It's going to be really interesting to see what your opinion on the events next episode is. It's not even that they're necessarily controversial, but I've seen people have a lot of very differing thoughts and theories, and I'm really curious to see what yours end up being.

Philip

I love how the celestial dragons always rage bait you and W garp slander

Philip

I've gotten used to it. I honestly think it's funny how out of pocket they are. But no, somebody needs to go up to Marie Jois and kill them all, we need Eren in this universe

g27

First of all, No. Decken said it 27 trillion times that he loves her body, he loves how big she is, he thinks both of them were in love with each other until she told him he’s not her type just a few moments ago and then he now wants her dead. Oda is trying his best to change the story after messing up, he forgot how old she was when he did the math, he an idiot, this doesn’t work. So no, Decken doesn’t have an alibi. Why was Otohime teaching a class about the human? What does she think will change? The issue was never with the fishmen, it was with the humans. Let’s just assume, let’s just imagine, let’s just think if she had a brain; Fishmen LIKE humans… so they go to the surface and live on land… but humans STILL hate fishmen because they’re racist. Even if fishmen adored humans, it’s the humans that despise fishmen. Why is she trying to fix fishmen if they’re not broken? Their hate is valid, humans’ hate is not valid, so she should try to fix that, the humans need the fixing not the fishmen. She should try to stop the propaganda where it’s originating from, not even talk to the humans and be “We’re good, see?” Yeah they don’t care that you’re good, they never said you’re evil, they’re just racists. Her intention is wrong to begin with, Fishmen DON’T WANT to live with humans, she shouldn’t force that on them! She’s like Sabo’s parents and Garp, they don’t want that!!! And it’s not even their environment!! They’re Fishmen, they live better in the sea! Who gives a crap about humans, let them be! The fishmen will not listen to Otohime when she tells them to sign the papers, but listen to her when she tells them to back down from killing the celestial dragon that tortured them himself? First of all, how does the celestial dragon come to Fishmen island if it’s Whitebeard’s territory? I thought they only visited land that’s under the government’s protection. That’s why I thought to myself that it’s good that Fishmen island is protected usually by pirates even if Big Mom is not nice, than for it to be protected by the government, because then they’d get frequent visits by the celestial dragons, and you know how much they like mermaids, you know that they get their slaves during visits, no mermaid would be safe. So this doesn’t even add up. They shot like six guns at the celestial dragon at point blank and they still missed? Only one scratched the queen? This doesn’t make sense. The fishmen said, “Why would you protect him? You don’t know what he did to us in the past. He treated us like we were animals, not even slaves.” No, he treated you like you don’t even have a conscious. And this idiot says, “I can feel your anguish, it’s very painful”, I don’t give a damn what you feel, I couldn’t care less about your feelings. You actually have no clue what he did to them, she has no idea what’s happening there, that’s why she loves them so much. “You can’t plant your anger and resentment towards humans in children’s minds”. Yes you do, you should definitely tell your children that celestial dragons are bad people. “They need a chance to meet humans and figure them out on their own.” Not true Lucky, they should give them a reality check, they shouldn’t go to the surface and get slaughtered by humans, especially the mermaids, the hell? What kids need has nothing to do about feelings and who likes and who hates and what I like or what I hate. What they need is truth! It’s TRUTH! Then the morons drop their weapons? What should’ve happened is them not just killing him, but torture him to death. You know what pissed me off even more? That the morons tried to kill him instead of torturing him. Make that celestial dragon wish he were in hell. He tries to blow her brains out and she goes with him on the ship? No one listens to her, but then they can’t stop her leaving with the celestial dragon? What a switch up? She’s weak, just pull her back from her arm, throw her across the land. And now that he’s leaving, he can tell the others that the fishmen wanted to kill him and cover up the story, and they let him go! No, he had to die! I hope to God he enslaves her and she dies there, so she can look deep inside herself and actually know how wrong she was about not killing him. So she understands that defending devils will not make anything better. She totally deserves this! That’s what she gets for saying “I feel for you”, shut your mouth. Oooooh I hate her so much. We just saw the fishmen withdraw their signatures because pirates robbed a store and they let them leave the island! She disrespects her own people and suck ups to humans! Humans do all that to her society, and she DEFENDS the humans? She doesn’t deserve the title of queen! She’s worse than Garp!! She has NO RESPECT for her own kind, she doesn’t even defend them! She ALLOWS them to be enslaved and literally CRIED when Fisher Tiger said he’ll free them!

