He made choices that led to his grave. He should have listened to Whitebeard's advice, but he didn't. And he did exactly as he pleased until the very end. That idiot... For Ace' sake, Whitebeard died at Marineford, his crew has been disbanded ever since, and Luffy nearly died multiple times during the war (we also need to stop bringing up Garp and Dragon who didn't help Luffy. He's a young adult and a captain from the worst generation. We're not talking about Koala from the Fisher Tiger era). Anyway, what more could be sacrificed for a guy who was doing everything he could to die? Robin has also been wanted by the World Government since childhood, and she has never displayed such a level of stupidity.

Sugar herself may or may not be strong, but fighting someone with her ability must be very difficult, and personally, very intimidating if you actually appreciate her ability. Because imagine if you fight her with your best friend, the moment she touches him he will cease to have ever existed in your memory, there's not even any feelings of vengence or fear from that conversion, you won't remember that you were fighting with your friend to make you feel cautious or vengeful because of what happened to him, you won't even remember that SOMEONE was turned into a toy, from your perspective some random toy just appeared out of nowhere and you were fighting alone to begin with. So on the one hand, those that don't overthink things will probably feel a little braver as they won't be able to percieve her ability actually turning people into toys (they will immediately forget), but those that tend to be cautious and overthink will be more intimidated as you know that one mistake and it's all over.
