This is when the show cemented itself as one of my favourites, as a non star wars fan. Just so good

Alexis

Its so nice to see how much Maple is into this show 🤣

It is a cantina. The most famous one is the Mos Eisley Cantina on Tattooine.

There’s a very subtle sign during the firefight in the vault that Skeen isn’t on the up-and-up. Taramyn asks him to lay down cover, but Skeen pulls back and Taramyn is killed. In the fog of battle, it looks like nothing, but with the benefit of hindsight in my opinion, he was sacrificing Taramyn.

Tim

Through these early episodes Cassian is really driven by survival instincts. He’s very much like Mike in Breaking Bad/Better Call Saul, in which he’s going to do what he needs to do to survive, but he has a moral code undergirding that instinct. It’s like in Season 1 of BCS when Jimmy hires Mike to steal the $1.6 from the Kettlemans. Mike was hired to steal it and that’s where it begins and ends.

Nemek, my baby boy :(

Sloane Lysbeth

poor nemek. he really was the only one there who seemed decent.

It always kills me how quick Gorn's death is, they barely bring any attention to it compared to the other deaths

Joseph Olson

Scalpula? Did you mean spatula? 😂 RIP Lt. Gorn, Taramyn and Nemik. We don’t know if Cinta left anyone alive in that tower. Skeen told Cassian that Cinta was stone cold and fearless, and that her entire family had been slaughtered by stormtroopers. She might have executed everyone to ensure her escape and leave no witnesses. I like to think she just left them tied up, or at least the Commandant’s wife and son. They had done nothing wrong. Skeen would definitely have tried to kill Cassian whenever they got to where he wanted to go. He needed Cassian to fly the freighter, but as soon as he no longer needed him, he would have tried to get rid of him. There’s no way he would have let 40 million credits fly away. He wanted it all for himself.

Yeah from the moment "Clem" arrived and he was so suspicious that he'd betray them, from him looking through his things, revealing his prison tatts, taking his necklace dude was projecting hardcore because he planned to betray them.

Sankis

Our poor sweet Nemek. There's so much good to go but I genuinely cannot wait for Maple and Arianna's reaction to some S2 scenes and a certain meeting in particular. edit: I believe the Eye of Aldhani was a bit more than a meteor shower. If you notice, the meteors are deep in atmosphere. I THINK it's the planet passing through/right next to an asteroid belt. This is also why it's only every few standard years.

Random: if when you finish Andor you’re in search of a one season show, Amazon’s Carrie TV series is surprisingly good.

Tim

Moss-Bachrach is such a naturally endearing presence that he engenders a lot of good will with the audience too. You could tell that Maple and Ariana were conflating him with Richie from the Bear and were not expecting him to turn.

This show is so deep and rich. I'm sure others have mentioned, but the first season in particular plays like 4 separate acts, so this was the end of act 2. Such a spectacular episode that could have been the season end for a lesser (but still great) show.

Khan Battle

I didnt realize that was already out lol

Gatsbizzle

At first, I was sure they would start the heist in episode 5, but instead the slow burn buildup resulted in what just might be my favorite episode of television ever.

Joshua Luzania

Hey was the kid of the dude that had the heart attack that kid from HotD that was a suitor to Rhaenyra then stabbed that jerk through the stomach?

Eric H

We know Cinta left them alive. Once the cargo ship launches, there's a scene of the hostages watching The Eye as it draps across the sky. Cinta's no longer in front of the hostages by the window. All 4 of them are still alive. Cinta had to have been on the move at that point.

Joseph Olson

Good observation. I missed that Cinta wasn’t still in the room with them and was already on her way down the hill. Thanks.

I've seen a lot of people make that interpretation and I don't buy it. I don't think he purposefully sacrifices Taramyn. Without Taramyn there, Skeen's move to the freighter is a lot more exposed and puts him under greater exposure of fire than if Taramyn was there to cover him. I think it's more that Skeen is pinned down and unwilling to expose himself. Of course, that's still a sign of certain character trait, but I don't think it's as duplicitous there yet as some people make it out to be.