Mike G. M.

Whoo boy; you really got mad at this one, didn't you? XD (And tbh; Decken you can go ahead with: I don't think anyones going to get mad at you for thinking he'ss Oda' worst character lol) The Otohime stuff on the other hand; some of it I can't talk about because the show itself is going to try tackling it (Even if in one case it's going to take another 500 eps to do so), but there's a few things I think I can say. First of: I don't know if you are American or know about American history; but Otohime and Tiger were both inspired by Martin Luther King and Malcolm X respectively and how they approached racial injustice between the subjugated Black Americans and White Americans. MLK in particular was very much entirely anti-violence when it came to trying to obtain equality, so keep that mentality in mind when thinking about how Otohime approachs things. > Fishmen DON’T WANT to live with humans, she shouldn’t force that on them! > They’re Fishmen, they live better in the sea Wrong on both accounts actually; her public drunken tirade in the last ep proves that. They DO want to live on the surface, it's why children constantly sneak up and go up there. Fishman can *technically* live in the sea in the same way you can *technically* live the forest. It's posible for sure, but why would you choose that over living in a house? Now; is living on the surface nesiarily the same as living "with humans"? Not quite, but unless you go full Arlong and just genocide them all, you're not going to be able to avoid it. So when the choice are "Live with people on the surface" or "Live away from people at the bottom of the ocean", they're doing the latter because it's safer, but make no mistake; they do absolutely want to live on the surface where humans are and do the things that humans get to do. That is just fact at this point. >First of all, how does the celestial dragon come to Fishmen island if it’s Whitebeard’s territory? I thought they only visited land that’s under the government’s protection. It's both. Fishman Island is both a sovereign nation allied with the World Government, and land that was protected from Pirate using Whitebeards name as well. Realistically, there's no reason a World Noble couldn't travel there if they wanted to have a meeting with Neptune for whatever reasons; the same way that one Noble visited Luffys hometown. Believe it or not; there actually is restriction to the Nobles that prevent them from doing just anything they want to the citizens of allied nations; they legally have to treat Fishman Island in the same way they would treat Alabasta or something like that. The reason they have free reign on Saboady is because Sabaody isn't actually an island affiliated with the Government. So legal loopholes, and yada yada is why they can act with full impunity there and not other places. The only reason Whitebeard needed to step up is because of specifically pirates. Similar to, again, Alabasta or Water 7, being allied with the government may give you political protective, but doesn't necessarily provide military protection. It still falls onto the countries themselves to have their own army to safeguard citizens if any pirate reaches their land. Fishman Island is a special case because being at the literal crossroads of the oceans; it has like 20 times the pirate traffic of any other country, so Whitebeard stepped in to provide protection on that front. (And keep in mind, he's not even technically doing anything major; it's not like he's got crew stationed there. He's entirely running on the power of his name alone to prevent anyone doing anything serious to the island; as we've seen, even under his protection, there's still pirate robbing places all the time.) > Only one scratched the queen? This doesn’t make