This is the episode I’ve been waiting for. For my money the episode that turns it from God-tier Star Wars to God-tier art.

THIS SHOW IS THE BEST. And I love your reactions girls! so gud.

I remember there was an interview with Andy Serkis back when these episodes first aired and he talked about how the way he played Kino is that he pictured him as a union leader who thought he was going to make a difference for his fellow workers, but just ended up getting them either killed or imprisoned when the Empire cracked down on them. For me it just added so much to all the nuances of his performance - the fact that he clearly cares for everyone on his floor but he's so focused on just getting the work done and not causing any ripples, becoming so outraged at the unfairness but then so hesitant when it comes time for him to speak on behalf of the other prisoners. And then the tragedy of him not being able to swim, and it kinda connecting to Luthen's big speech - he burned his life to make a sunrise he'll never see. Small thing I really love about Luthen's speech is the way that Stellan's natural accent gets stronger the more he talks. I know it wasn't an intentional character choice, but I really like the idea that during this speech where he lets a bit of his true self be revealed to Lonni, he's also unintentionally unpeeling that additional layer of disguise. Another great episode from y'all as always :) Can't wait for next week

This is one of my favorite episodes of Season 1. Those monologues were outstanding. I would say it’s my favorite, but there’s an upcoming episode that’s just as good, in my opinion. Edit: I have a question. Have you seen Rogue One? I can’t remember if you mentioned that in previous reactions. I’d like to know so that I don’t put any spoilers in my comments.

And we still haven't got to my personal favorite monologue this season

Teyon Alexander

This is a great reaction! I also love that you connect them to their other roles because it means you’re not excited or at least interested in seeing them again!

RX2904

One of the best things I have seen was Andy Serkis coming out at Star Wars Celebration and the whole arena getting on-program and shouting "one way out" over and over again.

RX2904

I think Ariana has. Maple hasn't seen any Star Wars at all. This is her introduction to the SW universe which is awesome.

I think one of the very smart decisions by tony gilroy and the writers is showing how revolutions isn't just one super hero beating all of the bad guys, it's everyone contributing to actions AND ideas that affect everyone around him. Andor inspired Kino who used his strengths to inspire the prison, who like Luthen fought to get everyone out KNOWING he wasn't making it out in the end. There are threads throughout this that is subtle yet brilliant

It's crazy rewatching episodes like this one that I ended up loving season 2 even more than season 1. Season 1 is itself a masterpiece.

Pyt

Holy shit I love this fucking show. I had completely written off Star Wars, but it has pulled me right back in.

Eric Wallace

This episode is top 10 star wars. That doesn't seem special at first blush, but there is so so so much star wars. Top 5 monologs in star wars and 2 of them are in this episode. If y'all dont watch rogue one and then new hope immediately after this episode, I'll unsubsribed

Just when I thought I couldn't Lib out any harder than this week, Episode 10 of Andor drops on the channel, on the 5th of November where I can rewatch V for Vendetta.

Lead Dock

One of the best TV episodes of this decade. The prison break, the monologues, just amazing. I love that this feels like an actual war. The Rebellion choosing to sacrifice 50 good men as pulling the attack would risk exposing their source is SO real! After the British cracked the enigma code and were able to intercept and understand German messages in WWII, they didn't act on a lot of the information as they didn't want to give away the fact that they were listening. If they had, the Germans would change up their encryption, and they'd be back to square one. They sacrificed lives to protect information. It's ruthless and horrible, but it's real warfare stuff, and its presence in this makes the Star Wars universe feel more real than ever imo.

Merlin

"I need all the heroes I can get" -> cuts to andor and melshi This show is just so good

Drueisms

Yep, the sky is the limit after this one.
