Perhaps because of the Godfather feel, but this is still one of the best episodes of the series.

I think they were thinking about doing this a while back - reducing the workload and being like other reactors with the episode a week format. We just got spoiled for so long that the reduced output is a little jarring. I’m sure the GoT replacement will be one episode a week also, and once Last of Us finishes, Titan will be like WWDITS with 2 half hour eps a week. But hey it’s still a daily show which is more than can be said about pretty much any other reactors out there.

What I appreciate about this show, among other things, is the general restraint not to make the most obvious TV choice in any given episode. Like our conditioned TV-watching brain is primed for Meadow or Hunter to pass out during that final scene, but the show doesn't do that. Instead it gives you a scene that's as beautiful as it is perverse, where Meadow is able to nail the solo she struggled with earlier while also clearly tweaking, where Tony can be the proud dad completely oblivious of what is really going on with his daughter (and has probably already forgot he threatened to castrate someone earlier that day), and where outside the safety of the high school, mob tensions are erupting.

I'm sure they'll eventually increase it to 2x a week once their schedule lightens up and they start finishing series.

I don’t know man, especially with the increased focus on movies come the weekend. All those franchises/bad movies and old school ones eat into their recording time like crazy.

Tony is sleeping with the same mistress, Irina, he had in the pilot episode. However, a different actress took over the role of Irina after the pilot.

It's also a good sign (for a show) when they don't resolve a situation in a single episode.

Yeah, this was 1999, so crystal wasn't considered as dirty as crack but it was cheaper and not as next level as straight cocaine. Adderall existed but it wasn't really popular and it would be some years before it became the study drug.

I hope it does, because right now the plot is drip fed and almost self contained in an episode, but later on with all the crazy things that happen at the end of one episode and beginning of another will be tough once a week.

Intelligence is knowing Frankenstein was the doctor. Wisdom is knowing that when people say Frankenstein, they mean the monster. Edit I hope this didn't come off mean, it was just a perfect use case of the idiom and I couldn't pass it up

Regarding the David "Hockey" and "Korschak" references, The Sopranos has a lot of malapropisms subtly scattered throughout the series. So if you pick up a word that doesn't sound phonetically accurate, just know these guys can be stunads of the highest magnitude when it comes to proper English...😂 PS: Just joined to watch your reactions to this incredible show. Can't wait to experience it again through your fresh set of eyes...☺️

American tv & movies have a general print of good guy in trouble + training montage + triumphing over evil and all that stuff But this show is written realistically thats why when ppl try to predict it by cliché it doesnt work In this show Bad wins sometimes Good wins others just like irl

Kids these days. When this show was originally airing we had to wait almost 1.5 years between seasons 3 & 4. It eventually took 8.5 years to finish airing the full 6 seasons.

Thanks for the lore drop grandpa, but this patreon is paid membership so I'm asking for more volume of the shows that interest me, obviously I would be a patreon even if only 1 show had my interest because the girls are great to watch, but I care more about. TLOU, Sopranos, GOT and AOT than any others, and just like me any other paying patreon member has the right to ask for their liked shows to increase. This isn't really comparable to waiting for tv show to release.

Late to the party, but officially hooked on the show now. Thank you guys so much for giving me an excuse to finally watch this. I also do not mind at all the once/week format. It's better for you guys in the long run, I'm sure. And, to any folks who are knowingly watching a reaction video, who then become aggravated that the people on the reaction video are reacting to something, if you're being serious, then I think I have a solution. Just rewatch the Sopranos...by yourself. It's perfect: this way, nothing interferes with your carefully maintained peace, and everyone present gets to watch the Sopranos the correct way.

Am I tripping or are these episodes on Max edited? I haven’t seen the show in about 10 years. But I’ve watched the complete run dozens of times and I feel like some scenes were cut short in each of the first 3 episodes.

No it's just the weird editing choices of the first season in particular. The show hadn't quite found its style yet, and it can seem jarring on a rewatch.
