For anyone concerned about some of our more adverse reactions to Dark, I just want to offer a little perspective! ❤️

Just as some of you are telling us what you want from us or how you expect us to react versus how we actually do, please remember that we don't know how this story ends the way you all do! We're experiencing the entire show for the very first time, without the hindsight that comes from knowing how everything connects.

As we move further into Season 3, you'll see much deeper conversations happening as things begin to pull together. Our feelings change RAPIDLY throughout this show (as they should!), because the story really does take you on an emotional roller coaster. You have to be willing to see us through that journey! This is a complicated, emotional show, and we're experiencing all of that in real time.

Now, I'm sorry for the incest hate 😂

I (Maple) have two things that genuinely horrify me: incest and cannibalism. It's been that way since DAY ONE on this channel. If you're new here, Game of Thrones got the exact same treatment from me for quite a while. I couldn't even finish the dramatized Jeffrey Dahmer series with Evan Peters because I just... can't. 😭

And when those subjects appear in a story, I immediately get stressed because I assume something deeply sinister is afoot. Nothing good ever seems to come of it!

If I could pull an Adam and travel back in time to warn myself that my hatred of incest would not be universally supported in the comments, I would. But alas, I fear I will always be a hater. I would at least TRY to prepare myself. 😂

THAT BEING SAID!

Separating those personal feelings from the greater story, and having now watched further into Season 3, I absolutely understand that there are much bigger concepts at play outside of these characters' entanglements. Even though I still feel like something is missing, we're holding out for the mystery to reveal itself!

I also personally have a huge interest in esotericism, something I don't really talk about much on this channel. So, for me, Dark explores some incredibly fascinating concepts that I would genuinely love the opportunity to discuss more deeply as we get further into the story.

And please, still NO SPOILERS! We have a couple more episodes left before we finish the series in real life!

Ultimately, we react in our own exaggerated, emotional, sometimes ridiculous ways. We laugh, we cry, we get frustrated, we make jokes, and we change our minds. That's part of the experience, and it's what makes watching something for the first time so special.

So just give us a little time, you know? Let us experience the story without expecting us to have the understanding that comes from already knowing the ending ❤️

Anyway, thank you all for being here, for watching along, and for being so passionate about this show. We really do appreciate it!

We cannot WAIT to share Season 3 with you all! 🖤

Love Maple

2026-10-20 10:00 First of all, I don't think time travel shows is for you. That's ok. Let go of the "incest" thing. This is THE time travel show for people who actually enjoy the concept because it tries to be as "realistic" as it can be (minus the fact that it's not possible irl. This is a philosophical exercise, if you will). It's the ouroboros. Everyone here is STUCK in the LOOP. The past influences the future but the future also influences the past. In Katarina's words, THE TOWN IS A FESTERING WOUND. Look at the family tree. Yes, it's fucked up. That's the point. Everyone in the loop is suffering because of it. The name of the town translates to "to twist/to writhe". Every character here is a chess piece. Ok so to answer your question about some people knowing if they die and some don't. The way Noah knew he could actually succeed in killing Claudia was because he was given the newspaper clipping that said she's going to die. That's why he even attempted it. Otherwise, the time wouldn't allow it to happen. He has no idea if Adam can be killed, but he fully believes that it is now his true mission and he could succeed. He's wrong and time prevents him from killing him. You need to remember that this show operates in the confines of DETERMINISTIC time travel. Things have to happen the way they happen. Time is literally = God. Noah understood that Adam lied and the things he believed he was doing "for the greater good" weren't justified. There's no Paradise that Adam promised him. Adam wants to destroy everyone in the loop. You need to understand that this show wants you to do your homework, it doesn't want you to wait for the reveal. You need to pay attention to all the religious symbolism, it's very important to the story and will help you understand things better. And yes, the show was written to tie all the loose ends and answer every question. It will all make sense in the end but there are many things you can build your own theories upon (if you are interested in the show that is). This is a mystery box but not in the JJ Abrams way.

Fun fact: "Winden" is the German version of the English verb "to wind" like winding a clock or winding a rope around something

Shingirai Samupindi

So much flies over their head man and not even the super complex stuff, even if it’s a great show if it’s not for you then it’s not for you they keep getting frustrated that characters can’t change event when that’s what the show has been HAMMERING home since Mikkel

SabotheHunter

I promise this show does end conclusively! I can tell whilst everything is complicated now when it is all said and done it will make sense.

Jeff I.

I mean, Season 3 gets even more complex in terms of plot and character relationships. We'll see if they really enjoy it.

ckenney711

There is actually one question EYE still have, and don't think they ARM us with the answer

Golladan

Maybe pose your questions and we can try answering them in a non-spoilery way.

Chloe

lol I love how maple wants to theorize and Ariana is like I just can’t do this 😂 I feel like if they had Chad come in and explain what they know so far and how this is working and the questions they should have

Golladan

I don't think Ariana even knows what she is confused about.