sense. Either plot hole; or you can explain it away since we know she has Observation Haki and that's a thing that can be used to explain plot holes like this now. Not too much on this point, I don't even like Haki as a power set but hey; do what you want. > “You can’t plant your anger and resentment towards humans in children’s minds”. Yes you do, you should definitely tell your children that celestial dragons are bad people. > “They need a chance to meet humans and figure them out on their own.” What kids need has nothing to do about feelings and who likes and who hates and what I like or what I hate. What they need is truth! Here's the nuance; you can hate Celestial Dragons without hating humans. You can also hate pirates without hating humans. This is what she's trying to get at with "Let them figure it out on their own", its about hating individuals without being indoctrinated to hate the group. Hating humans gets you Arlong; he had a number of very specific humans that cause him pain and he has every right to hate. And who did he take that out on? Namis town. Actually innocent people that had literally nothing to do with what happened to him; but they were humans and thats all that mattered to him. > No one listens to her, but then they can’t stop her leaving > She’s weak, just pull her back from her arm, > I hope... she dies there, so she can look deep inside herself Kinda just want to point out that you seem to be contradicting yourself here lol. If you wanted her to die for her mistakes, you wouldn't also talk about having people physically stop her from leaving. More seriously though; the point is again, they do listen to her. They just don't like the message she's trying to make; but that doesn't mean they don't respect her. Even when they took back the petitions, they were apologetic about it; you don't say "sorry" to someone if you don't at least respect them. But even if they didn't respect her; that's even less reasons to hold her back. If you don't respect her; just let her go and hope she dies. And if you do respect her; if she's so adamant that she wants to go; why wouldn't you respect her decision, even if you know it's a mistake? > Humans do all that to her society, and she DEFENDS the humans? What Otohime is trying to defend against is that she knows the world is 70% good innocent humans (Yes, some of them may be prejudiced or scared of Fishmen, but there isn't any inherent malice to them, and that's what's important), 29% Pirates and other crooks, and 1% Celestial Dragons. Let's say a group of Fishman decided to go visit the village that Usopps from, or see Choppers hometown, you won't say to them "You can't go there, the people there will enslave you" because that's just objectively not true. They might be freaked out, but they're not going to deliberate try and hurt any Fishman that visits. But unless a child can actually experience the difference; how are they meant to know? In scenario; let's say they did just shoot this particular Dragon: All the kids are going to see is them just killing "a human". If this is there first experience; it is going to be a *LOT* harder to explain "Most humans aren't the bad type of humans and you shouldn't' kill them" because they're children: how are they meant to understand the difference? Imagine having a father try to explain to you how you shouldn't abuse people, but who also turns around and hits his wife because *she* deserves it and that somehow makes it okay; it's not about being right or wrong, it's about what a child can actually understand and how difficult it is to get a child to understand nuance when they have such a precedent for black and white thinking. Like I said, there's more that I'd like to say, but later episodes will do that by themselves lol.

