Whose ever idea it was for the camp channel needs a raise.

Alexis

Awesome, perfect film for the channel. Love the over the top Dracula hahaha

KomoUpNorth

The actor who plays Dracula and the dark haired bride fell in love on set and are still married to this day.

Richard Ramirez

Mappels boob shaking for the music in the intro.. :D :D :D im dying. :D

Kelvin

Frankenstein’s monster mvp

Albert Delarosa

The league of extraordinary gentlemen should be your next monsters movie

KomoUpNorth

Once the werewolf goes through its first full moon its a permanent werewolf it doesn't transform back. At least with this lore.

Trevor Go

Penny Dreadful would be so choice for a follow. up.

KomoUpNorth

This movie is goofy but to me also kinda awesome cause they weren't afraid to lean into the silly over the top. I figured you guys were gonna love this. That being said im 33 so I was 12 when it hit theaters lol so like you said directly aimed at my demographic. With that said there are some pretty solid and good special effects for the time this came out. Highly recommend the blooper reel for this movie lol

"We're going away, far away, where they can't find us." - Uncle Vernon, Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone

Athasin

Mind you, this movie came out a year after the first Underworld movie (first movie of one of the best vampire franchises of the early 2000s) which also starred Kate Beckenstale (Anna in this movie).

Athasin

Also Hugh Jackman was Logan/Wolverine before this, the first X-Men movie came out in 2000. I think this movie came out between the second and third X-Men movies.

HonkyPete

Ayy this and "I, Robot" were the only two movies I owned as a kid, probably watched it 50 times. I thought it was the best movie ever back then.

its kinda wild to think van helsing and the devils advocate got similar reactions from the ladies haha

MGCR

Two things: 1. You guys seriously oughta try to get your hands on ALL the old Universal monster movies from the 30s and 40s. 2. Richard Roxburgh ended up marrying one of the ladies who played his wife in this movie.

Alexis

1:50:00 "Goodbye Benny"

Teyon Alexander

Also after The Two Towers, so Faramir’s actor could have taken any role he probably wanted.

See Wut

"those girls would freak your shit" "100%" i'm dying

LucasHolliday

My thoughts exactly....you want 00s camp? Oowee that's another crown jewel

Werevark

I dig this movie so hard, lol. I just love how dumb and fun it is; the actors are just going full melodrama and I'm here for it!

Patrick

If you guys want some (arguably better and with less sensory overload) werewolves, and with some camp, have a look for Dog Soldiers if you haven't already seen it.

This movie absolutely slapped when I was 10, so I'm contractually obligated to keep liking it but I understand the crash out. If I saw it for the first time today I think I'd probably watch it once, say "well that was goofy but fun" and then never watch it again

Owen

This was absolutely exactly what 12-year-old boys in the mid-2000s wanted, and i can say that because i was one of them. It is a movie of its time, for its time. Is it good? Fuck no. But is it *fucking rad*? Yes it is.

Owen

Also i wrote this before I got to the point where Arianna was like "if you're a 12-year-old boy you would like this" and the answer is yes. We did.

Nathan Steele

Saw this movie in theatre when I was 16 and thought it ruled. Does it hold up as an adult? Of course, not. Does it rule anyway, of course

Moonlight

Girls, you HAVE to watch the spy kids movies with us! You mentioned them during this movie, that would be a nostalgia trip for sure. btw this movie was amazing when it came out, it was the weird fantasy era before the marvel saga when everyting felt more "experimental", right there with blade and hellboy movies.

Zombie

Wow, this movie was long. Not really my cup of tea, way too much going on with no attachment to any of it, but the monster universe was fun. And it definitely put me in the Halloween mood. Enjoyed the watchalong! Hoping you guys will do a Final Destination or two during spooky season!!

Zombie

Yeah that blew my mind, I was like “ahh it all makes sense now”

Daniel jackson

You both need to watch the old Dracula and old Frankenstein and wolf man vs Dracula. The studio owns the rights to all the monster movies like the mummy and so on, this movie was based on the older movies and filmed like them with the over the top drama. You also judge the cgi to harshly, this movie came out in 2004 the cgi was some of the best at the time and it still holds up. This is one of my favorite monster movies.

Centarius

11 year old me loved the shit out of this lovie xD I think I was the target audience back then.

Adrian Sørlie

Just joined the chanel and im loving your reactions so far :) This was not right for you guys though. Completly understand why you did not like so much about the movie. You should have gotten the right context and been read up on the required info. It was really fun to see you find references to other media in this though.Like scooby doo. Not strange that you get scooby wibes from this when this is what Scooby is based on ^^

Raptor

This film had more impact with people that knew lots of monster lore. Its like if I was playing with monster action figures from all over the monster lore spectrum and made them fight each other. Idk the history behind the dedication to his father in the credits but that's where my mind went. A father that knew lots of monster lore playing with his kid in some imaginary world where they all meet. League of Extraordinary Gentlemen is kinda like this too but with legendary literary characters. Its just a fun time mixing the lore together. A Hugh Jackman film you might really enjoy is Real Steal.
