Game of Thrones 7x7 | Watch Along

Maple thirsting for the Night King is not the twist I expected in this reaction series.

Oscar H

I've wanted to chime in on the Arya/Sansa thing this season since they noticed it. Us fans watching it were just as perplexed by the "plot twist" the writers had with their storyline. It was a good plan but if the audience knew about it or saw Bran laying it all out to them it would make more sense. There were (probably still are) vehement Sansa haters and everything this season up until this episode was giving them every reason to hate her even more because of poor writing. what a shame

Oscar H

another commentor touched on this in s5's gRAPE scene and I will just reiterate that the writers really did Sansa's character dirty once they had no more material to go off. Completely insane to see complex characters with so much depth be reduced to nothing but sci-fi tropes and writing

cereal

Shame they never made another season after this

sablo

Hear her out

Athasin

I love how all of the teleporting has them confused about where they are. Classic season 7 feeling.

Athasin

No Tyrion definitely is responsible for Mycella's death. He gave her to their enemies when he was Hand of the King. If he hadn't she wouldn't have been in Dorne when Oberion's mistress wanted to kill Lannisters. She wouldn't have been poisoned. She might still be alive. Tommin's death was ALL Cersei's fault though.

Athasin

Ah yes... Theon proving once again that his super power is how well he can take a beating and still survive.

Pyt

Tormund on the wall "Long way down, I dont think I could ever get used to it." Tormund in like season 3 "Yea lets just scale this bitch"

Pyt

Or get this, if Cercei doesn't wrongly blame Tyrion for the death of Joffery, Mycella might still be alive. If Tyrion isn't put on trial, isn't demonized and humiliated by his father and sister, he doesn't ask for a trial by combat, Oberyn doesn't offer to fight The Mountain, doesn't get overconfident, doesn't get his skull crushed and doesn't lead to Ellaria being vengeful. I don't get how you got Dorne being the "enemy" when Mycalla was sent there. Tyrion sent her there so she wouldn't be at Kings Landing when Stannis and his army sieged King's Landing, this is well before Oberyn's death.

OldManGrim

Grey Worm took Casterly Rock; Bronn and Jaime took Highgarden. Grey Worm left Casterly Rock to join the dothraki who had already won the battle against jaime and bronn (where they almost died)

Joe Blankenship

Yes, Maple needs to write Night King erotic fan-fiction. "He looked at me with his eyes"

OldManGrim

no way, if Cersei doesn't lose her shit and blame Tyrion for Joffery's death, there never would have been a trial by combat; and if that doesn't happen, then there is no poisoning of Myrcella. Cersei's anger destroyed her entire family line; she is solely to blame for Joffery, Tommen, Myrcella...all of her children are dead because of her actions.

Honestly, I thought we'd only get this episode this week, and I wouldn't be upset if the next season was one episode a week, given how long they are. But here we go! I know you have a lot of other shows on your docket, and maybe you'd like a break from this series, but if you go into House Of The Dragon following this, it would probably be easier to keep in mind certain details. But if you don't, damn, you give so much content that I'm glad to watch so much other stuff. Shit, I'm gonna rewatch "Adolesence" again. So good.

Athasin

"Or get this, if Cercei doesn't wrongly blame Tyrion for the death of Joffery, Mycella might still be alive. " If Tyrion hadn't sent Mycella to Dorne but Cersei still blamed him for Joffery's death, Mycella would not have died how she did. Because Tyrion's decision to send her to enemies was the CATALYST for death, not Cersei's. HE is responsible for demise.

Athasin

"no way, if Cersei doesn't lose her shit and blame Tyrion for Joffery's death," If Tyrion hadn't sent her to Dorne but Cersei still lost her shit and blamed Tyrion for Joffrey's death, Mycella would not have been killed on a boat sailing from Dorne. Ergo Cersei losing her shit isn't why Mycella died. Tyrion sending her to Dorne was. Tyrion sending her to enemies in Dorne was the catalyst. Her death is on him.

And from their own perspective they're just two unknown people with influence (who are hot btw have you seen Kit Harrington)

Pabb

I know Sansa/Arya/Littlefinger is not the best writing this show has ever seen but I kinda find it as a weaker story variable of Mr.Robot and girls hated that kind of the story. The story that tricks you until the very end. (still not done quite well with Winterfell sub plot but yeah)

Chief Doodle

Jon Snow was double cheeked up on a Thursday afternoon for Diegesis

TeddyKGB

Do you 2 go back and re-watch the episodes to see what you've missed because of all of your incessant yammering? I swear you two never stop talking. I'm done.

Christophe

I can kind of see what you mean with that comparison to Mr. Robot but the issues I had with those two stories were kind of opposite for me; Mr. Robot had too much foreshadowing, so much foreshadowing that it kind of felt off that the show kept acting like we shouldn't see the twist coming. While the Littlefinger arc here had not enough foreshadowing, we had no indication whatsoever that Sansa and Arya were colluding; you could suspect it of course, as a lot of us did because it would make more sense that way. But we didn't see it ever, and we even saw weird red herrings to the contrary where Sansa and Arya are obviously antagonistic to each other when Littlefinger wasn't even around. We should have at least gotten hints of their collusion.

Christophe

I get that that the Sansa/Arya moment is pretty satisfying but pour one out for Littlefinger, one of GRRM's finest creations, one of the most intelligent, most scheming characters who possibly has the single biggest impact on the whole plot of like the first 6 seasons of anyone—going out in a literal whimper, like a fart in the wind, because it didn't even cross his mind that the Stark sisters and their databank brother could possibly be information sharing. So disappointing.

Christophe

Yeah they really need to get over that particular hang-up if they're gonna watch HotD because otherwise the commentary is going to be very repetitive ^^'

Pyt

lol you are so cute.

Pyt

Can you point to anywhere in the show where Dorne is enemies of the Iron Thrown in season 2?

Eamon

i dont get why you guys are fixated on incest, in a world of murder and slavery lol. Also you were less offended by all the rapes.

Eamon

and they werent nearly as offended by all the rape and murder. Start with that first.

Peaslepuff

Lowkey find it wild that you would jump to the conclusion that Maple doesn't find rape gross or disturbing...

Peaslepuff

Good! Nobody wants you here

Peaslepuff

Watching you react to the Rhaegar/Lyanna romance reveal was so SATISFYING

Eamon

highkey find it wild that you would jump to the conclusion that im saying she doesnt find rape gross or disturbing... try reading again, then maybe a 3rd time.

Jonathan Blaze

The Mockingbird was killed by a pack of wolves.

Alfonso Huerta

It’s all because of Cersei. She killed Robert which led to Joffrey being king and all of the terrible choices he did that made Tyrion send Marcella to Dorne. Also, she raised Joffrey to be a monster which led to his own death and Cersei blaming Tyrion. All Cersei’s fault.

Rachel Lynn

I usually watch your edited videos (in part because the violence in the show can be too much for me and you guys censor it for me) but the full watch-through is a lot of fun too. I didn’t mind season 7 that much, if anything I kind of appreciated that people were getting to locations faster and the pace was quicker, but I did really dislike the manufactured conflict between Sansa and Arya. Season 8 was just pathetic though.