Mike G. M.

They don't rage me either, but I think in my case it's because it's too... obvious, I guess? There are a lot of things that I have and will rage at; but it's the difference between the subtlety of knife through the ribs as opposed to the giant massive scene of being hit with a sledgehammer. The hammer I can handle; the knife is what gets me. You want me to rage or be disgusted; you got to be a lot more precise in hitting the exact ideas that set me off then the Celestial Dragons do.

AccordingToLucky

Its obvious but it works on my, i hate wilfully ignorant morons lmao

Bogdan Petrovic

Celestial dragons are 10/10 ragebait creations.

Let me edit that comment real quick😅

g27

I don’t know much about Martin Luther King and Malcom X, I’m not American, sorry. I might look into it later on, but I can’t speak about that. Children sneak up and go to the surface because they want the theme parks and rollercoasters, not because they wanted to live there. And they knew that all along and still didn’t build that for their children on fishman island. Fishmen don’t want to go to the surface because of how dangerous it is to them, that’s why they’re afraid, especially the mermaids. Do you want to go to Syria? No it’s dangerous… “But I like the land over there”, yeah you go there and when you get shot tell me how beautiful the nature’s landscape is over there lol. She said, “There are more beautiful places than we can imagine in the world. There is no place that we should not go.” Does she think the world she’s living in is heaven? She’s trying her best to make it heaven. Reality check, she’s acting like a toddler, literally, “I wanna go there, I wanna go there”, BUT ITS DANGEROUS, “No I wanna go there, I wanna go there 🍼”. “There is no place that we should not go”, so you want to go to the New World? Does she think the New World would be nice to her? As if that Celestial Dragon was going to be too? Okay guys let’s go to the New World and check that out. She’s not rational. She’s a baby. Her getting scratched by one bullet is definitely a plot hole, it doesn’t make any sense. If she dodged the bullets then the bullets will hit the celestial dragon. How did they miss? It was point blank, it was right up against his face, he was smoking on his barrel like a Newport. And she came and DODGED those bullets by SHIELDING him with her WHOLE BODY and they STILL missed lmaoo. Dodging the bullets wouldn’t even make sense to protect him. It’s like Akainu wanted to punch Luffy, then Ace came to protect Luffy, then he dodged Akainu’s fist and it just hit Luffy🤷‍♂️😂. Yes you can hate celestial dragons and pirates without hating humans. But “Let them figure it out on their own” is not the case. It’s not about feelings, it was never about feelings for me. They should be taught the reality of what’s going on right now. They should understand what’s happening. I didn’t mean to sound contradicting. I was pointing out the idiocracy of Neptune and everyone else that they didn’t do shis about her going with that prick, even though they knew he’d just take her as a slave and eventually kill her. And I was pointing out her idiocracy of protecting and even going with him, to the point she deserves what’s coming after her. And they shouldn’t respect her decision, even if it was a mistake. Because it’s a stupid decision, and you shouldn’t respect stupid things. She’s not wise at all. Even if you respect her, it’s not like all her decisions are respectable. It’s not like she does no wrong. Respecting her doesn’t mean she speaks the gospel. Fisher Tiger is a respected person, but even if I were there and he said don’t kill humans, I’d be like no dummy, you’re going to get us all killed, you’re wrong, it’s stupid. Arlong said it himself at the beginning of episode 544, “Brother Tai was a fool”. Parents shouldn’t say don’t hit people, then they hit people. Like when you said a father would say don’t abuse people but then he’d hit his wife. What they’re supposed to say is there are good people, and there are bad people, and you hit bad people. The children will see them killing a human no surprise of course, but they tell them he’s a bad human. You already know that there are bad fishmen, remember that guy who had 10 children and robbed a store and held a girl hostage and shot at the queen? It’s not a new concept for them. Basics! You’re making it seem too complex but truth is always simple and easy for the mind to accept and understand. Also, big NO, Otohime wasn’t trying to defend just the 70% good humans. She was defending humans generally. They always and always rob, assault, violate, and talk bad to the fishmen’s and mermaids’ faces and they don’t put them in prison or punish them at all, they just let them leave the island and take away what they stole. CELESTAL DRAGONS ENSLAVE HER PEOPLE, and SHE TOOK A BULLET FOR THEM! She defends the devil, not even God defends the devil! What does this tell you? Instead of thanking Fisher Tiger for telling them he’ll free her own people from agony, and tell him they’ll keep it a secret and help him however way they can, and thank him again for doing something no other person has the guts to do, she was AGAINST him doing that. How did she even look the fishmen slaves in their faces when they returned? How would they look her in the face knowing that? No shit they’d be loyal to Fisher Tiger. She doesn’t deserve to be queen. She’s not standing by her people, she’s always standing against them. Even though that’s the person who tortured them, and she stood against her own people. And yeah now the celestial dragons visiting makes sense, thanks for clearing that up.

g27

Just gotta say, Hordy was a G for stopping the Neptune army from interfering with that celestial dragon being shot. And I unfortunately and sadly lost respect for Aladdin for treating that prick instead of killing him.

g27

g27

There’s really no reason why anyone would like this character lol. Not even Garp did what she did. Oda built her up to be a wise woman, and we expected from her a lot, and it’s obvious Oda’s trying his best to make you like this character by forcing the script such that every character has no logical sense just to suck up to her because he wants you the viewer to like her too. If this show was sensible, she would be the most hated queen of the generations between her people.

g27

24:30 Why would you hope she comes back? You’re infuriated with Garp licking their boots, but not when she does it?