Wunder

Great response and I wholeheartedly agree

E L Δ T E

cancel this reaction series it's joever

I can imagine it would be frustrating if you keep thinking you should have had a 3 season arc of a story figured out by the end of season 2. You don't need to be mad at the show or yourself for not knowing things before you are told them. And like pretty much everyone else says, get over the incest lol. There is nobody on the "team incest" side of the debate. It just doesn't help you to fixate.

Lead Dock

Alright, no spoilers, just clarifications: Time in this show (and maybe in reality) isn't linear, it all happens simultaneously, so thinking of some events as happening before others doesn't really work. Even when travelling through time, you can't change things, because they're already happening right now. The key to really understand this is Jonas going back to try and stop his Dad ending it, and that being the thing that causes him to end it. Things that happen are always going to happen. So, what are the characters trying to do? Team Adam want to try and end the time loop world and everyone in it as none of them should exist. Team Claudia want to keep the cycle going so that their loved ones can still exist. That's basically the crux of it. And yeah, it's incestuous, but none of them should exist at all, really. Jonas as he's the direct product of time travel, and even Martha is descended from Agnes, who's part of the whole mess. Their love is genuine, and the fulcrum that the story pivots around. It is gross, but it's also innocent. It's not Jaime and Cersei fucking next to the corpse of their bastard son, it's two nerdy kids who fell in love and later found out they're related.

E L Δ T E

They obviously don't

Kevin Landon

Iv got 4 episodes left and Im still wondering about so much, lol, but i was for sure putting more together at this point than they have, like, they shouldve been known about Charlotte and Elizabeth and Noah. Theres also a main character that we dont know both parents of at this point, Im surprised they havent wondered, but then again, Ive used the Dark guide many times to try and guess connections

Kevin Landon

I feel like they can only see the incest as a fetish, even though this is a fantasy time travel show, and the incest is necessary to tell this story, Maple taking the Noah and Elizabeth reveal and saying shes not getting creative enough on her onlyfans was wild, like nobody is beating their meat to this

JC

It's a shame they seem so frustrated with the show, because, having decided to forge ahead when I didn't want to watch one episode a week with them, I am possibly enjoying it more on rewatch now that I have all of the knowledge that the show gives you. But it seems like they are so frustrated with it that I'm doubtful either of them will want to rewatch the show in the future. If the frustration over the story doesn't keep them from ever rewatching, then for sure the incest will. They've probably finished the series by now, so I'm really curious where they eventually landed on that. It's a little strange how fixated they are on the complexity of this family tree, and yet are not in any way understanding of how tangled everyone is. I'm pretty sure they both have partners, if someone came up to them right now and told them they are actually related to their partner, would they claim that they would just fall out of love on the spot? I really don't think it works like that, for anyone. I'm interested in how they'll handle season 3 though

PIG

Personally… if I can watch a show that has murder I can watch a show that has incest. One is way worse than the other. Us Americans are weird.

Golladan

There is no reason for them to have known about Charlotte/Elizabeth/Noah at this point. That Elizabeth and Charlotte were each other's mother/daughter is something that gets revealed this episode.

Thom

I subbed just for the dark reactions and ive never seen a reaction video to the show where they are literally HATING on the 2 main characters for even just sharing a screen together lol Its also hard to talk about Jonas/Martha without talking about the ending and one of the central points of the show so I wont say anything but... I hope they can find some empathy for these 2 people who has found themselves in this fked up situation/knot where the entire universe and time itself is against them.

Diegesis

Just speaking for myself (maple) I am really enjoying it though for Arianna I can understand what she is saying maybe because I know her well but I feel there is more to the story we just do not know yet lol so we will see!!

Peterwc

Thanks for reacting to this show guys. I know it can be a frustrating one at times. It’s been really enjoyable each week!

Styles

Y’all should just watch It Welcome to Derry or Widows Bay, we need some spooky season showssss

Diegesis

We are looking at Widows Bay soon!!

Jay Willis

I watch the reactions just to see your jaws drop in moments like emo Martha showing up, haha.

Dustin

I totally get where you guys are coming from and at this point a lot of it is still supposed to be "Huh?!" and "Wtf?". So don't worry about those feelings. This is probably one of, if not my favorite episodes of the show, especially once you've seen the whole thing and can do a rewatch. There are so many crumbs and tidbits that answer things and set up important things later all while this majestic final 10 mins or so is going on. As always with Dark, season 3 will bring more questions but you'll also start getting the answers to everything you've been wondering. I know it may not feel like it right now but everything ties up very nicely and all your questions will be answered by the finale. Truly an amazing show. My favorite part of the post-discussion: "Is this apocalypse worldwide? I'd be so mad man?" hahahaha
