeous cinematography. That shot of Jon standing with his sword as the cavalry comes riding down on him, the insane tracking shot where Jon is in the middle of the battle and fighting enemies left and right, just the pure chaos they were able to capture in that moment, and then the shot of him emerging from the mass of bodies, just gorgeous shot after gorgeous shot. And then obviously, the Bolton banners falling and the Stark banners replacing them, yes, chef's kiss. Especially for how understated and quiet of a moment it was, made it seem more dignified somehow, a good contrast to the Boltons. Emmy for the director Miguel Sapochnik and all the technical Emmys well deserved. So now for my criticisms xD Kind of joking but no, I mean, I do think the earlier seasons of GoT worked fine without the big battles. That was mostly due to budgest constraints but I think in some ways it worked in their favor because it forced the writing to be kind of smaller and more character driven. But of course a great battle scene like this like once a season is great and doesn't need to take anything away from the writing. I do think the successes of Hardhome and Battle of the Bastards ultimately taught the writers the wrong lessons, thinking they needed to focus more on great battle scenes than on consistent character writing but still, nothing really to complain about its place here. One final point of contention, I think critics of the show and its various character arcs focus a bit too much on this last scene with Sansa. Yes, it's clear that D&D are incapable of writing a strong female character as anything other than a feelingless, ladyboss badass bitch, and it's tragic that that is where they went with Sansa in particular, but come on, who couldn't enjoy that last scene ^^' The Meereen stuff was kind of forgettable to be honest. I did actually forget that that was in this episode too until I saw it just now xD I'm kind of tired at this point of Dinklage's whole sitcom routine and Dany's repetitive badass pronouncements, I think her character stopped evolving after like season 3. And the fact that none of her enemies have an answer to her dragons does get a bit stale. But yeah, they moved the plot forward and about time too.

I love cane corso’s but their psi is stronger then a lions and they were the dogs that actually ate people back in the day😂beautiful animals but scary forsure

Eric Wallace

Maple, the episode explicitly told you he wasn't immortal

FW27

In seasons 4-5-6, they put Jon Snow at the center of some cool ass battle episodes. The political aspects will always be the driving force of the series, but I love me some good ol’ fashioned medieval carnage.

Kevin Landon

KANE KORSO! lmao, when that happened, somewhere, a Kane Korso got the zoomies

Vasili Brasinikas

Shortly before his demise, Melisandre told Stannis that she saw in the flames the Bolton banners falling from Winterfell. When it finally happens in this episode, we immediately cut to her smiling. The visions were correct; her timing was just off.

Athasin

Battle of the Bast*rds, let's go!

Joe Blankenship

Yeah, she got way too caught up in trying to make things happen, instead of letting things happen. There was absolutely no reason to burn that innocent girl. Ugh. If I were Davos, I don't know if she would've been alive to get to Winterfell.

Athasin

Shows how far Sansa has come since the Battle at Blackwater Bay. She finally understands why Cersei just drank all night yet she stayed sober for this.

Centarius

The amount of times these two say the same thing at the same time is so funny. You guys are like twins.

Ludus Aurea

I've seen this like 6 or 7 times but actually sitting and paying attention again made me cry lol. That's how good the last 20 minutes of the episode are. The one take of Jon near the beginning of the battle and the scene of him drawing his sword as they're charging at him are two of the most incredible pieces of cinematography in his series. In addition to that tracking shot during Season 4 "The Watchers on the Wall" which was directed by Neil Marshall. Miguel Sapochnik directed this one and Hardhome and at least one upcoming episode no spoilers.

OldManGrim

When this originally aired, my friends and I were screaming at the tv, "SERPENTINE, RICKON!!!! SERPENTINE!!!!" xD Yeah and welcome to Westeros Fast Travel, lol. Time jumps are not going to be explained! Pour one out for Wun-Wun, the Last of the Mohic-wait Giants

21:40 This Sansa girl is ANNOYING!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Aj

See, I don't think it was even filmed well. I found it incredibly messy and chaotic, and not in a good way. I prefer how every prior battle in the series was shot. Battle at the Wall is better, Blackwater is better, even Hardhome's 20 minutes are better.

Aj

Sorry to say it, but this is officially the most overrated episode of TV ever made. It was so dumb. I can't even get on board with the cinematography.

Ljh

You sound miserable to be around..

Aj

I'm a ray of sunshine. This episode still sucks, though.

TimTakDoh

Imagine obsessively hate watching and paying to do so. Some people are truly miserable

Aj

Imagine crying over someone not liking your beloved show. Some people are, indeed.

PopeScooby

Sounds like someone has seen the Danger Committee.