AccordingToLucky

She isnt killing her own grandsons for them. But i do agree she is childish. I hope she comes back cuz i dont want her to die lol

g27

She was against Fisher Tiger freeing her own people from them, and she CRIED when he said he’ll do it. How did she look the slaves in their faces when they returned? Celestial dragons enslave her own people and she took a bullet for them. Pirates kidnap her own people and they can only rely on Arlong to kill them and save the fishmen. How do you not want her to die?😂 Explain to me why do you even like her? I swear she’s worse than Garp. Garp at least doesn’t defend the celestial dragons morally. She on the other hand defends them morally and physically! She defends the devil. Not even God defends the devil. What does this tell you? She’s always against her people and you don’t even know why you like her🤷‍♂️

AccordingToLucky

U know what, u got a point. Lol She did do all that lol She's naive, bratty and idealistic. She lives in a fairy tail. U r right. Fuck her lol

g27

I feel like you’re being sarcastic, are you finally realizing or do you want me to shut up lol?

AccordingToLucky

No, actually im not being sarcastic. She is naive and has an idealistic world point, but that doesnt protect her. Her actions are constantly betraying her fellow fishman. I understand where she is coming from, but its naive and dumb and can most def be compared to Garp. And i give Garp extreme shit. So i kinda agree. She is a brat and nobody dares to put her in her place cuz she's the queen. She did cry and was against Fisher helping their people. She cried when he did it. Thats despicable. Just proves she lives in a bubble. Fisher first hand saw the horror that are Celestial Dragons and thats why be died hating the humans.

g27

Only Hordy dared to put them in their place. They talk all mighty about her but she doesn’t deserve the title of queen. She’s always against her people. Pirates always violate her people and she doesn’t do anything about that, they just robbed a store and she let them leave the island. What pissed me off the most this whole arc is when the former slaves said, “Why would you protect him? You don’t know what he did to us in the past.” And this idiot said, “I can feel your anguish, it’s very painful”, I don’t give a damn what you feel, I couldn’t care less about your feelings. She actually has no idea what he did to them, or else she wouldn’t have loved them so much. She has no idea what happened to them. They should’ve made that celestial dragon wish he were in hell. And I’m like the only guy who hated her like what the hell😂 Why do the viewers make her as if she’s virtuous? The viewers like Garp and itachi, so no surprise there lol. They always love mostly the wrong characters for the wrong reasons. Don’t fall for their mind games lucky, she’s scum, she doesn’t stand up for her own people.

g27

I literally gave her so much shit in my other comment I had to edit it after coming back😂

g27

Hey Mike I got Lucky on my side, what do you gotta say about that😏

AccordingToLucky

Yea, u really went insane on her lol But hey, i kinda have to agree with most of it.

g27

Most of it? I was speaking FACTS! Which ones did you not agree with? Like How? Lol

AccordingToLucky

I would have put it a bit more mildly, i really tore into her, but i guess she deserved it lol I guess i would dosagree with u saying fishman dont want to go live with humans. I dont think its about humans, its more about freedom. But her approach is the only one she has. Cuz they arent stronger, so.she has to bend a knee.

g27

Her approach is wrong. But I agree with you it’s not about humans, it’s about freedom. Just like in our world, you want the freedom to go anywhere but you wouldn’t go to war torn countries because it’s dangerous, common sense right? It’s dangerous to the fishmen as well.

g27

Plus, I notice that when you watch shows like these, you always associate the “good people” with infallibility, and “bad people” with fault. All the characters do some rights and wrongs, but even Oda wants the good characters infallible, and he couldn’t do that. There’s some truth to Arlong, there’s some bad in Fisher Tiger. Just because he’s good doesn’t mean he’s free of error, just because he’s bad doesn’t mean he’s always tripping lol. Don’t give in to the viewers!😂 They try to defend her but she’s scum!

g27

And she is worse than Garp. You said she isn’t killing her grandsons. Did you not read what Nicholas Kent said? He said that the celestial dragons usually recreate the colosseum by throwing mermaids into a bunch of piranhas and watch them get torn to shreds. And she ALLOWS them to get enslaved for years and CRIED when Fisher Tiger said he’ll free them. Now is that not EXACTLY like Garp? He ALLOWS the government to kill his grandsons. And she did the SAME, but 1000X. It’s way more messed up on her side and she took a bullet for them! “I can feel your pain”, yeah now you’ll feel real pain that you’re with him bish.

g27

Imagine, when it comes to her people being torn to shreds by piranhas she’s like “it is what it is”, but when it comes to living with humans she fights for it and is willing to die for it. No! lol “it is what it is” should be for living with the humans, and fighting to bring back her own people from hell should be the priority! She’s worse than Garp! Garp at least did it for his job over his family. She didn’t even do it for her job, her job actually requires her to defend her people not defend the celestial dragons and humans! Lol

Mike G. M.

