In “Friends,” Kenny Ackerman’s story unfolds in full — revealing his brutal childhood, his connection to Levi, and the twisted philosophy that shaped him. As he lies dying, his final conversation with Levi becomes one of the series’ most powerful reflections on freedom and identity. Then in “Bystander,” Eren and Historia’s newfound roles as leaders give way to smaller, more human moments: the Scouts regroup, rebuild, and begin preparing for their next mission — to retake Wall Maria. Between grief, reflection, and hope, these episodes offer a breather before Attack on Titan launches into its next massive arc — reminding us what (and who) the fight for freedom is really about.
