We're getting down to it, do we know if they are doing season 4? If so, have they been informed about what S4 is like?

The layers of the asylum scene referencing the previous clip show in season 2 is incredible. I also just noticed that the song in the background during the scene where Jeff and Annie are in costumes is from the end of 1x22 with the college movie parody. The video game episode is incredible, it was meant to be earlier in the season but the animation just took so long that this is where it ended up. Each character's jump is a famous game character jump like Mario or Mega Man. Dan Harmon has also said that the end tag for the episode was supposed to be Abed presenting Pierce a modified version of the game where his dad tells Pierce that he's proud of and loves him and Pierce giving Abed a hug in thanks, but Chevy was being Chevy that day and refused to film it so it never got done.

I haven't seen it in other comments. In case they don't know, Dan Harmon was fired at the end of season 3, leaving two new guys from other shows to come in as showrunners for season 4. It's a noticeable step down in quality but arguably not as much as Arrested Development. There are still good episodes especially the one written by Jim Rash (Dean Pelton). Dan Harmon also got hired back starting with season 5, so it's just a dip in the show rather than a full decline.

Oh also it’s only 13 episodes compared to how long that cut of AD season 4 was

You're not wrong, but I'm picky about my Community lol. I have only seen S4 once when the complete bluray set came out and II'm happy for people that find enjoyment in it, but it's such a hollow shell of what we know the show can be. Either way, I'm sure it's moot arguing about it now as they have likely already filmed the first part of the next season they are doing whichever one it may be.

I don't know if the asylum bit is a homage to Sucker Punch but it seemed that way when I watched the episode shortly after the movie. I believed it too. A delightful moment of unreality. And I find it very funny they thought of a plausible way to have a videogame with the kind of depth that only exists in fiction, that it sort of had to have to make for good TV: just force the team to work on it for 30 years while always keeping it ready to be played in the case of Cornelius' death.

Season 4 is fine. It's a kinda below average season of Community and a top-tier season of television if it were any other show, especially for network television. Season 6 however...