Sorry for the late response; didn't get notified I was responded too XD > I got Lucky on my side, what do you gotta say about that😏 I say "okay..." and then do the whole 'John Travolta looking around' meme lol. There's a lot of things I don't agree with Lucky on either; him agreeing with you doesn't really mean much to where I stand. (Except when he's hating on Chainsaw Man; that opinion I do take as personal validation XD) > Do you want to go to Syria? No it’s dangerous > So you want to go to the New World? Does she think the New World would be nice to her? Here's the difference; visiting war-torn countries or other places like that are "naturally" dangerous is risky for reasons other than being yourself. There's a big difference between not wanting to go to a place with high crime or that has frequent bombing raid or natural disasters, and not wanting to go to a place because your race/gender/whatever about you is going to get you persecuted. Both are based on factors out of your control; but it's a lot easier and a lot more fair to point to the second type and go "that shouldn't be happening", which is what Otohime is really getting at. There are many reasons not to want to go to a place, even if you like the way it looks, but having one of those reasons be "I don't want to be enslaved if I go there" really shouldn't be one of them. >Her getting scratched by one bullet is definitely a plot hole Like I said; I don't really have any counter to this one; I just know that "Observation Haki" is going to be the thing One Piece stans are going to use to explain that away lol. > It’s not about feelings, it was never about feelings for me. They should be taught the reality of what’s going on right now. Yeah; if the internet has proved anything, it's that feelings beats reality in like... 95% of people. It's why we have anti-vaxxers, it's why climate-change denial exists, it's why there's such a war-front divide on the concept of AI art, and it's the entire reason why US politics are the complete and utter mess they currently are. I agree that it should be as easy as just using facts to sway others opinions; but it really does not work like that. Confirmation Bias is a very real thing that means people can and will very, *very* frequently distort or even outright ignore information if it doesn't match up with how they feel. It doesn't matter how many facts you throw at someone; if you can't get them to change how they emotionally resonate with a topic; it's not going to make a difference. And considering that children are way more spongey when it comes to developing emotional opinions? That's why if you're wanting to make generational change, you have to start with the youngest generation; Adults are on average, a lot harder to change. > Arlong said it himself at the beginning of episode 544, “Brother Tai was a fool”. And yet Jinbe agrees with Tiger. He even regrated the fact that Arlong couldn't see what Tiger wanted. Does that mean Jinbe is also wrong? Again; if you want to have the perspective that Arlong was right; you're allowed to. This is just fictional pirate content after all. I'm just giving my perspective in rebuttal :) >They always and always rob, assault, violate, and talk bad to the fishmen’s and mermaids’ faces and they don’t put them in prison or punish them at all, they just let them leave the island and take away what they stole. I think we have very different ideas of what it means to "let" them leave. If you kill someone and then flee your country; you can't turn around and say your country "let you leave". No; you just scarpered before they could catch up to you. (Which need I remind you is exactly what Luffy and crew technically did in Skypiea; even if the locals didn't mind or realise what was happening) On the other hand, you're just talking about ones that are rude and belittling them; If all they're doing is mouthing off, no matter how racist it is, then they're treated the same as what happens if someone starts being mouthy at a restaurant. Step 1 is to just ignore them and hope they stop on their own accord, Step 2 is getting them to leave, and it's only if they start getting violent or truly obnoxious do you go to getting the cops in for it. You don't have a guy arrested just because he says something sexist to the woman behind the counter. Annoying as it may be; it's not actually against the law to be a jerk. (See all the Youtube drama about American Streamers going over to Japan and doing everything they can to rile up people, but only end up getting arrested when they start doing things they can actually get arrested for.) > She defends the devil, not even God defends the devil! What does this tell you? So in my last comment I said that Otohime is based on Martin Luthor King, which is true. But I think another anti-violent activist has a much better comparison to this moment here to talk about, and that's Ghandi. Again; not sure how much you know about it, but Ghandi as a person was the head of the movement to free India from being under British control, and was also completely anti-violence toward the British, instead just act by doing things like not buying British items and just in general refusing to accept the current state of things. One of the things that happened 10 years into Gandhis push for freedom is an event called the Jallianwala Bagh massacre where a British captain, who had become wrongfully convinced that an insurrection would take place; ordered an entire platoon of soldiers to open fire at a group of innocent people that were gathered for a local festival, killing anywhere between 400 and 1500 people. Gandhi, who again, was the main leader in trying to drive British control out of India; his responce was basically "This was a terrible event that shouldn't have happened; but I still implore all Indians not to use violence against the British." Heck, he didn't even insist that the guy who ordered the massacre be trialed in India; quite the opposite in fact. He actually told India to boycott even going to his trial. Again, his response basically amounted to "We do not seek to punish this man, we have no desire for revenge. We want to change the system that let this happen; and since he is a British man, we as Indians will have no part in his judgment and sentencing." Gandhi was actually *so* anti-violence that he repeatedly almost killed himself for it. A few years after his response to the Massacre; Gandhi had been arrested for "disobedience". While he was in jail; a group of his were peacefully protesting, got fired at by a group of policeman, and then attacked back in retaliation; killing 25 people when they burned down a police station. When he heard about this, Ghandi had a message sent out to his followers that basically said "I will refuse to eat anything until you all can promise me you will never react with violence again". And he did. He starved himself for 5 whole days until he got a message that convinced him that his followers were truly committed to anti-violent methods of resistance. And just to be 100% clear; Gandhis methods worked. He did succeed in ridding India from an oppressive British rule in his own lifetime without violence. Otohime is just doing the same type of thing in her own way.

