The moment you start thinking about how things could've been better is the moment you truly realize how downhill the writing has gone.

ZitherManifesto

Mormont's blade wasn't on fire because it's Valyrian. But yeah, this last season is rough.

FW27

Jon Snow’s speech was great and then the rest of the episode kinda happened.

Patrick

It's a shame the dips in quality are so jarring in this season 'cos the previous two episodes are great.

Oscar H

I hope they watch the behind the episode for this particular episode at some point. Knowing how much this season ruined everything this episode's behind the ep is one of the more iconic ones in the fandom

Vasili Brasinikas

I completely get why they stopped watching them to begin with, but everyone needs to hear "Dany kind of forgot about the Iron Fleet" at least once haha

Oscar H

precisely my point! lmao and at this point they're already pissed, they might as well just watch it to see what they fed us viewers

Eric

What pisses me off most about this season is Jon doesn't even say goodbye to Ghost... Like, wtf?

PlasteredPear

Euron got back to Kingslanding quick because Dragonstone is at the mouth of Blackwater bay.

HonkyPete

We are (rightfully) hitting Breaking Bad levels of anger now, I'm getting nostalgic

Ryley

The Japanese would have won WWII if their naval anti-aircraft guns were as good as the Iron Fleet's.

Pyt

Arianna channeling how everyone felt in 2019 watching this show.

Kevin Landon

lmao, at this point im leaning towards them having an incest fetish, they like cant let it go, its like they are overexaggerating how digusted they are by it to hide their true feelings! ;)

Chris Bruneau

if the girls are already showing frustrations now after the battle of Winterfell, Holy Hell--cant wait for what's coming. I for one feel the big battle was the last good episode of the series, and it went downhill from here on out. we shall see.....

MarisoL

I love him but he's a shitty pet owner 🤪

Jay schmidt

I mean my thoughts at least on the targaryen stuff is just. Yea it's a targaryen thing and it's only cuz jon and dany didnt grow up in targaryen culture they feel weird about it. Literally nobody has a problem with daemon and rhaenyra

Jay schmidt

I wanted to keep liking the show so bad. First 4 seasons are the best television ever. I'm very excited to see you guys move onto house of the dragon and get back to good shit.

Steel Bum

I watched a video with the theory of Jamie being the one killing the Night King would have been a cool redemption of the "Kingslayer" ... does it make sense, NOPE, just a cool idea lol

Kevin Landon

A lot of people dont realize this, but he was also slaying the queen throughout the show

Eamon

literally no one cares about jon and dannys relation lol, idk why its so offensive, you never said you wanted to skip much much worse scenes lol

Chris Thompson

There was anger toward Breaking Bad??

Shahbaj Mohammad

Ok how are u gyz misunderstanding Jon's intentions about telling his sisters the truth and jumping around thinking he to some degree wants to be the king? First of all if u categorize Danny and Jon, one may be described as wrathful and other as honorable. Jon literally told Cerci the truth in their meeting and ruined the deal initially by telling the truth. And he stood his ground when others told him he should have lied. That's honorable. What kind of honorable man would lie to their family about their relationship with each other when they accepted him despite being a bastard? Secondly Ned Stark's honor was tainted a bit when people found out that he cheated on his wife. Ppl don't care but it was a sacrifice on Ned's part to save Jon. Even Jaime teased Caitlin about how he has been more faithful to his sister comapared to Ned. It is Jon's responsibility imo to set that right atleast to his children. And finally, if ur claim to something is tarnished by me being truthful to my family dispite my full support to ur cause even though I have a better claim... Then it doesn't mean I have some I'll intent or claim. It just means ur a liar acting like a daddies spoiled princess.

I hated this shit as much as everyone on first watch and whilst it is still poorly executed on a second watch of the show it was incredibly clear and logical what they were setting up with Dany the whole time. Realistically they probably just needed 3-5 additional episodes to flesh out the Jon romance and paranoia of it all.

