This episode gave me all the chills lol. MHA is so consistent with greatness. Love this show

In this episode, we understand why Izuku was chosen and not Mirio. Sure, Mirio is strong, experienced, and thoughtful. But too thoughtful to be All Might's successor

"Nezuko from Hunter x Hunter"? Something tells me you messed up one half of that sentence XD Regarding All Might though; I don't think it's even necessarily the fact that someone is going to kill you. The way they were talking about it, to me at least it felt like being diagnosed terminal. Like you develop cancer or some other disease and the doctor says "You only have 3 years to live". What do you do? To you take it easy for the remainder of your days, do you double down and rush through things to get as much stuff done as possible, or do you just keep living your life the way you've been living because that's what made you happy? Thats the feeling I got, and appropriate to the whole Overhaul situation in the episode; there's not really one answer that's inherently better then the other, it's all going to come down to your own personal code and what you feel is right.

I kinda get the feeling though that Mirio is only like that on account of Nighteye. The whole "Nature/Nurture" idea. If the entire thing is Nighteye going "You chose wrong, I'll make up for your mistakes", then he' obviously going to train Mirio with more with his mindset then All Mights. On the other hand if All Might decided to train Miro personally, he probably would've doubled down on the "help at any cost" philosophy like he does with Midorya. At this point there's no real way to tell if Mirio was like this before Nighteye tried training him. Maybe he was like this the whole time, or maybe he was also like Deku, but Nighteye took this opportunity to train the "next symbol of peace" to be more like how he always hoped All Might would be.

I think the next episodes will prove that he is not too thoughtful. It wasn’t a choice All Might didn’t even speak to Mirio, he has already given it to deku before they meet. He would have been a very good choice for the power not only because of his abilities, his character too.

I'm not so sure. Mirio accepted Nighteye's values for a year. Where Izuku struggled from day one.

The situation with Eri and the Shie Hassaikai investigation can be compared to an undercover agent planted in a crime organization, where he witnesses a lot of horrible crimes against innocent people. In that situation, do you blow your cover to save the people in front of you, or do you keep building a case to take down the criminals at a later date?

Which, again, could just be because he got accepted into the agency. Nighteye being the first one to really try and train/mold Mirio could be that reason. We have no idea what he was like in the first month of his internship; maybe he was struggling just as much as Deku was.