I agree with almost all of what you said. But I’ll try my best to reply to each in simplest form. The issue is that it is happening. A wise person does not expose themselves to accusations, nor do they allow the purlins of those afflicted by them to reach them. The world is large, if you are being demeaned by a community then you are at fault if you don’t move somewhere else, you know things escalate, go to somewhere where you live with dignity. > Yeah; if the internet has proved anything, it's that feelings beats reality in like... 95% of people. Well yes feelings do exist. What I meant is that it’s not about feelings, it’s about the reality of what’s happening right now. What ever the feelings are, they exist nonetheless, everyone has different feelings. Dealing with people’s feelings won’t make generational changes, dealing with circumstance does. They’re afraid they go to the surface and they get enslaved, the root of their fear is celestial dragons and their enormous power over the world. This is the reality of what’s happening, this is the facts. Now she shouldn’t use this fact to stand on a podium and throw speeches at people to try to convince them to change their fear/hate. She should deal with this issue with the power that she has. Dragon knows the facts, he’s dealing with the essence of this directly, that’s why he’s really wise. When you work on changing that, you work on changing the circumstance of your people, you make it such that it’s safe for them to go to a specific place on the surface, and when they get used to a shift in circumstance of being used to living on the surface, you get a generational change. Just like in our world, technology advances, countries import them, circumstances are different, you get “iPad kids”, generational change. And you know how iPad kids are so different than us, you get a generational change. > And yet Jinbe agrees with Tiger. He even regrated the fact that Arlong couldn't see what Tiger wanted. Does that mean Jinbe is also wrong? I agree with you completely. But I’m referring to something different. Let’s go back to see the full context of what Arlong said. “ “Don’t kill humans”?! See what happens when you show mercy to them?! Brother Tai was a fool”. So neither I nor Arlong were talking about Fisher Tiger’s vision, we were talking about his stupidity of saying don’t kill the marines, and it backfired heavily, because the marines don’t care that they showed mercy to them, they still killed him. So I agree on this perspective with Arlong, he was a fool. > On the other hand, you're just talking about ones that are rude and belittling them; If all they're doing is mouthing off, no matter how racist it is, then they're treated the same as what happens if someone starts being mouthy at a restaurant. Step 1 is to just ignore them and hope they stop on their own accord, …. They shouldn’t allow the humans to come under their hospitality and demean them like that. There should be rules and laws that punish anyone who engages in hate speech towards the fishmen and mermaids, even in situations like instrumental aggression, not just flat out violence. They’re doing them a favor after all, they opened their nation for people to safely cross the seas and enter the new world. On your last point, this might be a bit complicated because I’m writing this but bear with me. Suppose A and B, where A implies B. We have four cases of T (True) and F (False) and the implication: A B A —> B 1 F T T 1* 2 F F T 2* 3 T T T 3* 4 T F F 4* We can think of this in a slightly different way. Suppose the numbers on each side of the table refer to perspectives. For example, 1 is the perspective of A implying B, while 1* is the perspective of B being implied by A. We can say: 1&2: Falsehood may necessitate truth, or may necessitate falsehood. 3&4: Truth only necessitates Truth. 1*: Truth isn’t harmed by falsehood. 2*: Falsehood comes from falsehood. 3*: Truth guides to truth. 4*: Falsehood does not come from truth. > And just to be 100% clear; Gandhis methods worked. He did succeed in ridding India from an oppressive British rule in his own lifetime without violence. I don’t agree with Gandhi at all. I think you know where this fits in the table. The ends were good but the means weren’t. Gandhi was against punishment of deserving Brits, even God punishes, he created hell. Anything that is away from God is false, because he is the absolute truth. Without mentioning names of societies, there are some men who are courageous, they hold their souls in their fists, they don’t return unless they win or be martyrs. I do agree with almost all of what you said, it isn’t wrong. Otohime was built up as a wise character, but she isn’t at all. She’s worse than Garp. Just like Garp allows the government to kill his grandsons, she allows the celestial dragons to throw the mermaids in piranhas and they get shred into pieces, but instead of two, it’s a 1000x for years. At least Ace died protecting Luffy, the slaves die for nothing. And she loves them.