Jonathan Blaze

This is the episode where the B.S really starts to fly,

Swantonbomb

Everyone hates season 8, many for the same reasons. Respectfully, y'all got beef for some weird reasons lol, which is fine and fair i guess. But I assume y'all knowing ahead of time that season 8 was so hated that you guys might've come in with an overly critical eye and appears to be ruining not only the show but causing you to maybe be looking too deep on other aspects. Everyone has their opinions though. I did want to defend my boy Varys though, he is not acting out of character, he's ALWAYS said his loyalty is to the people, he never swears to any lord and up until last episode Danarys was the peoples best choice in his mind. However a better option has come along and he wants to play for team Jon because he immediately realized Jon was an even better choice.

Jon Snow’s Mange

the main problem is Varys doesn't really support Daenerys in the books, there is another character that is not apart of the show who is likely a Blackfyre.

02:05 I disagree. Jon coming insured that Dany and the North fought the Night King. If he had not come backthey all would have died to the Night King. Westores would have belonged to the dead. Jon killing the Night King in my opinon is too much cause he is the heir to the throne and now he saved them all from the long night?? Nah.

BigAL96_

Yeah people should have not told them that

BigAL96_

I agree. I hated who got the iron throne in the end cause that was some dumb ish.

Jonathan Blaze

Yeah, Jon being the cliche hero with his sword saving the day would have been too....cliche.

CursingUser

Shame that "Creative Juices" didn't get the pun respect it deserved

LucasHolliday

Lol this beginning with your points from last episode are interesting, taken but uhhh lol interesting. Gotta say, if you love GoT like I know you do, thrn you know the series is well known for doing the less than obvious. Definitely not a melodrama. It's about to be nowhere NEAR power rangers. It's very hilarious that you wanted more death when you were just sobbing through most of this episode....and I want to say, these characters are alive for more tragedy to occur later on lol... Sidenote: Jon screamed "Go!" but not at Viserion....some believed he was yelling at Arya, because he saw her and knew she could get past the dragon with a distraction.

LucasHolliday

The whole world told them that unfortunately, and while some of the subtleties in the writing are problematic regarding what's soon to come, the skeleton of this thing IS the story that GRRM gave to D+D to sort out and fill in all the details. For instance, hey're debating about the reason Jon didn't kill NK, even though there is almost no way he would've won against him in hand to hand. Jon's a straightforward fighters and great swordsman, but not an assassin, a master of death. Arya is. They're also rushing to conclusions about who all died and who made it out. They made it seem like the Dothraki are all gone when we saw some come back on foot and a few others still mounted behind Jorah. We don't know til this episode that half are still alive. And the arakhs could not have killed the wights by themselves, that's why Melisandre lit them on Fire. Jorah's sword was heartsbane. Valyrian steel. Doesn't need to be set on Fire. So many little things they aren't putting together though.

Fully agree with every one of your complaints about the previous episode except the Arya narrative. Everything that she endured and trained for led her to that moment. Her character was the only story arc that was developed with the necessary skill set (cunning, stealth, and deception) to rival the power of the knight king. She was baptised by the god of death, reborn as the faceless man, but allowed to reclaim her identity to become the ultimate assassin. If the knight king could withstand dragon fire, there's no realistic way a sword wielding Jon Snow could have taken him down in conventional battle. Her story ends becoming the true hero of the realm. Sadly, it's where this show should have ended. It's all downhill from here.

Awwww - I think you guys were way too hard on this ep. It was an unbelievably amazing ep of TV with both of you sobbing. lol. Still love your takes xoxoxo Jon killing the night king to me would've been WAY too obvious for this show. Also to me, Jorah came back all those times in order to protect Dany in that moment - so him dying then made sense and followed the "everyone serving a purpose". The same way Berick died protecting Aria for the the obvious reason. The witch told us - he served his purpose. To me, GoT yes is written for tragedy but it's also written to leave you angry and pissed and wishing the story twisted a way you wanted. It's sort of torturous that way but also breaks the mold that way. Anyway - love the channel. P.S. - also Jorah def wasn't the only one who rode back after the first attack.
