I always find it funny how modern adults would use "star-crossed lovers" and Romeo & Juliet as warnings to kids about not prioritizing love because it can lead to death, when really it's a warning to parents about how important it is to take your kid's feelings seriously even if you think it's juvenile.

One thing that bugs me about this movie is they're all delivering these poetic lines as if this is how people talk, trying to make it sound natural and improvised. But to me, it comes off really awkward. People didn't even talk that way in Shakespeare's time.

This isnt the exact play, just for example Romeo kills Paris in the tomb. Its still pretty faithful. I'm a sucker for stylized movies like this, I've always loved this movie, I always wanted more Shakespeare plays adapted in this style.

I'm going to piggy-back off Ariana's brief mention of "the bear movie" to recommend a watch of The Revenant at some point in the future. They liked Villeneuve's work on Dune, and even if it isn't his best movie, DiCaprio still gives it his all.
