This film I loved so much growing up my whole family went to watch it and we really bonded over it to the point that my younger cousin got named Caesar.

If you guys watch the animated Tarzan you should see the live action Tarzan just for funzie's with Alex Skarsgard and Margot Robbie.

All these movies are great! Dawn and War are both directed by Matt Reeves who made The Batman (The Batman Part II officially happening!) and they are classics like this one! Kingdom is directed by Wes Ball (Maze Runner movies) and is also really great! These are all prequels to the original so the bad Tim Burton one is really one you can forget about lol Cant wait for the rest, It’s a great journey!

But yeah, *Rise of the Planet of the Apes* is my favorite planet of the apes because it feels like a cautionary tale rather than satire.

I remember instantly knowing that there would be some fuckery afoot at the ape sanctuary simply based on the actors that were playing the employees.

Also, Slumdog Millionaire is a move right up your guy's alley.

This is a really good reboot, but, sadly, it hasn't aged as well as the two sequels. It's a good watch, but I don't think the movie is aware of how campy it is. It's too earnest for its own good, but the stellar mocap performances elevates everything. (For the record, I LOVED this movie...the first time I saw it.) Also, if people are genuinely getting pissy about you guys calling everything monkeys, then they can cram it up their cram hole. Everyone else knows that you know that they're apes. It's not your fault that "monkey" is more fun to say. OK, actually one more thing. If you weren't already aware, Caesar is another Andy Serkis performance. You know, Gollum.

This trilogy ends up being so much better than it had any right to be

Smapdi

For real. The sequels are so intensely serious that they "should" play as ridiculous. They get away with it because of Matt Reeves commitment to the tone, but also cause it's monkeys.

I avoided watching this movie because of how bad the Tim Burton one was. I can't get over how good this was, literally started crying towards the end. The love interest does look a lot like Thandiwe Newton who was in Mission Impossible 2

When Caesar speaks for the first time, that was a top 10 movie theater moment for me. The gasps!

Yup. Great movie. Andy Serkis mo-capped his ass off in these movies. It's also cool that the CGI gets better with each movie.

Adam Vialpando

You should check out the Pointlesshub video about the Tim Burton version. He talks about similar concerns the filmmakers had before the original film and why he thinks the original film and the new trilogy worked so well.

There’s also a pretty important post-credit scene

2011? Dude... I swear someone is hitting the fast forward button on my life.