Celestial Dragon are ugly on purpose probably because of inbreeding. They consider themselves pure blood so I guess that the only option is inbreeding lol

They're not part animals, anymore than you would say humans are part animals because we are decended from monkeys lol. So yes, technically speaking they are animals but so are humans. But in the same way that it likely stems from a very distant evolutionary relation, referring to them as fish or animals should be treated the same way as if you referred to a human as a monkey, and you know that wouldn't go down well..

AccordingToLucky

I mean, to be fair, they are literally FISH PEOPLE. Humans are regular humans, the comparisson isnt equal ahaha

Krowft

It actually is, they are only "fishmen" by name, and that's not even all of them. Half of them are "mermen" (not fishmen) and the other half "fishmen", but that's just the name they use. If the word for "humans" was "monkeyman" it wouldn't suddenly make it justified to call them monkey because they are "litreally MONKEYmen". There is literally no evidence that they are sleeping with fish or splicing fish dna when they have children, their relation to fish is likely as remote as our own relation to monkeys, so why is it justified to call them fish based on nothing more than their name and appearance? Humans do resemble apes by appearance, we are decended from them, but that doesn't justify calling a person an ape (or a monkey), the only real difference is that we are lucky we didn't decide to call ourselves apemen, because I don't see any other difference. Don't get me wrong, I know they look outlandish, but that's only because we're only used to ever seeing other humans, someone seeing a human for the first time might be just as bewildered and think "they look like hairless apes!"

AccordingToLucky

Because its in their name??? Fishman, fish people? They have octopus legs and fins and scalles and can breathe under water, sure, they are evolved formes of fish, similar to humans now but also def have fish DNA. Humans are just humans. They dont have tails or monkey ears lol They arent called monkey humans for a reason, cuz that makes no sense lol Fishman however are literally half fish. Some full blown fish with an evolved brain xD Fish shouldnt even be an insult to them 💀

Isn’t one of the Princesses’s guards a seahorse?
