Ah yes evil Shanks theory...I guess you'l just have to wait and see...too bad Shanks appears once in a blue moon

José Lima

Shanks wipes the floor with Blackbeard for now. You need to see more, can't spoil 😅 Haki is a thing you will understand more

Tobito

And good for noticing, Shanks is the most handsome man in one piece. No homo.

Kizaru

That comment you made about Kizaru, is actually one of the reasons I find him one of the most interesting characters. In the current arc in the anime, we did learn a little bit more about him. But he is still a bit mysterious even nowadays. I think Oda will reveal the past of the admirals at some point in the future though, and maybe the reason each one act the way they do.

Dow Sha-

dude pulled up with one arm spanked everyone stopped the war, farmed aura then dipped.

I lowkey have respect for Sengoku in this episode because I believe he gave Shanks the bodies simply because of his respect for Shanks. I don't think it had anything to do with Shanks flexing his power or anything. You have to remember that Sengoku may not be able to beat Shanks right now but in his prime, he was on par with Roger and Whitebeard. So I don't think he was afraid of Shanks in this scene

ChosenAnimal

Only bc it’s u. That bar goes hard

ChosenAnimal

Also shanks looking mad healthy after stopping another yonko. Dude a goat

I've always held the feeling that despite what the other marines were talking about, Sengoku would have at least buried Ace and Whitebeard respectfully even if he didn't hand them over to Shanks. We've seen all throughout this war that even though Sengoku is efficient at leading the Marines, he's not cruel. Heck, I'm also certain that Sengoku would've ordered the Marines to stand down after Whitebeards death too. The only reason the war continued is that Akainu kept "motivating" the soldiers while Sengoku had his hands full dealing with the whole Blackbeard situation.

Nghi Nguyen

Blackbeard is strong but not brave. He’s not gonna engage a fight where victory is not guaranteed. Unlike Luffy or Whitebeard, who is more brave and fight stronger enemies, Teach achieved stuff with his big-brain plan & scheming.

i mean i would take the "bb scared shanks face with grain of salt" i mean some weak ass sea monster took shanks arm, it could be that bb had innocent peoople hostage or something, shanks is for sure way stronger than him atm

Ashish Kumar

Isn't that gunman with Shanks Ussop's dad? The dude scared and put pause on an admiral. Edit: oh shiz. That's not Ussop's dad cuz his name was Yassop or something.

Ashish Kumar

I don't think Shanks on purpose lost his arm, just to teach a lesson that Luffy didn't even ever learn. That dude Luffy has no sense of danger. Shanks in a split second decision saved luffy by defending him from the creature and lost an arm by circumstance, not by choice and on purpose. Shanks back then definitely wasnt as strong as today. He looks much different now today, buff and all. He must have become an emperor much after the arm incident, getting stronger during the time. Only MCs aren't supposed to get stronger with time.

Vinsmoke Nathan

Shanks had a 1 billion berry bounty at that time. He may not have been a yonko but he very easily could’ve used conquerors or armament haki to avoid losing his arm. Manga spoilers ahead, don’t read if you don’t want to be spoiled -

Ashish Kumar

Luffy has 1 billion on him too, right? He doesn't know Haki at all. Shanks was a step above him back then perhaps but not as proficient as today. I don't know manga detail about this one so this is just an analysis.

Vinsmoke Nathan

Okay I won’t mention the manga detail then. But luffy definitely knows basic conquerors (he has used it many times, and learned advanced conquerors coating on onigashima). And he knows basic armament (he has used it many times, and even learns advanced armament in Wano). Luffy was using basic conquerors and basic armament in the beginning of post-ts, so I thinks it’s safe to say shanks (worth 1B at the time, and later known for his top tier haki) knew at bare minimum the basics of haki. Shanks used conquerors on the sea king after it took his arm so that’s confirmation he knew conquerors then. Also, for the luffy-shanks (1Bil) comparison, luffy wouldn’t have gotten to/surpassed 1Bil shanks until Wci, when Luffy was proficient in all 3 types of basic haki and knew advanced observation (future sight). Imo, all things point towards shanks knowing haki at the time and him purposefully losing his left arm.

Dr. M (Mrugalski)

i forget where, but I think it was confirmed shanks was not playing around or going easy when he received the injury from BB. Blackbeard is mysterious, and a bitch at taking hits, but hes also a serious threat.

Ashish Kumar

Yes he knew haki but he didn't have time to use it before he lost his hand. My half point was shanks wasnt on a level that could have prevented him loss of an arm in that fast moment. He used haki later on the beast but too late.

Vinsmoke Nathan

We’ve seen characters with much slower reaction time, movement speed and combat speed be perfectly able to react and engage in combat with much faster opponents/attacks than that of the sea king. So we’ll have to agree to disagree about that.

Ashish Kumar

I concur. I don't think Shanks sacrificed his arm to teach Luffy a lesson he didn't learn.

Ploussy

Ben Beckman is Shanks right hand man , Yassop is his sniper.
