Better Call Saul 6x8 | Watch Along

In another life Lalo would be in the George foreman kitchen equipment business and Gus would create a billion dollar chicken restaurant to rival the likes of Raisin Canes and KFC

Tim Martin

Lalo dying with a smile on his face…it had to be that way. So perfect.👌 And it’s a stretch, but what about the famous fly in the lab? Nah 😂

Shout out to Tony Dalton for giving us one of the best villains in the whole BB/BCS universe despite only being in the show for only a season and a half. And how about Howard and Nacho’s journey in this show? Heartbreaking.

Chris Thompson

I know I’m going to be in the minority here, but Lalo’s farewell seemed like such a goofy, lacklustre cop-out. The old Western stand-off nonsense 😒 Gus’s plan though was pretty smart, if a tad contrived, and a little silly with him not loading the gun fully. What - he had a couple bullets in his pocket on the day he planted it down there and thought “naw, I can’t be bothered going aaaall the way back upstairs again to get more to make sure I don’t die in what’s bound to be really effing precarious situation. Nah, one’s enough - they don’t call me Deadshot Daddy Gus por nada!!” As cool a villain as Lalo was I was more than happy that they took him out with half the season left as neither he, Nacho nor Howard were what the show was really about. They were all (important) distractions that really took the focus away from the eponymous man himself for far too long and I was just thankful watching it first time round that there were still a good handful of hours left to devote to Saul “Jimmy” Goodman.

One interesting thing about Saul's house is I'm about 90% sure it's the same house he and Kim visited for the open house and the woman in his bed looked a lot like Kim to me.

Also on the subject of "cursed" the actor that plays Howard was actually in a movie called "The Last Exorcism" that was actually pretty good (ending is crazy).

Back before dissolving bodies in hydrofluoric acid became all the rage.

Lalo's ego got the best of him. As soon as he found the lab, he should've put one in Gus' head. El fin para el hombre pollo.

Joshua Luzania

I'm pretty sure Gus's revolver had 5 shots and he fired all of them.

I feel like Lalo shows signs of Dyslexia, i.e. someone who thinks in pictures not words. Picture thinking is a lot faster then verbal thought, to the point that its almost subliminal. His "Hands on" approach to problems and how he improvises his way through challenges is typical of someone who thinks this way, which would make him the perfect foil for Gus who has to plan 10 steps ahead for everything, and its difficult for someone like that to keep up with someone like Lalo. You can see it in the way Gus lost his calm for just a moment when the lights went out this episode.

If it helps at all, right after this episode aired Patrick Fabian tweeted a selfie of himself and Tony Dalton on vacation in the mountains with the caption, "Together Forever." https://www.instagram.com/jimmysaulgoodmanmcgill/p/CgCfS8vv5A5/?hl=en As far as the lab goes, we know the future so we know it is a place of bad juju. The beach scene, if i recall correctly, was shot at Leo Carillo State Beach in Malibu CA. It was the last scene shot for the series after the last episode had wrapped. It was also the only scene in all of BCS and Breaking Bad to be shot outside the state of New Mexico.
